First, let me set the perspective from which I evaluated this book. I've studied time management and productivity for a couple of decades at this point and am continually improving my own time management practices. I didn't read this book expecting to find a lot of new information or tips for myself personally. I wanted to see whether this was a resource I could refer others to as they ask about productivity.

There are some practical tips in this book, most notably on pages 26-27 as the concept of filter and flow is presented, page 102 on speaking productively, pages 170-172 on productivity systems, and pages 204-230 on filters. The challenge with this book is that it doesn't seem to follow a systematic process of presentation that would allow someone to quickly filter through to what they needed in the moment. It felt like every time productivity tip ever given was jammed all into one book. Which could make for a great resource for understanding what's consider leading time management practices but makes it challenging for a self-learner to use to actually improve. Where would they begin?

I think they'd get lost in a sea of good advice to a point where they could become paralyzed.

I love this little book on time saving and productivity. If you haven’t recently conducted a personal audit to see how productive you are, time to do one, and this is the perfect book for it. James advocates 15-minute meetings, 3-priority days, and non-negotiable dates in your week – and a host of other smart ideas. Take the time, read the book, save the time.
