Sometimes to understand the story, you have to go back to the beginning. Read between the lines. Evaluate all of the pieces to see how they fit together. Instead of standing my ground when I came face to face with my own version of the devil two months ago, I ran away. Healthy? No. Effective? Temporarily. Facing my past was a battle I had no interest in fighting, but it was stupid to think it'd come to anything else. I took what I wanted, claimed the love that I'd finally let myself believe I deserved. I forgot that things don't work out for people like me. We don't get the boy and the house and the good life. We're the scraps. The leftovers that someone else already chewed up and spat on the sidewalk. Jaden did that. He really did a number on me; he managed to top all the other trauma I'd endured in my life. Now he was here, living in the love of my life's house. Breathing the same air, in the same city, looking at the same moon I did every night. So yes, I ran, but I couldn't stay gone forever. Alright, Portland. What new horrors do you have for me this time around?

Related so much.. because you can say you want to face XYZ but when it comes to it, it is difficult. I enjoyed that this whole arc and growth story shows our MC facing things head on and not running.
A tattooed, burly Swiss man is not what I thought I needed in my book-romance world, but I was so wrong. Aside from that pleasant surprise, the healing these characters go through had me sobbing in the best ways. Madilyn DeRose has a way of mixing good humor, dark humor, trauma and healing all together in the best of ways. I haven’t been moved by characters and a story like this since Ravenhood and After. 20/10 do recommend.
In this book she really faces into talking about what Jaden had done to her. She tells Alden but doesn’t tell him who and he must fine out on his own who. This book was a lot closer to my heart because she’s conflicted. Her and Alden are soul mates and they are always push or pull. Em loves to play games and likes to run away from her problems. We see her having multiple break downs and her mentally health is extremely terrible. She leaves Alden and travels Europe she tumbles upon Kade 🥵. This book goes from MF to MMF real quickly. This book is also close to my heart. Madilyn is so good with throwing curve balls and playing with your emotions and taken them on a roller coaster. This series is my favorite of the whole year. I’ve almost 300 books this year. That says a lot about this series. S
Am I emotionally invested in this series? Yes. Is it an unhealthy obsession that’s more than likely going to end in my heart breaking? More than likely. I want a HEA, don’t get me wrong. I am skeptical AF as much pain as this, and the last book have put me through. TBH Im here for it though. Regardless of the outcome in ending of this series, these books are now some of my favorites! Honestly, this series is amazing so far.
This Contemporary Dark Romance continues on where book one left off. Keeping with the same style, this book is full of emotional angst with lots of new surprises to get you all in your feels. There are multiple POVs so you can easily get lost in the reading experience. This book is a darker romance. Make sure to check those trigger warnings before heading into this read! The romance is scrumptiously written in addition to the intoxicating spicy scenes.
This one was an emotional ride, y’all. My heart broke for Em for having to relive her past traumatic events and do what she thought was best to protect herself and to protect Alden. My heart also broke for Alden who spent most of Sentence Redacted left in the dark, while watching the love of his life fall in love with someone else.
On the flipside, we were introduced to Kade who Em met in Switzerland when she ran to Europe to escape her reality… and instant swoon 🫠 Upon Kade’s surprise arrival to the states, pretty much everyone falls in love with him. His love for and protectiveness over Em is [almost] unmatched; save for the same she gets from Alden… and y’all these fictional men are perfect.
Sentence Redacted is full of love, anger, resentment, pain, and growth. The banter and witty comebacks are always top tier 🤌🏼
Buckle up, buttercup… you’re about to go on one heck of an emotional ride.
The is the 2nd book in the From Yesterday to Always series, and I loved it! I just love the spunk and attitude of EM! In this edition she is forced to deal with pain and damage inflicted by Jaden....more hurt than she's ever known, and she's been through a lot. She has to get away...from home and everything. But what happens when she has to go home, and the one person who has hurt her the most, now lives with Alden?
I just can't get enough of EM! She is constantly battling the demons in her head, due to mental illness. She's tough, much tougher than she gives herself credit for. I can't wait to see where else DeRose can take this series! I seriously never want it to stop!
The story of Em continues right where it left of in the previous book. Em and Alden are dealing with the aftermath of Em coming face to face with her hell. She decides to get herself away from the situation completely and leaves everything behind for Europe. Alden being left behind has no clue of what has happened. He realises that something is wrong but its not easy to figure out if you dont have all the information.
The author keeps the story going with new twists along the way. One of the biggest is Kade. Her previous book was spicy but she brought even more spice into this one. The release of the finale of this series can’t come soon enough.
📚 Sentence Redacted by Madilyn DeRose 📚 book #2 of 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
Em comes back from her break in Switzerland where she met the incredible Daddy Kade! Her and Alden are still on rocking territory as she protects him from a secret that’ll absolutely destroy him.
The plot is insane, naturally flowing twists and turns that keep you engaged and invested!! Absolutely obsessed! The Mental health rep is incredible and never fails to be so darn relatable. I’m obsessed with this series! Can’t wait to read Blurred Lines.

I couldn't put this book down because there was always something I wanted to know what would happen or if/how someting was resolved. There were a lot of surprises and subtle references to events from the first book where I was thinking, "oh, yeah, I remember that … that makes sense now." Not that they didn't make sense before, but now you actually get the 'real' reason.
An excellent second to the first book with unexpected outcomes! I'm really looking forward to the next book.
A big thank you to the author for the advance review copy I received for free. I leave this review happily and voluntarily!
Book 2 is just as mind bendingly amazing as the first. It sucks you in and drowns you in all the feelings and emotions. I love that we get multiple pov’s from not only the main characters but some of the side characters, and oh I love Marcus! This is not my usual genre but having read another of this authors series I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did. The characters are complex and the storyline does not go anywhere near where I thought it would which I love. It keeps you up until late not even noticing the time and I am waiting so impatiently for book 3. Loved it!
Sentence Redacted is a continuation of Faded Pages. This book series is breathtaking. It features a woman who has been dragged through the mud but fights her demons on a daily basis. She tries to be strong and keep her secret from destroying those she loves while destroying herself. She has an amazing support system and people who love her. They would burn the world to the ground just for her if she would allow it.
I highly recommend this book. As always check your trigger warnings and your tropes. This is a story that to many people can relate too.
Book 2! I never knew I needed a book 2 as much as this one! Sooooo much comes together in this book and the spice, my oh my! This is a multi person point of view so it took a bit more to get through and remember who’s pov I was on! Truths are finally flying free for em and aldean! Emotionally raw and real this novel is not an easy one! Real life struggles are happening, it’s very relatable! Can’t wait for #3
This series has hooked its claws in me and will not let go. It has been a long time since a series has taken hold on me so strongly. You can so easily connect with Em and Alden. There's a lot of trauma unburied in this book. The emotions the characters feel are so raw and so real you can not help but feel them too. Again with the ending, ughhh. This is another one I'd recommend reading the trigger warnings on.
This is a continuation. Em the FMC is working through past trauma well still working through mental health issues. I can still relate very much to this book. It's kind of scary how much I can.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a clusterf*ck of emotions this book put me through. The spicy scenes did make up for it though. 😏 Loved it, loved the dynamic between the characters and how Madilyn accurately describes Em’s mental illnesses and how she goes through them. Talk about relatable. Was not expecting the plot twists or the way it went, left me in shock. 😭 I love Em’s mind and her thoughts, some of them had me laughing out loud alone in bed like some deranged psycho. Now I’m going to rot in bed and devour book three. 🖤
