Structure, Function, Integration: Journal of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute

Rate this book
The July 2023 (Volume 51, Issue 2) Structure, Function, The Journal of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® (SFI) is written by Rolfers®, and it is for Rolfers, structural integration (SI) professionals, manual therapists, somatic educators, movement specialists, and everyone who has an interest in the structure, function, and integration of their own body. In this issue of SFI, ongoing columns focus on microgravity research, pricing strategies to consider when delivering Rolfing® SI in the United States, and cautions when working with people who have autoimmune disorders. Our primary theme is ‘Space, Ground, and Gravity’ with articles about the SI perspective of living and moving within the Earth’s gravitational field. Of note, Rolf Movement® Instructor Kevin Frank is interviewed about the relevance of gravity orientation when supporting our clients to experience a postural change and improved motor patterns. Rolfers are perpetually interested in topics regarding the anatomy and function of the head. For our secondary theme, ‘Our Face, Our Voice, and Our Words’, we have authors offering poetry, personal studies, a podcast conversation, and recovery stories relating to the visceral space of the head. Lastly, and of great note for those of us in the structural integration community, legacy faculty member of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute, Jan H. Sultan, shares his insights into “The Mysteries of the Sacrum.”
