Elements of the Void
This place is the planets best kept secret. And, just so happens to be the training grounds for those that have protected it for thousands of years.
They call themselves the Kept. As in, kept secret. For all they have done for the planet in the past, no one knows they even exist.
What began as an organization of assassins, hiding in the shadows, and protecting the earth from otherworldly threats.
It has now become a school for the future members of the Kept.
Children called “Potentials” are brought here from all around the globe to learn how to combat the threats from the Void. An unforgiving world of nightmarish creatures we call “Corrupted.”
Only a lucky few are selected to be the next generation of the Kept.
Those chosen, go through the Initiates challenge. From where only the ones that are able to control their gifts, are promoted to the next stage of their training.
My name is Tyson Zaine, and I am not a Potential. I’m only here because a member of the Kept saved me as a baby after my parents had been killed, and she couldn’t stand to leave a baby unprotected.
I was allowed to live here, and attend the school. But, unlike the others, I’m not allowed to leave. Ever.
The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve been put to good use by the school, as well as around the city. Doing odd jobs here and there to keep from being thrown out on my own.
I just turned 15 a couple days ago. How was I supposed to know the world as I knew it was about to change?
