The book was good. I just hate the first book stopped abruptly at chapter 40 and I had to search for this second half. And I had to pay again just to finish the book. If thats how this author does her books I may not purchase another.
I liked the story and so glad she got her happy ending but I don’t see why it needed to be in 2 books? There was a lot of repetitive dialog. She kept saying the same thing over and over.
Although the storyline was good, the book was not edited and showed many inconsistencies. For example in book one (which abruptly ended with no warning) she refused to go to Sandy’s wedding. In book two she was the maid of honour? - and it talks about how she was forced into it. She didn’t even go!
Her mother said she wanted access to her granddaughter Winnie but then claimed Sandy’s child was going to be her first grandchild. There were many others too.
There wasn’t even spacing between fullstops and next sentences etc and it just wasn’t fair to the story.
I LOVED this duet. Such a fun laugh out loud read! Satisfying revenge for the fmc as she ends up with such a huge upgrade, the first mmc downgrades spectacularly and he knows it. The support characters are hilarious, especially Leisl's (fmc) granny. Lots of OTT drama with Leisl's completely unhinged sister, but sweet justice prevails and the 2nd mmc pushes back hard. Love how satisfying this story is, would've loved a second epilogue with a snapshot of maybe a year later? However all in all, a great read :)
The bad: Needs quite a bit more editing as there are typos and spacing/capitalisation issues ... if you can get past that, you'll really enjoy it.
Read both books in one night. Were they amazing? No not really. But the characters and the story were interesting and i just had to see how it would end. The writing had holes and most likely wasnt edited but i didint really mind. It felt kinda like a fanfiction or character ai but it was sweet and a fun read. Recommended as a short fun, romance read with spice.
Like the first half, the story is good - I did like it. The whole thing needs work though. It needs an editor - I can’t believe this has been released to kindle without one. I’m still annoyed at the price - it’s far too much for a book that needs editing and has been brutally sliced in half so the author can get double the money. Overall, yes I enjoyed the story but there are far better ones out there which have been properly edited and proofread and are half the price. If I could go back, I wouldn’t have bothered with it. At least it was cheaper than buying through a pay by chapter app.
This is one long story split into two books, therefore I will post this review and rating to both of these books. Cus it’s not really two books but one ongoing story.
Okay. Genuinely? I had so much fun reading this story. It was so silly and over the top but so much fun and I had to laugh out loud sometimes bc of their banter.
Liesl gets cheated on by her husband Merlin. He slept with her sister Sandy over a couple of months and knocked her up. His family demanded that he marries Sandy to give the kid a chance for a trust fund set up by his grandfather. In his will there is a stipulation that only kids that are born within a marriage will get access to a million dollar fund.
Liesl is heartbroken, gathers the information Merlin had on her computer and facilitates a deal with Isaia, Merlin’s arch nemesis. And while Isaia gleefully accepts, Liesl and Merlin end up falling in love. Which pisses off not only Merlin and his family (they still think they have some sort of ownership over Liesl) but also her sister Sandy. Sandy always wanted to get what Liesl had and hated Liesl’s guts.
Things escalate with Isaia pursuing a hostile takeover of their company, but also with Sandy’s delusions kicking into overdrive. But at the end all is well, Sandy is in custody for attempting to murder Liesl (yes really), Liesl is pregnant and engaged to Isaia (all within 3-4 months of them dating), he sold his companies and bought a homestead for them to start their life together.
There are a few things I don’t like, for example Sandys mental condition … it is said that she was on medication before her pregnancy and that he has some kind of illness, but it is never specified and it is handled rather clumsily. Her portrayal and how she behaved even in the upper echelon of their social functions (a gala to be specific) is just … so over the top and unrealistic. She’s … just the ultimate cliché villain who manipulates and hooks up with a bunch of people.
And the way Isaia chose to leave whenever things got intense and had to sort out his own thoughts on his own before talking to Liesl — I think this happened three? Ish times? And by the end I was simply rolling my eyes.
Liesl has a lot of baggage and talks about it regularly, comparing Isaia to her ex husband which is kind of annoying but to be expected after this kind of earth shattering betrayal of her trust.
Also the names? Maybe it’s bc I’m German but to read the very German / Bavarian / Austrian sounding name Liesl on page in this setting made me almost giggle at times. (Oh and I genuinely thought Liesl and Elsie (one of Liesl’s best friends) were one and the same cus the names are so similar. I was so confused at the beginning xD
Hm one thing I thought was … idk … was Isaia mentioning that he was hit as a child as a disciplinary action. And when he learned Liesl was pregnant he made a comment about their kid seeing his Grandma hitting Isaia with her rolling pin for their kid to be scared and behave. All with a “we’re immigrants. hits exist” kinda attitude.
And … dude no. I grew up with spankings as disciplinary option and I don’t wish it on anyone. And I dunno. I did not like how they glossed over it like it was nothing. Fortunately it was only mentioned twice and I was able to push that thought aside.
But … I think that’s about it?
As I said I genuinely enjoyed this book. It made me smile almost all the way through. I liked Isaia’s crude jokes and the way he breaks the eyes. I loved their chemistry and how no bullshit they were with each other.
I LOVED their families, especially Liesl’s Granny. Damn what a bold woman. Love her. I mean their entire family construct was just lovely. I love big families and the teasing and bickering and the genuine love and care they hold for each other.
And OH MY GOD having Fred (Liesl’s Brother) be the first one to demolish Liesl’s old home? Delightful.
(Oh yeah, one of the things in the book was that Sandy wanted the house but it was Liesl’s as per her prenup. So Liesl sold it to Isaia who tore it down to build a park for the kids of the community)
Fred and the entire family was so supportive - except for Liesl’s mom but u know what? I kind of get it. She was the only one who wanted to play nice and have the sisters reconcile, which is preposterous obviously, but I get where she was coming from. Cus I think my mom would have struggled the same like she did. But I’m glad she came around — and that the text even mentioned that she got to therapy and learned to set boundaries with Sandy at the end.
I just thoroughly enjoyed myself.
I liked Isaia being passionate and having a drive to build their home. I love that, after her marriage, Liesl began to rebuild herself. She’s a valued artist and was forced to take a step back from it during her marriage. She was molded into kind of a stepford wife and Isaia helped her find her again.
…
Yeah and all that within like 4 months? Ridiculous. Over the top. Dramatic. Silly. Funny. My cheeks still hurt from smiling all the time.
So yeah. Good book. It’s so OTT and silly but damn I had fun.
So the book is split in two parts, it has some wording errors and mistakes, but I would highly recommend this book. Take the leap and enjoy.
The full book was absolutely amazing, the world building was great in my opinion, the characters were great, you could really feel the connections, the emotions, everything as though you were right there with them or hell even experiencing it yourself. The story was well plotted out and I loved every twist and turn or even chaotic moment.
I found myself laughing, deep, tear pulling, gut holding laughs at some moments, then crying my heart out at others, getting angry at the villains, feeling the MFCs and MMCs emotions.
This book was a whirlwind, I’m definitely going to make my husband read it. I’m glad I took the leap to dive into this story and buy it.
A big thank you to the amazing author Tatienne Richard and I hope to read more of your works, you have a brilliant talent.
My only issue with the book is there was only two!!!
This book series is amazing!!! I found it by accident but wow!!! I read both books in a day and I'm actually gutted there isn't more (I'm hoping there's a spin off with the other characters or something similar). It's such a breath of fresh air that the female character is strong and fights back but also has friends and family that back her and love her that aren't toxic. Her second relationship may of started from a need for revenge on her ex husband but its so pure and he helps her heal, he helps her repair her wings as he wants to fly with her, not cage her! The author is incredible and I will be definitely looking into any other books they've wrote. I rarely ever review books I've read as often they can be disappointing with repeated plots and so much toxic behaviour or unnecessary drama but this book I had to review because absolutely 💯 wow!!!
At the conclusion my first review of book is remains the same for book 2. Great conclusion. Good story. Pacing done well. Would have like to read about the births of the children but it’s easy to imagine the happy ending without it. If this is ever published in a new edition I would suggest a really good editor for some of the grammar. It didn’t distract to much of the story but it gave me a few pauses in going back over sentences to figure out what the author was trying to say. This author has a very good knack for telling a well crafted story. (Also this could have been one book considering the chapters continued without starting over. I can only assume book 1 was published while book 2 was being written.)
Very well written, character development was great however, in some of the characters there needed to be some more attention in their development. I can honestly say I read both books within 36 hours! I wish the resolve of the characters would’ve been done better…what happened to Sandy? Janka and the cousin? Elsie and Isaias lawyer? I wish there would have been some background on the mom and her motives behind her unwavering support of Sandy, you did delve some into it but I felt it needed more development.
But overall, LOVED the book and your writing! Poster of this comment is NOT Nathaniel T but Selene (using my husbands acct lol) he’s more into history books😅
Absolutely loved these books (book 1&2 or part 1&2 as some are calling it). Now personally I read it on Kobo so it was free with my subscription, which meant I got to enjoy the book at my leisure. Saying that I read both books in 3 days. I loved the characters, absolutely loved her revenge and loved the characters. I actually found a lot of the sister’s behaviour believable (having experience with mental illness) and esp loved Granny 🥰
Def recommend. Yes there are some minor grammar mistakes in 2nd book but nothing major. It didn’t stop me enjoying the story and I’m just sorry her 2 friends didn’t get their own stories 🤞
The story is better than title implies. I tend to avoid the billionaire romance. I started to read waiting ad timer to run out author is good because it caught my interest. at times to long to get to point and priced to high since it was divided into two books. The writer has talent you read it and though not my type I wanted to know how it would unravel develope so I need up getting both books and I will look for other books by this author but will check. be sure one book is in one book if a fan of this genre not sure if suits its much better than you may expect.
This book was really bad but I still ate it up (my taste should really be less shit). But honestly NEVER let this woman EVER name her characters again. These are some serious bad wattpad names.
The list of horrible names: Merlin Liesl Fred Winnie Sandy Terrie Trent Craven Janka Isaias Elsie Meredith Myriam Seth Joaquim Matilde Enia Apolonia Sharon Mallory Torrie
Naming your characters like some of these name is honestly a hate crime against us readers.
With proper editing, this could have been a decent story. Without, we are left with a badly written telenovela. Entertaining yes, but only if you ignored all the repetitions and inconsistencies and typos etc.
The ending was quite a mess of things happening, and so repetitive. It focused on the same things over and over and we didn’t even get a proper epilogue with what happened with Sandy or her baby or Merlin and his family. I mean, at that point we were hooked on all these wacky characters, so we needed to know what happened to them!
Not sure why this became a second book when it could have just been in the first book since the first book ended abruptly. And halfway through the book there were spelling, grammar and punctuation errors to where sometimes I had to re-read certain areas because I needed to get into the mindset of the errors. It was still good but just confused why this wasn’t just part of the first book and why halfway through all the errors started to happen.
Reviewing Bribing the Billionaire's Revenge book 2
I like the end of the story. Figured it would be a happy ending but I would have liked to have known what happened with Sandy in the end. Would have liked to know how many children they ended up with and how everyone's life changed after Sandy. Could have done one last chapter that was 3-10 years later with updates on everyone from the best friends to Merlin and his family.
The story plot was really good and everything moved at a decent pace. I really disliked that this was split into two books for no reason! I would have preferred an actual second book that told more of their story or a spin off of Janka and the cousin! Also there is a lot of grammatical errors in this second part! It was very distracting at times as all the sentences were squished together!
I started reading this while playing a game on my phone. It popped up in an ad. I could not wait to finish it. But then, when it ended, I wanted more. This is every woman's dream. Revenge on someone who hurt her, a hero on a white horse to come in a swoop her of her feet. Treat her like the most beautiful woman in the world. It took me just 2 days to finish both books. Hope there's a 3rd book.
This is a story I couldn't stop once I started. I completed book 1 & book 2 in 1 night each after working an 8hr day. Granny was truly 1 of my favorite characters with her sass, take no prisoners tell it like it is persona (I pray was modeled after a real life person). These books are the whole package love, deception, humor (how I laughed out loud) resilience and so much more.
Fun story & spicy romance but I was annoyed that the book needed some serious editing still. Not sure why you would publish a book with so many errors such as periods without any spacing before the next sentence. There were also several grammatical errors. This might not seem like a big deal to other readers but it drives me kind of crazy bc it’s an easy fix if you’re willing to put forth the effort.
This was a good book, not great, good. The story trope is fun. Lisl is an interesting character. I loved Sandy, she was twisted. Sick and twisted. The translation was very good, but the food and holidays (among other tells) told me it was translated. Most Americans don't eat soup for breakfast. Thanksgiving is on Thursday and turkey and ham are prevalent. But it is one of only a few revenge series I've finished.
I kept seeing this ad for a reading app And kept seeing book one of the two book series. I wanted to read it so bad I downloaded the app and paid for coins to open each chapter. I didn’t think I would find the books on my kindle. Stupid hub! So when I ran out of coins and hadn’t even finished the book. Well like the dumbass I was I bought the series on Amazon. It was totally worth every cent!
The sequel flowed well. Really this should have been 1 book. This book wasn't my typical flavor but it very quickly caught my attention. I know the feeling of being in a long term relationship and being cheated on and tripping face first into a passionate romance that turned serious at a dizzying pace. Felt it. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Good book with a lot of unexpected turns. I was able to read the entire book in 1 setting. There were several grammar and editing mistakes that made me reread sections more than once to understand what I was that the author wanted to get across to the reader. Overall, it was worth the read.
Love the second part of this story. Didn't want it to end. I do feel like it could have gone another few chapters though to just wrap everything up. However, still a great ending. Isaias and Liesl are amazing characters. As well as a few of the other characters. Well written. Easy to follow the emotions throughout the book. Very happy I read this series.
I love this story, both books. It was gutsy, passionate, and interesting. Above all there were parts that had me rolling on the floor with laughter. To all men out there: that is how to love a woman. If you do not feel what is written into this main character you are not in love and you should never marry or pursue the woman you are considering.
Some of the wording, subject/verb agreement and word usage and spelling was off, but the characters were wonderful and their interactions were epic! I love Isaias the MMC. He is every woman’s dream! They were endearing together and their friends and family bonds were also hysterical at times! Great book! Will def recommend.
The story line is what pushed me to read the second book, but the grammar was lacking. I chucked it up to English not being their first language. I was hoping for a little more spice(I’m a smut slut); I’d give it a 2.5 out of 5 🌶️. Good quick read.
