整本推理真的让人眼花缭乱，我感觉自己更像是在看魔术表演，而非推理。对真实事件的改编算是一大亮点（不然我可能都不会看下去）。

Logical Fallacies
Tomoyuki Shirai, winner of the 2023 Honkaku Prize and first place in Japan's Top 10, begins his book with a description of the real-life mass suicide of members of the "Heaven's Gate" cult in Jonestown in 1978. This tragedy immediately sets the narrative direction. Not only did it shock the world and demonstrate the powerful human urge to shift responsibility for their lives to a strong leader, even when their orders contradict basic instincts, but it also served as the basis for numerous action-packed books, both good and varied. Recent examples include "The Reef" by Alexei Polyarinov, "Seven Ways to Pickle Souls" by Vera Bogdanova, and, of course, "The Running Grave" by J.K. Rowling.
"God in the Locked Room" is one of the "various" ones. In 1975, detective Takashi Ootoi travels to the Guiana jungle to find his missing assistant, Ririko Arimori. The young woman has repeatedly demonstrated remarkable insight and a knack for making accurate deductions, drawing connections between objects in a crime scene that neither the police nor he himself had noticed. Coming from a good family, she lost everything when her mother, after her father's death, invested the family money in a Ponzi scheme. The organizer was declared bankrupt and managed to escape punishment, but Ririko is determined to unravel the mystery and bring the scoundrel to justice, whose trail she recently uncovered. Only to discover that he works as a manager at a brothel, and the money from the defrauded investors has flowed to the true beneficiary—the leader of the Peoples Temple cult.
Seeking to expose and punish him, Ririko travels to the Guyanese jungle, where her trail is lost. The boss follows her there, bringing along a Korean journalist as a backup, promising him a sensational report. At first, the friends try to pass themselves off as new adherents, but then they manage to join an inspection team auditing the community's compliance with non-profit organization requirements (tax incentives, financial support, and so on). Finding the employee safe and sound, Otoi persuades her to return immediately, but she's already determined and refuses to budge. Especially since there's plenty to marvel at.
About a third of the community's members are people with physical disabilities of varying severity, from disfiguring scars to amputated limbs, and all of them are convinced they have been miraculously healed thanks to the leader. So, literally, a guy with his legs severed, confined to a wheelchair, is convinced his legs have grown back, rather than using them out of gratitude for the wheelchair he's become so attached to during his illness. This is closest to Styopa Likhodeev's telegram: "Thrown to Yalta by Woland's hypnosis," when the hypnotic abilities of some superhuman are ascribed capabilities a thousandfold greater than the actual power of suggestion. Forgive me, but it's one thing to hypnotize one person and program them to perform actions within a limited timeframe. It's quite another to do the same with hundreds of people, keeping them trapped in an illusory reality 24/7.
And that's just the beginning. Immediately upon the auditors' arrival, people begin dying in the Temple of the Peoples, just like in a (bad) detective story—in droves, in incredible ways, like being cut in half. The lion's share of the novel is devoted to reconstructing and explaining murders, mostly at or beyond the level of idiocy, such as sippuku (inflicting multiple stabs on oneself in the back) or cutting oneself in half with a taut wire. All of this is completely devoid of empathy, based on faulty conclusions based on false premises, and endlessly refuted by the investigators themselves to launch into even more absurd explanations.
"God in the Locked Room" is one of those cases where you constantly catch yourself thinking, "I wish they'd all die soon, so this farce would finally end."

То есть, буквально, парень с отрезанными по самое не хочу ногами, в инвалидной коляске, уверен, что его ноги отросли заново, а не пользуется он ими из благодарности к коляске, с которой сроднился за время болезни. Ближе всего это к телеграмме Степы Лиходеева: "Брошен гипнозом Воланда Ялту", когда гипнотическим способностям некоего сверхчеловека приписываются возможности, тысячекратно превышающие реальную силу внушения. Простите, но одно дело, загипнотизировав одного человека, запрограммировать его на действия, ограниченные по сроку. И совсем другое - проделать это с сотнями людей, удерживая их в иллюзорной реальности 24/7.

Тотчас по прибытии аудиторов, в Храме народов начинают умирать люди, как положено в (плохом) детективе - пачками с невероятными способами умертвия, вроде разрезанного на две половины туловища. Львиная доля романа посвящена реконструкции и объяснению убийств, по большей части "на" и "за" гранью идиотизма, вроде сиппуку нанесением себе множественных ударов в спину или разрезания себя пополам натянувшейся проволокой. Все это напрочь лишено эмпатии, основано на неверных умозаключениях, исходящих из ложных посылов, и бесконечно опровергается самими следователями, чтобы пуститься в еще более нелепые объяснения,.

"名探偵のいけにえ"(The Detective Massacre) by Tomoyuki Shirai

This story was based on a real event that happened at Peoples Temple in Guyana. The name of the characters are tweaked but it's definitely close to the actual person's name.
The story is set in November 1978. It started out with an intense scene where everybody in the cult at Guyana is forced to kill themselves.
Then, the story goes back to Japan October 1978 where the protagonist, Detective Otoya finds out that his assistant Lilico went to Guyana and so he flies out of Japan to rescue her. Before the massacre, 3 people were murdered so Otoya and Lilico try to find the suspect. We see argument between the cult who believes that it is a punishment by God and the protagonist who believes this was murder.
This book was intense and had some brutal scenes that I did not expect at all from looking at this book cover.
The story tells us that whether you are in a cult or not, people do the craziest things.
I kind of wished the part where Otoya reveals the real murderer were shorter because it dragged. It was readable and was a page turner but that part felt long.

白井智之首次不以獵奇、噁心的故事設定和情節為selling point，轉而以現實事件為創作背景之作。雖仍保有白井智之一如既往硬核的邏輯流推理，但由於脫離了過往獵奇的故事設定，白井智之的問題也逐漸顯現。
得益於獵奇、噁心，而且脫離現實的故事設定，白井智之在設計邏輯推理時可以不用花氣力去說服讀者，他的邏輯推理之所以成立的前提是合理的。在此作中，由於故事背景是現實事件，自然許多元素都必須要令現實生活中的讀者能夠信服，白井智之那套嚴密的邏輯推理才能真正成立。然而可惜的是，書中有許多邏輯推理是沒辦法說服讀者的，如果只論邏輯鏈本身是沒太大問題的，問題是出在這些邏輯鏈本身成立的前提是不合理的。例如書中做出的許多推理，居然是因為某些落後的刻板印象，像是左撇子就一定會用左手拿杯子呀、西方人分不清東方人臉孔之類、患有侏儒症的人會長得像小孩之類的。
還有最後兇手的動機，這估計是我看完這本書最大的不滿了，有必要這麼偏執嗎？

朋友圈强势按头安利我他最喜欢的推理作家 如何强势呢 他直接给我买了有声书送我。。用通勤时间听 我听了半年终于听完了。前60%be Like 什么狗屎啊 70%噫行吧 90%？？ 97%？？！！
白井智之真的是主打一个漏洞多但是诡计猎奇。大埘为了让自己欣赏的助手理理子成为名侦探，酿造了918个人的惨案，动机既然是死对头侦探之死名震日本、被一个连环杀人犯打死，他不允许他的助手死于无名之辈，所以弄死所有人。我愿意称这个作家为日本推理届郭敬明，真 癫 呐。标题名侦探的献祭居然就是谜底 了，非要读到最终才能明白，算他牛逼。
但是漏洞百出。诡计是真的能被称为诡计的，好多推理小说都不够诡，但情节什么乱七八糟的，感觉就是他也铺垫，生铺硬铺。后面能connect the dots，但是也是硬联。慨叹真牛啊的同时也感慨什么玩意啊的程度。精彩又难看。也算独特的阅读体验了。

如作者自己所说是“奇奇怪怪”的推理。感觉每个案子每重解答（反转）都一般般，但是最后两重推理的目的又很有趣。最后的动机也一般般，但是整本书的结构也很有趣。总之就是皱着眉头但也算不错的阅读体验吧😂

哈，口碑两极分化的一本。還是挺喜歡幾重推理推翻又推翻的寫法。後面都算能圓了前面留下的破綻。最後的動機雖然看上去荒誕，可是現實確實存在很荒誕的人和事啊，正如原型的案例。這本描述倒還不算獵奇。

October 10, 2024难评，白井还是那个设定系，而本作显然不够有说服力，他的推理逻辑诡计手法就显得很薄弱。除此之外，三重解答几乎是一模一样的逻辑，这让我很疲惫。唯一有点意思的就是最后的谜底“名侦探的牺牲”。对谜底的无语有点像《xxxxx》，但是xxxx讲故事的能力甩白井几条街都看不见背影。白井也许还是在自己的舒适圈里做个变态比较好。

To put the only and highly condensed heavy-duty reasoning in the last few dozen pages, it is really confident. Because once someone doesn't make it past the first 90% (which isn't a small load), they can’t get to any of the good parts (horrible sunk cost setup).

第一次接触白井智之的作品，确实被惊艳到了！虽然没有华丽的杀人手法和解密过程，但反转反转又反转的剧情还是看的很过瘾。完全能够看出作者想要创造出一个令人惊艳的作品，毫无疑问确实做到了。读完这本书后第一时间看了看推理迷大佬们的解说，bug确实也蛮多的......也有可能是作者故意为之也说不定。简体中文版刚上市不久便被抢空，网售也已变为“预售”状态，可见这部推理小说在国内有多受欢迎了。
