When Kelly came home to visit her parents, the last thing she expected was to see her old flame. Growing up, they were inseparable, until she caught Brett in a compromising position with her best friend the night before she left for college. Though Kelly thought she moved on, the second she saw him her heart wanted to reconnect—even if her mind didn’t. The problem is, she's not ready to let go of her hurt and hear his side of the story. Now, Kelly’s back for a few days, the same time as he is. Could this be his chance to right the misunderstanding, or is she still too angry to talk to him? Things start to improve, until Megan, the girl Kelly thinks betrayed her, makes an appearance. Will the three work things out? Or will Kelly and Brett part, but this time for good?

A quick heartfelt romance, but thought that it would have been more fall themed with a name like “Pumpkin City” in the title. 🎃 However still a fun short story.
