It was a fun, light read.

I felt like it was a solid 3 star for most of the book but then by the end I realized that everything Tasha wanted she just got. It’s easy to “do it anyway” when you have clear guidance from God on what and how to do something. But it didn’t show the complexities of listening to God when you’re unsure about how to proceed, if it’s really Him speaking, etc. I just didn’t feel like the book is applicable to most Christians’ walk.

It's easy to look at this book and say..well, here is another artist looking for attention... but that's not it.

If you picked up this book, it's because you have listened to her music, and your heart has been stirred to know more.

She gets very real and raw in here while giving all honor to God. Her music and her story show you how God has never left her and will never leave us. Even when it's hard, stay at His feet, trust Him, and do the hard thing anyway.

In Do It Anyway, Tasha Cobb Leonard shared how we need to refuse to give up and to do it anyways. She is the hit Christian artist who sings, Break Every Chain. She attended the Stellar Gospel Music Awards on January 18, 2014 with 7 nominations and she felt she was living the Ephesians 3:20 dream. She had just released her first album that reached a top ten list on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums of the year. She won New Artist of the Year. It was extra special because her dad was there. Her dad had a strong work ethic and rarely would risk missing church. He was a ministry and love to share the message of the Gospel. The next day her father went home to be with the Lord. He suffered a heart attack while driving. Luckily, he took his foot off the gas petal and he just coasted into the ditch. He used his last bit of strength to remove his foot off the petal and this ended up saving his wife’s life. She explained how she had to choose to do it anyways and attend the Grammy’s. She ended up winning Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance.

Another section of the book, she explained how she battled with her weight. She realized she was in trouble when she was deeply out of breathe one day walking to the car. She used to be athletic in high school and she stopped worrying about her health. She wasn’t exercising and eating right. She prayed and sought out help and had weight lost surgery to help her maintain a healthier weight. For three years, she was successful in working out and eating healthier. Her and her fiancé both struggled with their weight. She shared this story to remind readers to do it anyways even after you fail. Weight lost is a journey that you have to battle every day. She shared how she had to walk through the process of healing while waiting for God’s deliverance. She felt this was her torn in her side but it helped her to stay aligned with God’s will. She shared how she also lost her voice and was struggling singing like she used to. They found out she had a polyp on her left vocal cord. Even though, she couldn’t sing during this time she still could praise God.

I would recommend this awesome book about choosing to do scary things anyways. I immensely loved how she enclosed helpful review questions and a quick recap to help us to dive deeper into the message. One of my favorites discussed giants and how important it is to be honest with ourselves. Her story was inspiring to read about how discovered her love for music, how she got a label, and the challenges she faced.

Faith based inspiration!

Tasha Cobbs is one of my go-to gospel singers. I remember hearing her song, Break Every Chain, in church for the first time and almost passing out. The song, and her powerhouse voice really made me feel like the chains were broken!

In this short, self-help/motivational book, Tasha shares her journey to success and how God superseded every single goal she had! His favor brought her into rooms she never imagined and opened many doors for her. She powered through depression, grief and self-doubt to become a sought after, gospel superstar and entrepreneur.

It was a very encouraging and makes me want to stay the course on my own path. I’d recommend it for anyone needing a little push to keep pressing forward!!

Tasha narrated the book and the emotions really came thru, especially when she was talking about her dad. She was also very lively in her tones and sung a few times, which made this a quick, easy and entertaining audiobook!

Yes, Yes. Yes!!! This book is truly a blessing. Tasha Cobbs poured her heart out on the pages of this book and I was blessed as a result of it. Her willingness to be vulnerable about everything from her battle with depression to the battle with weight Tasha held nothing back. This book served as an encouragement as well as a push to move forward in the gifts and talents God has placed within you. I highly recommend this book not only as a personal read but it would also make a great gift.
Thank you NetGalley and Waterbrook & Multnomah for the opportunity to read this book.

We all have life experiences, some good, some bad, some ugly. Tasha Cobbs Leonard shares her journey through it all. Her highlight is a quote from her father regarding "staying at the feet of Jesus." This great golden nugget has brought her through many situations. While readers may not have parallel experiences to this author, they can still be encouraged, uplifted, and even strengthened. Jesus used this vessel to deliver His Word and I encourage everyone to hear what thus saith the Lord through His servant.

I started this book last night and just finished it!! Omgeee Tasha Cobbs Leonard!! This book has definitely touched me in such a way. Stay at the feet of Jesus!! DO IT ANYWay! This book definitely made me want to attack some areas in my life that I haven’t fully stepped out on faith because of FEAR! Man her story has touched my heart. This book made me smile, cry, praise God, laugh, and stop and re listen to songs by her that touched my heart. You never know how someone has got into their purpose in life. But I do know that God says in Romans 8:28 and we know that all things work together for good to then that love God, to then called according to his purpose. Trusting God is everything. Yes we are human so sometimes we talk ourselves out of what God is calling us to do but we have to be faithful, pray and take a leap. God won’t leave us or forsake us. I am so happy that I read this book and I was able to stop and thank God for my purpose over my life. I am so grateful I listened to him and went back to school and I know that I am fulfilling his purpose because it has been nothing but greatness, happiness, fulfillment and the wanting to do more because of him. Something stuck out to me while reading was in chapter 10 in the waiting no matter what diffcult season you might be experiencing, it God promises something to you, it’s going to happen. We gotta have faith, patience and keep believing.

Where fear is great, our God is greater!! Wow!! That’s so true!!

Also the scripture psalm 138:8 which I think is one of my favorite scriptures now lol. Mentioned in chapter 11.

Her story about her life and what she went through was such a testimony. God will put certain people in our lives to get us to where God has already designed us to be!!

Sorry y’all I really loved this book! I loved power moves by Sarah jakes Roberts as well y’all gotta read that one. These two books definitely open my eyes to purpose driven lives and putting God first and trusting him to get to your highest potential!!

I passed this book by the library by chance and I picked it. I knew there were undertones of God and religion but I thought it would be okay and Im open to different perspectives. I checked this book out, because I was hoping to take charge of my life and do better w/ what I want to do in my life (still figuring this out).

Tasha gives recollections of her journey which is definitely inspiring but personally it was a bit alienating at times for me because Im not Christian nor do I have faith in God, as some people who read this book might. So some of the verbiage "stay at the feet of Jesus" and things she mentioned in her book was new to me, or I didnt understand. I also struggled with her journey because the chapters were not linear. I understand that they were describing examples in which she found grace, or time in which her faith in God continued, but it made for the complete picture fragmented. I found that distracting and hard to read.

I didnt know who Tasha was. And I didnt know how big gospel music scene was either. I ended up listening to "Break Every Chain" and some of her other songs. I can see why gospel music is appealing and while Im not religious by any means I do think these are some good songs. I really did like how vulnerable Tasha was w/ her faith in Jesus. There were questions after each chapter, helping the readers process what they read and allowing for more thinking and self reflection.

A few things that stood out to me was wen Tasha had wrote about God wanting her to study the spirit of rejection. "Get up, Tasha. I want you to study the spirit of rejection. You've been calling this depression, but your depression is a branch off the root of rejection." I never thought of depression as rejection so this was interesting to think about. Ill have to deliberate some more on this.

Another thing Tasha talked about was the source of the greatest fear, insecurity, is usually what you need to run towards. I think that's very apt and running towards rejection of what I want is so scary but needed.

One last thing Tasha had mentioned that stuck out to me was say yes before you find reasons to say no. While she mentioned God being graceful here, I think there is something to be explored - esp wen youre considering going after what it is that you want. Youll never be fully ready but you gotta go after what you want.

Ultimately I think the undertones of God made me uncomfortable but this was an interesting treasure trove of good info to read.

A great devotional that can be read in 2 minutes a day. Beginning with a verse, followed by a devotional and a prayer. I loved how the author was vulnerable and authentic in sharing her joys and her struggles as we can all relate. I especially like how she lovingly shared about her father and the legacy now being continued with this beautifully written devotional. Speaking personally God used this devotional to speak into my heart and life about doing it a way, about taking that next step of faith even when it takes me out of my comfort zone, even when it scares me.

My favorite quote was in #10 “No matter who you are and no matter what is happening, God knows you. If you’re sitting with a heavy heart, God sees you. If you’re praying for that friend in need, God hears you. If you’re looking at your checkbook wondering how you’re going to pay your bills, God stands beside you. If you’re weary and worn down, God holds you. If you’re afraid for tomorrow, God comforts you today.”

I had a truly meaningful experience reading and listening to this audiobook simultaneously. I especially appreciated that the author narrated her own book—it made me feel even more connected to her story. Her singing added a beautiful, personal touch that enriched the experience.

We all face battles that can lead us to dark places, and I deeply admire Minister Tasha’s transparency in sharing her journey. Her openness about the ups and downs of life, including struggles with depression, grief, and weight, was both inspiring and relatable.

I also found the love and support between her and her husband incredibly moving. They are truly each other’s cheerleaders, standing by one another through every challenge. Their bond is a testament to the power of encouragement and partnership.

This book left a lasting impact on me, and I’m grateful for the honesty and authenticity woven throughout its pages.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard delivers a refreshing and deeply inspirational read in Do It Anyway. This five-star book is filled with encouragement, wisdom, and personal stories that make its message both relatable and impactful.
One of the standout aspects of this book is how Leonard uses her own life experiences to illustrate powerful lessons. Her authenticity shines through, making the book feel like a heartfelt conversation rather than just words on a page. The messages of faith, perseverance, and overcoming obstacles are uplifting and serve as a reminder that even in difficult moments, we can move forward with courage.
Do It Anyway is a must-read for anyone in need of motivation and spiritual encouragement. It’s the kind of book that stays with you long after you turn the last page, offering hope and strength in every chapter. Highly recommended!

This book was phenomenal it really describes her hardships and discoveries in life and how she followed God through it all no matter the disappointments coming her way. I really enjoyed the way she discussed about her father and how he inspired her to keep moving on in spite and keep doing it anyway!! Any of how hard it may seem. I couldn’t put it down!! It was very inspiring to use towards my life and take everything by a time and take the time to let God use me in the way he wants me too and to follow his direction no matter the circumstances. It may seem hard but following God is the answer and prayer into the Holy Spirit.. I will buy this book again! Tasha is a phenomenal writer I also can’t wait to read her other book that she has. I do hope that she continues to let god use her in every way. It also has so much potential and testimony’s that motivates you to do it anyway Amen!!

Honey if I didn’t love me some Tasha Cobbs before, well baby I SURE do now! The most important & impactful thing I learned reading her story: Always remain at the feet of God, His glory & His grace will never leave you. Hearing her story, her persistence and the sureness she spoke over her life and legacy, along with her village gave me goosebumps and further proved when God truly has a calling for you… can’t NO ONE or ANYTHING get in the way of that. She thought her calling was just singing but man was it SO much more. God’s purpose for us is truly beyond our wildest dreams 💖✨ This book was short, sweet, but so impactful & hearing her sing during the audiobook gave me even more goosebumps. Highly recommend if you are struggling to find purpose or living in fear just remember: Do It Anyway!!!

An inspiring memoir by the incredible singer and worship leader, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, this book gave a new perspective to what someone goes through in order to become what seems like (from the outside), an “all of a sudden” success.
She pays tribute to all the people who mentored and supported her over the years and also opens up about her own struggles. Hearing her talk about her depression and battles with negative self talk was really helpful, it makes you realize everyone is human.
I think the most moving part was her story of recoding the Royalty album, live at the Ryman theatre, during the covid pandemic. She was going through SO much at that time, and it’s really moving to go back and watch those videos, knowing what she was carrying.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital arc.
This book is also fabulous on audio as it’s read (and sung) by the author.

Tasha!! TASHAAAA!

Wow!

While reading this book, I felt a strong connection with the author and her words. The book refueled my spirit and provided many inspirational "nuggets." It is truly a testament to her life, including her quoted scriptures, relationship with her dad, and her experiences as a whole. This book evoked a range of emotions in me; I found myself laughing, crying, and even pausing to sing to one of the songs/lyrics mentioned.

My greatest takeaway from this book was the message to do it anyway, all while remaining at the feet of Jesus.

To add this book even has discussion questions that are available to help you guide your thoughts while processing.

100/10!

I really enjoyed this book. Outside of the Bible this is definitely the best book I've read so far this year. Her words are uplifting and true because she is living a Christ centered life. My daughter checked it out from the library and now that I've read it I'm going to buy a copy to add to my personal library. If you have goals and or dreams that you are pursuing I think you will benefit from Tasha's book. Ever since hearing the song, "Your Spirit" I was a fan of Tasha's music and now I am also a fan of her writing because of Do it Anyway. This will be a wonderful addition to your reading list.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s story is so beautiful and this book is a testimony to God’s greatness. It was an absolute honor to read this book and her story is so inspiring. What I love the most about this book is how her father instilled in her at a young age to sit at the feet of Jesus. This is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life and is something that I tend to forget in this crazy world. Sitting at the feet of Jesus allows us to be humble and to be grateful for everything He has done and will do. I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I have!

I listened to this book and felt like I was listening to Tasha Cobbs Leonard over a cup of tea. She even sang a little which added to the beauty of listening to the book. She encouraged me to do it anyway and to trust God more. I didn't know anything about her personal life before the book, just knew her hit songs. It was great getting to know her more and get the story behind some of the songs that have had a huge impact on my life. I'll be getting a physical copy of the book so I can highlight and keep more detailed notes.
