In the late 1970s to early 1980s he drew fantasy ink pictures for the Dungeons & Dragons Basic and Expert game rulebooks. He first gained attention for his 1980s comic book series Elementals published by Comico, which he both wrote and drew. However, for reasons unknown, the series had trouble maintaining an original schedule, and Willingham's position in the industry remained spotty for many years. He contributed stories to Green Lantern and started his own independent, black-and-white comics series Coventry which lasted only 3 issues. He also produced the pornographic series Ironwood for Eros Comix.

In the late 1990s Willingham reestablished himself as a prolific writer. He produced the 13-issue Pantheon for Lone Star Press and wrote a pair of short novels about the modern adventures of the hero Beowulf, published by the writer's collective, Clockwork Storybook, of which Willingham was a founding member. In the early 2000s he began writing extensively for DC Comics, including the limited series Proposition Player, a pair of limited series about the Greek witch Thessaly from The Sandman, and most notably the popular series Fables

The final battle was visually spectacular but it still ended in a bit of a stalemate, so I guess there's another more final final battle to come. I can't wait!

Frau Totenkinder/Belleflower deserves her happy ending after everything she went through. And I'm ready to take a detour and see what the cubs are up to. Protect Ghost at all costs!

A nice collection of diverse stories relating to the Fables universe. As a special edition which I read a long while back I remember enjoying it then more than I did this time.

While the artwork is still often good and some of the stories are nice, jumping from #6 to #100 did not work for all the stories. I guess there is no reason to think it would, really. That is the great downfall in this series, you need to have ALL of them and you need to read them in EXACTLY the right order or you struggle.

Over all it's a solid read with beautiful artwor, but one thing and one thing only makes it so I can't rate it higher. That is to bad, because #100 re-ignited my interest in the Fable universe. I recomend it to people who likes the Fable universe or/and collects the series.

Great conclusion to the Mister Dark/Bellflower duel. Great set up for future stories and the extras in this book are charming and fun. I especially enjoyed the Bufkin story. On to #101!
