Abby Gossman is unstoppable. An Olympic champion, she’s now blazing a trail for women in baseball as the first ever female coach for an MLB team. All of her dreams are coming true, even if one of them has to stay in the shadows. Because if anyone found out she was dating Jake Landon, an All-Star catcher from another team, it would ruin her reputation.

But then Jake gets traded to the Longhorns, and just like that the relationship is over. As madly in love with her as he is, he won’t ask Abby to sacrifice her career for him. She matters to him more than anything, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make her happy. Even if it’s killing him not to have her in his arms and in his bed. Even if he wants to throttle any other man who looks at her.

It doesn’t matter how hard she tries, Abby can’t seem to stay away from sexy, charming Jake, and before long, they’re sneaking around, desperate for each other. Hot hotel hookups, clandestine meetings after dark, forbidden rendez-vous whenever and wherever they can. Because as much as they’re together, it’s never enough.

But what’s in the shadows has a way of coming to light, and when the spotlight shines on their forbidden love, Abby will have to choose between Jake, the man of her dreams, and the career she’s sacrificed everything for.

4.5 - "You’re worth the risk." Stars!

We return to the Dallas Longhorns team (& series) with book three, Caught Looking giving us team batting coach; Abby Gossman’s story.

I have to say I am absolutely loving this series, each book has been better than it’s predecessor, and the cast of characters that you get to know more with each instalment are just a great bunch of people to spend a few hours of your time reading about.

This book focuses on Jake and Abby, and the relationship they have been carrying out in private, mainly due to the fact that Abby knows exactly how the story will play out in regard to a female baseball coach dating a player(albeit from another team) if the press get wind of it. Unfortunately, for both of them Jake gets traded to the Longhorns, and Abby see’s the only option is for them to stop seeing each other, in anything outside of a professional capacity.

"I miss everything about you, and I keep trying to tell myself that this has to be enough… Somehow."

It’s not long before they are breaking their self-set ‘friends-only’ rules, and as you would expect in this age of camera phones, and CCTV in every corner, it’s not long before their secret hits the headlines. The double standard in which Abby was treated for this in the latter stages of the book pissed me off, the author hit that point squarely on the head in highlighting the way women are treated in a male dominated sports forum, but I loved the way the whole thing was resolved, so much so Jake takes the #1 spot in my Longhorns hall of fame.

Can’t wait for more! Javi and Aerin are up next in Moon Shot these two have been at each others throats since the beginning, and getting to know him a little more in this book makes me believe this is a man with a lot more layers than one would initially assume.

Caught Looking was the third book in Tara Wyatt’s Dallas Longhorn series.

Jake Landon was a professional baseball player who was on the backside of his career and was just traded to the Dallas Longhorns. Abby Gossman was the Longhorn’s hitting coach and the first female coach in the MLB. She had a hard and fast rule, she didn’t date players. She had worked hard to get where she was in her career and she was married to her job, players not allowed. However, unknown to the public, the two had a secret relationship. Jake wasn’t one of her players, so she was safe....until she wasn’t.

Wyatt opened the story with the foundation, then she took us through the push and pull between Jake and Abby and their new circumstances. Wyatt included baseball details highlighting the chase to the post season, which added depth. Wyatt also included the previous characters, Dylan/Maggie and Hunter/Marlowe, as central support characters in the storyline.

All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read that set the stage for the remainder of the series. Javier is up next in Moon Shot.

Love in the Yard

Fantastic! From the beginning, there was something special between Jake and Abby but when they find themselves on the same team, they are forced apart. It's completely heartbreaking (yes, the tears streaming kind) and something they each struggle with but they believe it's the right decision career-wise. From there, the rollercoaster ride picks up lots of speed. When the truth comes out, hard decisions have to be made.

These two are hotter than ghost peppers when they're together. 🔥 I LOVED the "highlight reel" that Dylan and Hunter provided giving a seriously abridged synopsis of the first two books in the series. The ending was fitting for these two but did require some blotting of the tear ducts. I just wished that Abby could've had one supportive family member - even a slightly distant relative - but in reality, too often that's missing in people's lives. 😏

Caught Looking is the third novel in the Dallas Longhorns Series. This story drew me in from the very beginning. It's fast paced, and so entertaining. Jake is a catcher on a pro baseball team, and he know's his days are numbered for being on the field. Anna has worked hard, to be working for a profession baseball team as a hitter coach. So when Jake and her start a relationship, they know they have to make sure to keep it a secret so it won't destroy all she's worked for. But will they be able to keep it a secret when Jake gets traded to her team? I really liked Jake and Abby, their back and forth, their steamy moments, and how much love they had for one another. Now onto the next book Moon Shot.

I think I was looking forward to this book the most and Tara definitely served with this one! I knew after the little details of Abby and Jake's relationship in Wild Card that this was going to be an interesting one. But that first chapter was brutal! I swear my heart was splitting in two for these characters that I didn’t even fully know yet! And from then on I was completely invested in these two. I had to keep reading because I needed them to be together. And oh boy was their story one for the books!

Where Hunter was my favorite hero, I think Abby places first as my favorite heroine! And yes I said was about Hunter because Jake was pretty amazing too! When I was a little girl I always dreamed of playing in the MLB and reading this just brought me back to those years and gave me glimpses into an experience I could only imagine. I felt for Abby as if she was my best friend. I wanted to just reach out and hug her so many times throughout the book! It had me so emotional and on edge. These two were so amazing together and it broke my heart that there were obstacles to their happiness, but it made for a glorious HEA in the end!

Three books in and I am still so invested in this team. I need any and all books Tara will give us because I love these characters so much! I can’t wait for future installments and something tells me Javi and Aerin’s story in Moon Shot is sure to bring the heat!

this is the third book in this series and even though you dont necessarily have to read the others you will get a better picture on each character and those other mentioned. So we have Abby who is the Longhorns bat coach and she is an olympian winner, so basically she knows her stuff. Abby has been having a secretive affair with Jake because she is a woman in a mans field and feels like she wont get the respect that she worked for and deserves. Unfortunately for her Jake gets transferred to her team and now she has to break up with him because that is a no-no, however she loves Jake but pushes him away. Jake gets hurt and Abby decides she can't be away from him she loves him to much. Javi who works with her has a crush on her but she doesn't notice it and even when Jake mentions this she still doesn't see it, he had to speak up for her to notice but she lets him down easy. And then boom there is a tape from an elevator showing her and Jake kissing and she is given the ultimatum leave him or keep her job, she keeps her job. Now I get that she worked hard for it, understandable but she could not continue to say she loved Jake so much if she was willing to let him go. I can't accept that. Now Jake uh he is such a sweet heart and he did show how much he loved her, he put her first..love him

rcvd an ARC at no cost to author...voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.

3.5 STARS

There were a lot of things to love about this story! The female lead is amazing, having played softball her entire life, winning an Olympic medal, and then getting a job as the MLB's first female coach. I loved this aspect of her story and the very real struggles she faced as a woman in a man's world. Her family dynamic was interesting and I liked that it actually played an important role in her feelings about her career and what she can compromise for love.

When her boyfriend, a MLB Catcher, gets traded to her team she faces a problem since dating within the team is off limits, even though their relationship existed before the trade. This story is so well written because you can see why she can't choose love, even as you are DYING for her to choose love. These are complex decisions that are not easy!

The reason it only got 3.5 stars from me is that actual meat of this story was fairly repetitive. It's a lot of the same scenario running over and over again, until there is finally a hitch. The resolution is also so obvious that you see it coming long before it does. These are not deal-breakers, but this book didn't quite do it for me like the others in the series.

These two have seriously hot, NC-17 rated, steamy scenes! So prepare for your Kindle to burst into flames. You've been warned...in the best way possible.

Abby is a former Olympic softball champion who has finally made it as the first female on the MLB coaching staff of the Texas Longhorns. Jake had been a star catcher in MLB for a number of years and hoped to play 1-2 more years. Abby was dedicated to baseball and had dated very little, especially not baseball players. But, Abby & Jake had been in a secret affair for several months and they were both on different teams so they had little professional contact. However, this came to an abrupt end when Jake was traded to the team where Abby coached. She had worked very hard to gain respect in baseball and she didn’t want to jeopardize her career so she told Jake they had to stop seeing one another. This proved easier said than done when they constantly saw one another. Would Jake & Abby be able to forget their love or would they somehow have a future together?

I love baseball and romance so this was a great story for me. The characters were very well developed and you could almost feel everything they were going through. I recommend this book for and enjoyable read.

Caught Looking is the third installment of Tara Wyatt’s Dallas Longhorns series. It’s a delightful continuation of said series, and features Abby, one of the Longhorns’ coaches.

Abby Gossman is the first female coach in the MLB, and is hyper aware of the spotlight that puts on her. She’s sacrificed everything for this opportunity, and is reluctant to let anything stand in her way. When she starts dating Jake Landon, a baseball player from another team, she insists on keeping things a secret. But her plans are thwarted when Jake is traded to her team. Abby knows that their relationship has to end… but ending things with the man that she loves will be harder than she realizes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between Abby and Jake, as well as the push-pull dynamic that they shared; however, I think that the back-and-forth got to be a little overwrought in places. While the conflict was valid, I had a difficult time accepting the idea that the two couldn’t be together, though I thought that Jake’s attitude and response to what Abby needed was refreshing and respectful. It’s always nice to read a hero that isn’t wholly self-oriented and who makes sacrifices for the heroine. And I also loved the portrayal of Dylan and Hunter in this story. It was a fun inclusion that makes me want to read the whole series again.

Fans of this series won’t be disappointed. And I’m already excited to read Javi’s story in book four.

Book 3 in the Dallas Longhorns series and it was a great addition to it. Loved reading this forbidden romance between Jake who is a player and Abby, the first female MLB coach. Jake and Abby had to work so hard to get their HEA. Abby had so much to lose if their relationship was out the open no matter how much she wanted to be with Jake. I was pulled into this story from page one. I couldn’t put it down. I had to know how it ended. Were they able to get their HEA or was it is still out of their reach because of their situation? This book is a perfect escape. Sports romances have always been one of my favorite tropes to read and this was no exception.

I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

It’s never a good idea to date your hitting coach.. I mean is it? When careers are on the line, where does your heart fit in? I feel for Abby.. I mean she’s worked her entire life to make her mark.. she’s even an Olympian.. she’s fought to make her mark as a coach in a mans world..coaching in the MLB..but when her secret dating life gets transferred to her team .. dating is a non negotiable.. what if you get caught? Jake doesn’t seem to care .. he’s at the end of his career not sure how many games he has left.. he would give it all up for Abby ..
When they get caught sneaking around Abby has to choose between Jake and her job.. which one will she choose? Well you are going to have to read it to find out. What? I’m not going to give you everything !! Another amazing read Tara!!

Jake and Abby are so clearly in love with each other, but when Jake gets traded to the same team that Abby works at, they are forced apart as this is against the team’s code of conduct. BUT CAN THEIR LOVE MAKE IT? (I’m dramatic AF for that sentence, but spoiler alert, yes, they make, cause it’s a romance, duh).

The writing in this was excellent! I just couldn’t put it down! There’s a lot of back and forth in this. Especially because Abby is the first female coach in the in-universe baseball league and dating a player would be such a career ending move. I also loved how misogyny in sports was discussed and handled. And how her players including Jake had her back.

TBH, this entire book was excellent!

I have said it before, and I'll say it again. I like stories that drop me in the middle of everything. When I started reading this, Abby and Jack didn't feel like strangers. They were introduced so well in Wild Card, that it felt they were like my old friends when I started reading Caught Looking.

I've been reading romance novels for a long time and let's just say, women aren't always empowered. They make it usually seem like the heroine is, but not really. That is definitely not the case with this novel.

I'm not even going to bother with a summary. I don't want to spoil anything. Read it. You won't regret it. I am looking forward to book #4.

This is really good, Tara. Congratulations.

Great story. Good insight into what a woman in a man's world has to go through to keep her job. She has to hold herself to a different standard than a man would in the same position. Great love story. and steamy sex.

If you enjoy reading about love winning out in the end - then Caught Looking is just the book for you.

The story is about Abby, the first female coach in MLB and Jake, a back catcher who is traded to Abby's team in Dallas. The couple had met a few months before and sparks flew for the 2 of them from the start. But then Jake is traded to Abby's Dallas Longhorns team and it becomes a forbidden love. Abby ends the relationship because she can't risk her job that she's worked so hard to achieve and Jake is very understanding. It's hard at first to be around each other and not be together and the two comes to a point where they cannot deny their love for eachother.

Caught Looking is a great book by Tara Wyatt to read to just witness love conquering all type of romance. It's the third installment of Dallas Longhorns series. Jake's character is a patient gentleman that knows what he wants and goes after what he desires. He's willing to sacrifice his happiness for the love of his life, even though he is unhappy. He s also very sexy whenever he's around Abby...especially at the bachelor's auction.

Abby is a strong woman trying to please others. She knows what she's worked so hard to achieve but at what cost and all the secrecy. But she knows she can't lose the love she and Jake shares and tries to figure out what can be done to keep it.

This book was amazing and I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. This was a great addition to the Dallas Longhorns series. Abby is the the first female pitching coach in the MLB and she want's to make a name for herself and she has to keep her relationship with Jake a secret even though he is on a different baseball team. Jake is a catcher for the Cincinnati Reds and has a had a successful career but all that changes when he gets traded to Dallas Longhorns, which not only means he’ll be starting over in a new city with a new team, but it means his top secret relationship with Longhorns hitting coach Abby Gossman is in trouble. Can these two make there relationship work considering that they are now on the same baseball team? Read this book to find out what happens between these two and I don't want to give to much away. I personally can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.

Accepting Their Fate As Soulmates:
By Korkoi -
Abby worked in a male dominated environment, which meant she had sacrificed everything in her life to get to the top, so she had to make sure her personal life was private. Jake was in a relationship with Abby, but obstacles and complicated circumstances, meant their relationship had to be secret. The stolen kisses, secret trysts and jealous moments, made me love this book and I couldn’t put it down, once I started reading it. I recommend you find a quiet corner, a cold drink to cool you down, a do not disturb sign and then relax for this amazing experience.

Jake and Abby are in a relationship, he’s a baseball catcher for Cincinnati, whereas she’s a Coach for the Longhorns, so no problem, that is until he’s traded to the Longhorns! What happens to their relationship now? Can they continue or breakup for the sake of the Team? This is quite an emotional book that explores human depth of feeling. It’s steamy in places but that’s tempered with some good old Baseball action, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Jake and Abby. Abby and have met at an award ceremony and hit it off. But they have kept their relationship a secret. Jake plays for the Reds and she works for the Longhorns. But things get tricky when Jake is traded to the Longhorns at the deadline. The call off their relationship but it's killing them. But true love prevails. A great HEA.

This is Abby and Jake’s story. Abby is one of the Longhorn’s coaches and is the first female coach in MLB. Jake’s just been traded to the Longhorns.
