Bathory

Rate this book
Madame Bathory was a demon. A nightmare. A story told throughout the years to ensure the obedience of children refusing their bedtimes. She was a monster who masqueraded as human, bathing in the blood of the innocent to keep her disguise until the righteous trapped her within the walls of her own castle… a sentence passed for crimes she felt no remorse for. Bathory was gone. A bad memory.

It’s funny how memories can resurface.

And so I did.

Waking in the rubble of my castle prison, I found all had changed. All but the hunger. I was free to begin again. To feed. A lifetime of roaming to sate my appetites. And where better to begin anew, but in the city that never sleeps? Only this time, I’m the warden of this concrete prison and beneath these concrete monoliths of sin and vice, I will rule again.

Another amazingly creative horror story from Candace, this time based on the legends of Elizabeth Bathory, also known as the blood countess. I love Candace’s take on the story and the way she merges fact with fiction. An absolute must read for all horror fans!

Candace Adams has once again created a thrilling horror story. Bathory, is based on Elizabeth Bathory, a Hungarian Countess who practiced Vampirism on young girls. Once again Candace blurs the lines between fact and fiction leaving you wondering if just maybe, there is more about the world that we just don't know. If maybe, not everyone is as human as we suspect.

This story is brilliantly written and Candace Adams has done a fantastic job bringing Elizabeth Bathory's tale to life. If you love books, where you cant predict what happens check this out.

Madame Lalaurie's story is definitely one of nightmares. Although she may have been a lesser known serial killer, she was no less disturbing. Her horrifying story with a Candace Adams twist. The twist that blurs the line of fact and fiction. The possibilities that are brought up will leave you wondering,  long into the future, making you question, which part of the story is fiction. Another absolutely mind blowing story by Candace Adams.
