There’s no place like Happily Inc for the holidays…
Wynn Beauchene has a thriving business, a great kid and a mildly embarrassing crush on the guy next door — local cop Garrick McCabe. She’s a strong, independent woman who can’t help dreaming what-if about a man she barely knows. Until he needs her help…
Garrick’s pregnant daughter will be home for Christmas, and his house needs a woman’s touch. Garrick and his little girl were tight once and he’s hoping a small-town Christmas will bring her back to him. But thawing his daughter’s frosty attitude will take more than a few twinkle lights. Maybe sharing the holiday with Wynn and her son will remind her of the joy of family.
As the season works its magic on these wounded souls, Wynn realises it’s time to stop punishing herself for a painful secret, while Garrick remains haunted by the ghosts of past mistakes. Will he allow Wynn to open the only gift she truly wants — his heart?

Critics have dubbed Mallery "the new queen of romantic fiction." (Walmart) Booklist says, "Romance novels don't get much better than Mallery's expert blend of emotional nuance, humor, and superb storytelling," and RT Book Reviews puts her "in a class by herself!" It's no wonder that her books have spent more than 200 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list.
Although Susan majored in Accounting, she never worked as an accountant because she was published straight out of college with two books the same month. Sixteen prolific years and seventy-four books later, she hit the New York Times bestsellers list for the first time with Accidentally Yours in 2008. She made many appearances in the Top 10 before (finally) hitting #1 in 2015 with Thrill Me, the twentieth book in her most popular series, the Fool's Gold romances, and the fourth of five books released that year.
Susan lives in Washington state with her husband, two ragdoll cats, and a small poodle with delusions of grandeur. Her heart for animals has led Susan to become an active supporter of the Seattle Humane Society. Visit Susan online at www.SusanMallery.com.
Happily This Christmas by Susan Mallery is part of the Happily Inc series. I loved this novel! Susan Mallery created characters that I got really attached to. I could not stop laughing, rolling my eyes, crying, and falling in love with the characters. The heroine is a super mom to her teenage son. They have a really great relationship. He's growing up too fast for her liking and occasionally causes some trouble. But he's not really a trouble maker at all. He helps his mom and his male neighbor a lot. The hero, sexy male neighbor next door, has a 21-year-old daughter who is married to a marine overseas on duty. She is coming to his home for a duration of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her baby is due during Christmas time. His daughter is pushed out of the mom's house and into her dad's place. All these years, she thought her dad abandoned her not knowing that he really cared and was stuck in undercover duty as a DEA Agent. Knowing those details later changes everything.
Then, there is the fact her friend is getting married in the small-town and she goes into labor before the wedding begins. Her father is attracted to his female neighbor who is perfect with design and an excellent mother. She has skills in helping him decorate for his daughter and handling his daughter relationship strains well. That and their attraction grows slowly but hot as heck. I laughed and cried. The novel captures the realities of real-life perfectly. Parenting is not easy nor is giving birth but they all manage it and move forward. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to all romance fans.
Whilst I enjoyed this book it was very soapy drama.
Wynn, the female lead character seemed to be a lot older with her characteristics and behaviours than she was. And quite the over reactor so somewhat a little annoying.
Joelyn was the male lead character’s daughter and gosh she was so bratty to begin with again somewhat a little annoying!
The Marine wedding was a bit weird thrown in and a little unbelievable..
Lots of drama, small town stereotypical, but nevertheless I did enjoy the read.
So vanilla. Everything was great in this great little town where everyone loves everyone else. People are incredibly generous and friendly. With the most unusual names - Wynn, Silver, Pallas, Garrick - in a town named "Happily Inc:" There's almost no conflict and everyone acts honorably. I kept waiting for something bad to happen, or some kind of conflict, but no. So if that's the kind of book you want to read, with a policeman in a town where's there's no crime and he never has to leave anything because of work, then go ahead. It should be called "Utopia."
