When her world begins to fall apart around her, there's only one person Aspen wants to turn to; her childhood best friend. After being apart for several years, she didn't expect it to be so easy to be around him again, nor did she expect the feelings she had fought so hard to suppress to return with a vengeance. But before she can figure out what all that means, she has other more pressing matters to attend to. Like dealing with the man who killed her father.
Hunter
The moment Hunter sees Aspen again, he knows why the two of them had always been so close. Unfortunately, it's not exactly the right time to tell her that the two of them were fated. She had just lost her father, after all. However, it also comes to his attention that he's not the only one after Aspen's heart and he vows then and there to protect her. No matter what it costs him.
Amanda K. Mann is a Cali girl, born and raised. She’s the mother of two amazing children, both a son and a daughter, and a wife to an amazingly supportive and loving Marine husband. Which means she gets to move every three years or so.
Animal lover and Supernatural addict, she spends most of her free time with her nose stuck in a book or typing away at some new idea that popped into her brain. Her blood type is caffeine and she is a sucker for cute otter pics.
Hunter is the last in the pack to find his mate. After a night out he’s woken by a call from an old friend who moved away with her dad years ago. They’d lost contact and had recently got back in touch. When he sees her again he understands their connection as he realises they’re fated.
Aspen is desperate for help. Carter, an alpha from another pack, had challenged her dad, killed him and now wants her to be his mate. When she runs to Creekwood she’s delighted that Hunter is happy to help her. Her feelings for him have always been strong but she doesn’t want to spoil the friendship. But they need to go back to her pack for the funeral and Carter’s not giving up.
A great story, with romance, light humour and a lovely HEA. Like the others in this series, I couldn’t put it down.
I received a free ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Hunter feels so alone without his own mate. Aspen is his childhood best friend who desperately needs him by her side after everything that has happened. As they head back to her pack to bury her father, the Alpha of the pack. Definitely head into more insanity than expected. The strong connection they have for each other is the only thing that keeps them going when confronted with an insane alpha. Hunter and Aspen definitely destined to be together as fated mates since childhood.
Fated mates! They grew up together but were separated when her father became alpha of a pack faraway. Reunited when Aspen lost her father, Hunter has to defend his mate.
I found this one to be the best one of the series. Not really second chance but best friends to lovers I guess you could qualify it as. Short read, but decent.
This was great way to end this mini series. I loved that Aspen and Hunter were friends in the past before they met back up in present. This is darker than her usual novellas but still love it. I highly recommend check out this series and her other novella series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
