4 1/2 stars. When Shelby, a beat-up woman in a few different ways gives up the rodeo circuit, she is broken. Not only nursing broken ribs, her truck breaks down. Luckily, Luke, local police officer comes to her rescue. He gives her a ride into town, arranges a tow truck and buys her lunch. Pretty big list for the first hour. He knows who she is, famous rodeo circuit queen. Since she has nothing but the pack on her back, he offers her a job. His family has a Ranch and needs help. I loved this little novella. Good choice for Valentine’s Day. It’s not set then but a sweet story with a HEA. Those are the best. And it’s also a clean romance. I got a freebie from BookFunnel, but that didn’t affect my honest review.
Bluebonnet Cowgirl is such a fun read! Brooks Wright has written such a beautiful, redemptive story. I absolutely loved the plot and the ending was perfect! I really enjoyed this book.
Bluebonnet Cowgirl by Sheep Gate Publishing is a well-written clean suspense romance based on Christian principles. It's a wonderful faith-building story about a rodeo star who has lost everything and has a nasty ex-boyfriend. The story shows how God takes her to a place where she is safe and gets to know God and meets the love of her life. A very beautiful story to read.
A nice short story. Love the life change. The leap from friends to marriage was a bit fast. Apart from that, it had the right ingredients for a good read.
When the book first started I thought Shelby had been beat up by a man. It was actually a bull at the rodeo she was competing in. Her attitude is pretty tough at the beginning but as the story unfolded it was easy to see why. I was suspicious of the ex-boyfriend being involved with the rodeo accident but Shelby didn't know whose fault it was. Later in the book it was revealed how the accident happened. I enjoyed how Luke and his family accepted Shelby and treated her like part of their family. It was nice to see her opening up and learning to trust others. The salvation message was explained in simple terms that anyone could understand, yet wasn't overly "preachy". The meadow of bluebonnets was a beautiful part of the story and explained the book's title. I was disappointed when the book ended. I wanted it to go deeper and explain the rodeo accident in more detail. I will definitely be watching for more books written by this author.
Shelby was a Rodeo queen until someone took her money and left her to get trampled by a bull. So she packed up and drove till her truck quit. She takes her duffel and starts walking towards town. Sheriff Luke Dennsby sees her and stops to offer help. She accepts a ride from him to town to eat lunch and get help for her truck. Having newhere to go she agrees to work at Luke's family ranch for pay plus room and board. After a few days Luke asks her to go to church with his family. She agrees and is surprised when she really prays for God to show her the way. She continues to ask for God to help her and accepts help from others. Only problem is Bruce shows up and causes problems. Will Shelby stay or go??
Shelby and Luke meet when she is broke, broken down, and battered. He doesn't exactly swoop in and rescue her. She wouldn't allow that. Instead, he offers her a job at his folk's ranch, for room and board plus a little extra.
The people in this town are nothing like she's used to. They are all kind, helpful, and protective. And she's thinking about staying. Until trouble comes...
I really enjoyed the story. She's landed with a God-fearing family. They let her ask questions without forcing their beliefs on her, but she sees how they act and react.
Hold onto your hats. We are going to for a ride! A car stopping to help a stranger on a dusty hot road. He was helping a lady that had also a set of broken ribs from an accident. This car was filled with a God loving driver who would help anyone, anytime. He was also the sheriff. Thru his counsel, she learned about Gods saving Grace. A fabulous story from beginning to end
