La historia no está mal, pero tampoco esperes un desarrollo profundo de personajes o tramas complejas. Es lo que es: una lectura rápida y ligera. Se las recomiendo solo si les gusta leer libros cortos para entretenerse sin complicarse mucho la vida.

Adi is on a mission. Due to her grandmother's poor health, she decides that she's going to have a baby. She wants to make her grandma happy, but being a 23 year old virgin who is infatuated with her boss won't bring conception. She finds a website and is ordering the "supplies" (aka turkey baster and "magic juice") when her boss and unrequited love, Rhys, spots her. This whole novella is full of delicious steam (incuding the hottest "I'm in a meeting but I'm gonna take you just outside of camera view" spicy scene I've ever read). The way they danced around with each other was hilarious - they're both so hardheaded! But they're also 100% completely in love with each other. This novella made me giggle and kick my meet more than most full-length books do these days. I enjoyed it, and I can't wait to read more by Evie Rose and of course the rest of this series coming out on September 7!

So their story starts when Rhys saw Adi was planning to meet someone to be her sperm donor. You see, she's only 23 buy she wants to give her grandma great grandchildren. Hence, the sperm donor idea. But since Rhys saw her computer, he proposed another solution. She would be his "fake wife" and he would give her babies.
Apparently, he's been obsessed and in love with her the first moment they met, but he never acted on it. But thinking about the possibility of someone else impregnating Adi didn't sit well with him, that's why he proposed that plan and that they have to do it in the old fashioned way.
They got married quickly, but he didn't sleep with her for a month. He gave her O's but he wants her to love him before they do the deed. Turns out receiving countless O's in a month made Adi fall in love with Rhys. But based on her POV, she's been crushing on him even before they met. So I guess, she's already in love with him too or maybe halfway there before they got hitched.
Anyway, this is a good read, I did enjoy some parts of it but some fell flat. This is a novella so this is a quick read. If readers wants a fast paced, workplace romance then this would work for them.

Several of my GR friends loved this, but for me it was just too ‘insta’ to really be believable. Not surprising as it only had 80 pages, so everything happens in like a 2-3 day span.
Like they started talking to each other in a non-work related conversation for the first time, immediately then decide to enter into an agreement to make a baby, and fake marry. I thought that meant to pretend to be married, nope! Hero couldn’t wait another second to be attached to his true love of one day, so they get married on Day 2 of their new relationship.
Another thing that struck me as weird, in that first conversation, she said she was ovulating so they agreed to get started that very night (Day 1). But the hero chickened out, so he said they would wait one month for actual sex. Lol that defeated her whole plan of needing to get pregnant immediately. His reasoning was if they had sex too soon, she might not enjoy it and then she would not act natural as his arm candy at the big mafia conventions that he must attend, with all of his goons. His words, not mine. 🥴
I bailed half-way thru at the wedding scene, when he whispered during the vows to her what he wanted to do to her p*ssy. 🥴
Just wasn’t romantic at all, lame dirty talk with no meaningful or even remotely realistic plot, sorry 😖

Sweet and sexy office romance!

Since she doesn’t currently have a man in her life and she is not wealthy enough to afford IVF, she goes online to get the “Magic Juice” at a discounted price. She not only wants to give her grandma a great grandchild before she dies, but she also wants someone to love who will love her back. Her father left when she was a baby and her mother died, so she doesn’t want to be alone when her grandmother goes. Adi is a twenty three year old virgin with a crush on her boss, whom she suspects might also be a mafia kingpin.
The Hero: Rhys Cavendish - he is a billionaire mob boss that runs half a dozen major companies. Miss Blake was working at one of them for nearly eighteen months before he showed up to check in on that company which was used mostly for laundering money from his illegal businesses. Rhys is a bit older that Adrianne but he fell for her the moment he first saw her and he has since been spending an inordinate amount of time at that company just so he can see her every day.
The story: When Rhys sees that Adi is looking for sperm donors online, he says she is not being safe and gives her a proposition, that he be the one to impregnate her and be her baby’s father. Mostly because he can’t even think of her being pregnant by another man. He has completely fallen for her and is obsessed with her. What he doesn’t know is that Adi has been crushing on him since she first met him, though she thought she, being a lowly assistant, would never have any chance with a handsome, wealthy man like him. So when he says he will father her baby in exchange for her being his “fake” wife, she agrees.
I have to admit, as silly as the premise was in this book, I didn’t mind it so much. I loved the fact that Rhys was so in love with Adi from the start. Usually these office romances play down the feelings of the grumpy boss and seem like the assistant is the only one crushing. The boss is always attracted and wants to get some, but I like the fact that in this one he is so in love with her. Though I am not too fond of the age difference, I am not a big fan of age-gap romance. I am even less fond of the virgin heroine. When I was in my teens and early twenties, I loved it when the heroine was a virgin, but now, it just seems too weird and makes the heroine seem too young and naïve.
This was a short read at less than 100 pages, though I was in the mood for something fast paced today, so it hit the spot for me. There was still plenty of story and some really steamy scenes as well. There was also quite a bit of humor which I really enjoyed.

Read 2: Still really love this story. Having read quite a bit for Evie Rose at this point, I’ve def read better but this is still pretty top tier.
Read 1: This is the first Evie Rose book I’ve read and I’ll definitely be checking some more of her out. Plus, the dirty talk was pretty high tier.
I’m not one for mafia romances but that didn’t play a huge part in this one and Rhys didn’t have the attitude a cruelty that a generally dislike from mafia bosses. So hopefully the rest of her books will be just as good. Looking forward to adding some of her stuff to my TBR.

4 stars. The audiobook is really well done - it’s on hoopla. I liked how this had some comedic relief compared to the usual insta love story and also that the hero wasn’t some overly self assured prick.

Listened to this on audio, the narration (Shane East and Evelyn Rose in duet) was phenomenal! I found it on Everand, so it was included in my subscription. I wouldn’t waste an audible credit on it though. It’s a short novella (audiobook is only 2.5 hours long).
H is a 42 year old billionaire mafia boss who runs a company in order to launder his money. He hires h, a 23 year old virgin, to be him secretary. They both secretly love each other but haven’t said anything because of their secretary/boss relationship. The h’s grandmother is old and has asked her for a great-grandbaby, so h decides for find a sperm donor. She finds a sketchy website and is looking at it on her work computer when she’s caught by H. He is horrified but decides to use the situation to his advantage and tells h that he will give her a baby “the old fashioned way” in exchange for her pretending to be his “fake” wife and going to events with him. She of course agrees and things take off from there.
Aside from the above, there’s not much of a plot. But the smexy times were 🥵 and Shane East made it even hotter!

I actually really enjoyed this. It was short and sexy and very surprisingly sweet. Even though it wasn’t very long, I think it was paced really well and managed to tick every box it needed to. I’m pleased to say the least.

This was the best one so far. I really like Addie and Reese!! Was a great listen! Loved the fact that duet reading took place in every chapter versus a lot where the male reader does one chapter and the female does the other- I like it when the female lines are read by the female and the male lines read by the male. Makes it so much better.
Shane East’s voice is killer!! And loved Evelyn’s voice- pretty sure it’s Evie, the author. ♥️

Adi needs to get pregnant fast, her grandmother is sick and really wants to see her great grandchildren before she dies. IVF is expensive and takes time so Adi has ordered a turkey baster online and is ready to buy some random guys sperm online. Rhys sees the website and knows this is his chance to make her his. He has been in love with her for months, ever since he first saw her in his office. She asks why he needs a fake wife, he tells her he needs her to attend “The London Maths Syndicate” functions with him, he thinks she doesn’t know he’s a mob boss. It’s pretty funny, especially since she plays along.
They get married at her grandmother’s nursing home. He doesn’t have sex with her right away, he gives her plenty of oral and finger orgasms but tells her he’s priming her for when she will ovulate. He really wants her in love with him before he breeds her. Their first time together is pretty funny, he’s determined to confess being mafia and that he really loves her and clear up any other misunderstandings and she just wants the D, he has been priming her for over a month and she’s ready to blow. They finally consummate their marriage and he breeds her. Epilogue six years later with two kids.

I enjoyed this. But also, it's a bit ridiculous. It's definitely on the perfect wish fulfillment side with a dose of "I don't research to write". Here are some quotes:

Funny and spicy! I’ve read three of this author’s novellas in last two hours. Exactly what I needed on a cold day curled up on my couch! There’s insta love and chemistry, outlandish proposals, and comical thoughts from the characters.
Honestly if you want a quick, spicy, fun read with breeding kink and humorous light mafia moments, this author seems to be the perfect pick!

Oh I enjoyed the f*ck out of this. Honestly, I was looking for a novella to have exactly what I want (breeding kink), get to the point, very little conflict, lots of spice, and this hit on all fronts. Everything that takes me out of a novella (unrealistic scenes, lack of clarity around consent, etc) was perfectly explained away so I could suspend disbelief for as long as possible. For me, it didn’t exactly land the ending, so 4 stars, but it was everything I could want a novella to be.
