This is a complicated story that exposes a great depth of feeling between Lillian and Sean. Their connection is steamy, conflicted and believable - their situation was like falling into a vortex; one moment soaring high and the next going low and getting anxious.

Medical drama with a swish - of a riding crop that is 😄

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this pacy and sexy, well written book.
It's totally different from all the English M&B that I read many years ago.
Loved all the "dressing up" stories & movie quotes.
The h&h are like the rest of the characters, believable & likeable. Makes you want to read more, which is always the sign of a good writer.
Highly recommended.

Lillian is a doctor at Metro Gen and meets Gene/Sean when he is on the job to tail her due to a drug dealer, he is a narcotics officer. They have a very interesting night during a Halloween party and then disappears, he is an amazing submissive partner for her and their chemistry is hot. Carina knows how to write with heat. This is one of many Metro Gen characters in her collection but each can be read independently. Always enjoy her novels.

This is book two in The MetroGen Downtown Kiss and Tell Series and it is Lillian and Sean's story and it is definitely a must read. When Lillian had a hard day at the hospital where she works as a doctor she just wants to let loose and be someone else even if it is just for one night so when she went to a masked Halloween party she just let herself go and we an amazing night with a masked man which was just what she needed knowing that she would never see him again. Sean is undercover at the masked Halloween party and had a great time with a woman that he was trying to get information from knowing that he could never see her again even though he felt a connection between them as it would derail the investigation and he couldn't let that happen. When Sean finds out that Lillian is in danger from a drug dealer all bets are off the table and he would do anything possible to keep her safe and protected regardless of the situation and outcome. Wow the chemistry between them was off the charts hot and you could feel the sparks flying around them and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next. I absolutely loved this book as it was so addictive and I can't wait to read more book's in this series.

This was a seriously hot mixed race book in the MetroGen Heat series about Puerto Rican paediatrician, Dr Lilian Hernandez and red headed, Irish narcotics police officer, Sean Gene Murphy. The book starts out at a Halloween party where both main characters are dressed up and Lily lets loose when Gene/Sean goes home with her and they share a very erotic time together despite them not having sexual intercourse. Sean was such a likeable character as he acts submissive to allow Lily a safe place to work out her frustrations and to find what she really enjoys sexually. Sean lands up going on three dates with her in disguise and then sees her during the day while he is working as a security guard in her unit whilst trying to track down the dangerous drug dealer who is still on the loose. It's a well developed story and the characters were interesting and relatable. There were a few grammatical errors.
The book ends rather quickly which did disappoint me as I was enjoying the read so much but it does have an epilogue and a downloadable free bonus read. I really enjoyed this erotic read and I thought the author did a great job writing about how Lily explored her dominant side and the manner in which Sean enjoyed being submissive but yet did not regard himself as a submissive. He allowed her to feel safe and normal and she could discipline him without repercussions. It was very tastefully done and in a believable manner. There were also some discussion points that the author included at the end of her book which was food for thought. An excellent read which I rate 4.5*.

I have to commend Ms. Alyce for her incredible imagination. This novel has some very interesting characters - people who seem to be ordinary physicians or police officers, but who turn out to be much more. The plot of this book gets a little convoluted, but does get resolved by the end. If you are looking for a fairly spicy read, Ms. Alyce lets her creativity really fly.

I feel I ought to mention that I sometimes find ebooks hard to follow (something about facing one small page at a time really bothers me) and this may have colored my review.

The second book in The MetroGen Downtown Kiss and Tell Series, this is Lillian and Sean's story. The story is well written, steamy, capricious, suspenseful, with twists and turns, and believable. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
