Eve Wilson thought her day would be just like any other, until she finds herself kidnapped by a vengeful man who mistakes her for her sister. Despite his cruel behaviour, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to her captor. However, when her true identity is finally revealed, and she is returned to her own life, Eve is shocked to discover that her sister has caused irreparable damage in her absence. When her captor resurfaces, and begins stalking her every move, Eve realises that she might still be in trouble, because it’s not her life that is in danger. It’s her heart.
M.J. Perry is a mother of two, and wife to her very own prince charming. Her favourite things include coffee, chocolate, pizza, and anything Disney. She's an avid reader of romance books and a sucker for a happy ending, which is the reason why she started writing her own stories.
dudes brother kills himself because he starts dating a woman who was very cruel to him.
he tries to kidnap her but instead kidnaps her innocent angel baby sister instead. lowkey almost rapes her but doesn’t. does kiss her on the mouth and holds her down while she’s crying her eyes out. thinking it’s the evil sister the whole time. for revenge. he’s planning on keeping her as a slave.
then he finds out he got the wrong girl. feels very bad. but forces her to not tell anyone. causing everyone to worry about her. her evil sister told everyone she was off being a whore. she’s acting weird but she promised not to say anything and she keeps that promise for some reason.
but it’s all ok!!!! bc they fell in love at a masquerade ball several years prior!! and have been pining for each other since!!!
then he makes a new plan for revenge. he keeps popping up on her and telling her it’s all gonna be fine.
his new plan is to tell evil sister he’s planning on getting engaged but he never says to whom. she’s dating a guy for money and blows him off to get with kidnapper. not knowing that he is kidnapper/mask man. they hang out literally twice in a month span at best I think.
then the parents invite her to an engagement party. she shows up thinking her sister is getting with howard. but really it’s kidnapper. she’s devastated but hiding it. kidnapper has a “talk” with the dad and asks to marry angel sister and not evil sister as he has tricked them all to believe. he proposes the sister attacks her and then tries to murder her. she goes to the hospital.
and then somehow. he lowkey kidnaps her again but like very nicely and manipulatively? and she stays with him the dad divorced the mom. happy ending.
also her family enables her sister, her dad ignored that the mom and sister were vile to the angel sister. and he used that to justify it all.
it felt like an insane reddit post fr. I did enjoy it for like half of it bc I thought it was all going to be redeemed at some point. that’s what I get for reading a book from a cringe tik tok post.

This book is a combination of red flags, a weak FMC and more red flags.
Spoilers ahead, as I summarize the entire thing in less than 300 words..
Quick recap, our FMC Eve, an innocent 26yo schoolteacher is kidnapped and mistaken for her spoilt and nasty older sister by our MMC. He wants revenge against big sis and abuses and nearly rapes our FMC several times. It’s not quite rape, but she is sexually assaulted. Then she remembers him from a masked ball as “the love of her life”.
MMC realizes Eve is not her sister and lets her go, but continues to stalk her and harass her and sexually assault her some more, not respecting her no, mentally torturing her, etc.
It ends when MMC gets his revenge against big sis by proposing to FMC in front of big sis. Big sis freaks out and assaults FMC and she ends up in the hospital. MMC kidnaps FMC again and actually rapes her this time, but is romantic, because he makes her orgasm……… yeah, red flags galore….
Not very good. I feel like the storyline had potential, I often like the accidental kidnapping trope. But this one had zero character development, no groveling, I mean he assaulted her and then was just like whelp I love you though. She was a pushover for her whole family and just rolled right on over for the mmc too. Plus the dad at the end? Puhlease. He watched her be tortured by her mother and sister her whole life and then was like if only I had known! Buddy Helen Keller could’ve lived in that house and known, but of course she also not only forgave him but also apologized to him! The writing was clunky at best to put it kindly. This is the first book I’ve read by this author so not sure if this is an anomaly or just how her writing it. I don’t think I’ll try another one.
To be honest this just wasn’t for me. The plot and potential for being great were definitely there, it just didn’t quite translate well onto the page. Like I said the initial plot had great potential, and having the “mean girl” sister provide the other woman drama again was a solid idea, I just don’t think it was well executed. Despite the forming connection between the 2 main characters there were a good number of plot holes that were never really explained, why did the mom/mum hate her daughter? Did Selena ever actually get punished for her actions? (beyond the 2 or so lines with the engagement, despite the fact that this was supposedly the main plot point of the book), how did Eve manage to cycle through emotions so quickly? (From fear, to love, to hatred, to heartbreak, to anger and back to love all within the space of a few seconds) then there’s Seb? etc. There were just too many unanswered questions and not enough explanation for the feelings for me.
Eve, and her mother and also her sister have a complex relationship. The deal, Eva sister is evil and cold -hearted also very selfish. Their mother is harmful, hateful towards her daughter Eve. Jackson brother died from a relationship with Eve sister. This a great story to read. It is interesting.
This is the stupidest thing I’ve read in a long time. And I read a lot. A modern Cinderella story of sorts. Selena is evil beyond measure and gets away with it. Mom is worse. Dad is totally spineless. And Eve, the FMC is so spineless is nauseating. Why anyone would find that attractive is beyond me. My advice, skip this book. It is simply horrendous.
I like a short story but I really feel this book could have been so much more. There was such a good story there but it being wrote as third person ruined it for me. It wasn't believable at all. I think Jackson could have done so much more to grovel. There could have been so much more in this book.
The book was okay. The writer had a good base for a story. Spoiler alert MMC stops himself from taking the FMC without consent. MMC was too much of a jerk. I wish as the story developed that he would have groveled. The FMC was written to stay weak. The story needs more and was just rushed.
Felt like th story was rushed , no enough back ground details and felt unfinished like we never got answers to the hate being thrown at the female character. Random bits can up no where like the ball where the first met , felt like we should of had at least a few pages to explore that and get some background info on the start of the relationship.
Not horrible but not great. A bit cliche in part. No explanation for Selena or Mrs Wilson's behavior is ever given, and Eve is a complete doormat. If she had the tiniest bit of common sense she would have gone no contact with that family years ago.

Mistaken Identity. I would say enemies to lovers except she didn't know she was the enemy. I had a lot of sympathy with both the main characters of what they were going through. I am glad they found each other in the end as they both deserved the HEA
This story has a pretty good plot, revenge, mistaken identity, romance, and that hooked me in, but the story unfolded very simply and formulaic. Would love to see this story with more nuance and complexity.
It was an ok quick read. I would have enjoyed it more if it was longer with more character development. I had a hard time liking Jackson, more time to see his complexity would have helped also the ending felt rushed.
The first 10 chapters were amazing and had me gripped, however I found the ending a bit too rushed and unbelievable. Would of liked more depth in the reconciliation but other than that worth a read
I hatet det ending. it felt rushed and i dont understand how she can have so strong opinions all the way and the all of the sudden its gone. And he didn't grovel just said he has sorry and then everything is supo to be okay?
After her sister tried to kill her, she just like ' i hope my sister is okay'. Okay What? Her mother and sister treated her like a trash and she is still nice to them. She's stupid and WEAK.
Hmmm. I cant help saying this, but it felt like reading ine of those translated chinese novels. Story could have been cute if it were outlined more. Definitely too short to make it make sense.
