Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?

The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

I looove these dragons! And the wolves too, ofc!

Still, once again the new romance between this new triad also fell rather flat for me. Pity, as I was super excited for them, their dynamic and the premise sounded good.

Adar: alpha wolf, guard for the Hightower pack, fiercely protective of Oliver

Delton: beta wolf, trauma psychologist for the Hightower pack

Oliver: omega dragon, got also rescued from the abusive Murphy clan

Adar’s sexual cravings and Delton jumping in to provide help on that front was thrilling but all in all this was super slow burn and the triad hasn’t come very far by the end of their first book.

The overall plot was more exciting with the dragon politics, esp with Rhene and Erwan still attending the Dragon Council. I’m not sure what Nora Phoenix still has in store for this series but I’m excited to get to see more of Fitzgeralds Clan’s king, Fergal and that feisty omega Zacharias she newly introduced in this book.

I knew there would be a cliffhanger - there have been for the overarching plot throughout the series - but I'm not a fan of the "relationship" ending that way too. I honestly would have put off reading the book until the next one is out had I known.

This is such a slow burn, there is no romance in the story, and I really didn't feel a pull between any of these three men. There is the acknowledgment that Oliver and Adar are fated, but Delton is just there to help them out as he puts aside his thoughts that he and Adar were fated. Neither Adar nor Oliver have any feelings that Delton is potentially their third, but that isn't even raised until the end and then the story ends. So yes, slowest of burns since there is no coupling for anyone here.

I did like the rest of the storyline, continuing the meeting of the dragon council and the fallout from the cliffhanger in the previous book. I liked the new characters introduced within that plot as well. I also did not at all mind the cliffhanger with Rhene. This is the strength in the story and I wouldn't have minded if it all had focused on that alone.

Nora Phoenix's shifter series is one of the few I'll read off the bat even knowing there'll be a cliffhanger because it's just that good.

Here the main series long plotline takes a huge leap - no spoilers here, mind, you'll have to find out for yourselves!

There's also obviously a primary romance narrative in this book two which will also continue into the next one, and that's why this was a 4* rather than 5* for me.

I'm very much interested in the three of them, each character is compelling and there's unique issues between each of the three angles of this triad.

My biggest concern is that it's still very much unbalanced in this part, which makes absolute sense, I've no issues there. I'd just have liked a bit more movement on getting them all on page trying to see if they were a genuine triad than having to wait for it all in the next book.

There's very definitely very strong friendships in place and the potential is hinted at, but I'm greedy and I wanted just a little more sign from Adar, because Delton is such a sweetheart and he's hurting already with his unrequited feelings.

I did appreciate that Oliver isn't allowed to get away with messing up simply because of his past traumas and that he was self-aware enough to know he'd screwed up badly.

Overall though, this is another cracking good entry in this universe.

#ARC kindly received from the author. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Rating: 4.5
Steam: 2
PoV: multiple, 3rd person
Genre: paranormal romance, omegaverse, MMM
Main tropes: suspense, fated mates, past trauma

Nora Phoenix kept me up until 5 in the morning with this suspenseful, slow burn romance - I just couldn’t put it down!

There was a lot going on in this book; Rhene and Erwan at the Dragon Council, some of the clan / pack planning for a rescue mission and the slow, slow burn romance between Adar, Oliver and Delton. The story went back and forth between the couples and their situations, and even if there was a lot happening, the story felt very coherent and easy to follow.

I loved how things slowly built between Adar, Oliver and Delton though, as they’ve been kind of circling around each other for a long time. I’ve loved to see how Adar’s been protecting and guarding Oliver since his arrival, always so respectful of the omegas boundaries. The pining from afar, the heartbreak of seeing your fated mate fall in love with someone else… it was so easy to feel the pain and hope from all three of them, but especially Delton.

While there wasn’t a lot of intimacy on page between the couples in this story, the love between the already established couples was palpable. Adar and Oliver were mostly talking, with Delton present, about what a relationship between them might look like, and I’m looking forward to see the continuation of their relationship development in the next book. With Oliver’s traumatic past, Adar’s need for impact play, and Delton not really knowing if he even fits in with them… these three definitely have a lot of things to work through together.

Dragon’s Surprise managed to keep me on my toes all throughout the story, and I loved to learn new things about the dragon clans and traditions. I really didn’t want the book to end - and that cliffhanger… let’s just say the next book can’t come soon enough!

Hmmm

I’m not going to lie…I’m not sure how I feel about this installment of the series yet. I almost chose to skip this one after reading the Trigger Warnings at the beginning of the book. Impact play just isn’t my thing for reasons of my own, but I must say that the author handled it as well as could be hoped for I guess. I liked the development of the overarching storyline quite a bit, and the cliffhanger didn’t bother me at all. It was the central romance that just wasn’t working for me. It just all felt so cruel for poor Delton. I feel like no matter what he will always feel like an interloper or afterthought. It just really hurts my heart. That’s just my opinion though, and I will say that the book was very well written other than that, so maybe you should read it and decide for yourself.

First things first, Irresistible Dragons is a series that must be read in order, as the through plot continues to evolve with each story. The story also ends in a cliffhanger, which is to be expected at this point in the series, and both the main throuple, as well as the metaplot, end without resolution here.

As a reader, I’ve been looking forward to Adar’s story since he was mentioned way back in the Irresistible Omegas series. Though it’s not necessary to have read that series before reading this one, it definitely adds some depth to the experience, especially with the first book in the Dragons series, as well as the cameos from the Hayes Pack. But Adar was not more than a side character, albeit with an interesting twist.

All in all, this one is another winner for me. The world building is complex and inventive and continues to evolve as the characters learn more.

While this book continues a series, I was also happy to see that the love story was renewed a little from how the others came together.

Here, there was struggle and heartbreak, and keeping each other accountable without sweeping it under the rug because of being Mates. A very welcome change.

As always, the overall plot drags you in and makes you excited for the next installment.

I don’t understand the reasoning for cutting of a story, before it truly started!
I love the overall plot development, with the clans.
I did not love the new romance (or should I say ‘romance’?) Where was the pasion? The chemistry? Poor Delton was completely overlooked/taken for granted, even though he devoted himself to help in so many ways. All the talk and no action.. Where are the fireworks from the first irresistible omegas books?

My heart aches for Delton! At this point I don’t even want them to be a triad. It’s like Delton is the last option. I hope the next book can convince me that him Adar and Oliver should be together.

It was fine but not my favorite. I hate the device of leaving the book on a cliffhanger just to make sure you read the rest. If it's a good story I'll read the rest. No need to end it in an awkward spot.

Idk why I didn't write the review of this one, but here it goes.
I hate the fact of the throuple that leaves one behind, I love Delton, really enjoy his character, that he tries to leave them alone and walk away it seems really matured. But then Oliver fucking everything up and just revealing his secret, and trying to force a relationship that he doesnt feel between the three of them, really, really annoying.
Adar, it's like a love/hate. I can understand that he didn't realize that Delton has feelings from him, and the moment that he does, he said that he doesn't correspond those feelings. It broke my heart for Delton. But, it was really matured of him
Something that I dont like is the obsession between Adar and Oliver. Even Adar says it's not healthy. Idk. I'm definitely gonna read the next one.
It's just so annoying that the last to couples of this saga, I hate them so much, but really, really much. I hope they improved bc I love every other couple, maybe except Sivney, Nadar, and Lev, i dont like that one.

NEED MORE OF LIDON THOUGH

The way the relationship between Oliver, Adar, and Delton unfolds left me feeling really sad for Delton. Because of this/the way the book ended without any sort of resolution of the issues between them, I was left pretty unimpressed.

And don’t even get me started on the pedantic nature of a LOT of the dialogue. Like, who actually talks like this irl?? It’s been a bit since I read one of Nora Phoenix’s books, I don’t remember the others feeling quite so bad in this respect? Maybe for whatever reason I’m more sensitive to it at this time? All I know is, I can’t give this one more than 2 stars.

We were warned this ended on a cliff hanger, so that was fair, but I assumed it would be a resolved relationship as is the recipe in every other book. Nah, the relationship is not even a HFN it's a tentative open question---it's a triad, but it's triad that's struggling instead of instant love and acceptance--which, respect in a way--but I don't like uneven and it is. 1 feels something for 2 but not 3, 2 and 3 feel everything for each other but not 1, 2 and 3 had sex in front of 1 but not with 1 and the circumstances make it reasonable but the heart doesn't. 2 and 3 are still a unit, asking 1 to take a leap of faith at the end to see if MAYBE 2 and 3 can reciprocate and MAYBE 1 can form an attachment to 3 as well. It's long and drawn out, and interspersed with different character POVs as Nora Phoenix moves the overarching plot along to take it outside the tentative triad. But honestly this book was mostly pain and misery and unequal bonds. Not my thing.

Add into that it's a world where magic can help a biological baby of two men have traits of all 4 mates, and yet like 3 characters are basically want amounts to "trans" and "trans" as we know it in our world--where the biological doesn't change and it's all the non biological that has a person identifying as a different gender or secondary gender or whatever which is stupid to me. Why the fuck would you characterize gender around social norms, lines society has drawn to define gender, which can always change and are just based on the whims of a current civilization as a whole, when you could just be your damn gender, and stop basing it aka stop limiting everyone on what they can be with these asinine, whimsical society driven definitions meanwhile biology, which still can't change, thus is static and not whimsical, is apparently not as important.

Like for an example: say you have an alpha, but he wants to be taken care of instead of defend, and he's not territorial, instead of letting him think he's an omega in the wrong skin, why not just fucking accept that alphas can be limpets to be taken care of, as much as an omega can be an omega and a strong defender, and you don't have to change yourself and shouldn't have to fight for a new characterization spot just to make that acceptable. This isn't an example from the book, it's an example of what I'm trying to say. Gender is biological bc that's the true defining difference, it's not emotional ever changing choices and feelings. And just accepting that someone's gender doesn't define anything they can be or feel or want would be so much healthier than this hyper sub typing of every little nuance must be accounted for and labeled, and you must change your mold to fit into the box you want to be shoved in. Stop putting so much fucking importance on objects and feelings and putting them before the human being. The human being should come first, and that's only ever going to happen if you start letting people just BE and accepting, truly accepting, there's no correct way to be male, there's no correct way to be female, there's no correct way, when reading fictional books, to be alpha or omega, even if the vast majority of all these follow one pattern. Outliers are not aberrations. You do not need to stick yourself in another box or mutilate yourself to fit inside a socially accepted box. JUST. BE. Society needs to focus more on accepting that we don't need these damn boxes then trying to fit us INTO these damn boxes!

What I'm saying is even in this book, I noticed there's no true switching of biology. It's only social fucking norms. In a book where 1 kid of 2 biological parents can trait 4 mates, and wolves and dragon magic mixes, literally at least twice the characters have chalked up the unexplainable to "its magic"---the "trans" characters are still static in biology. They "identify" but there was no actual slide even between omega/alpha biology. One of them "had characteristics of all 3 they slid between" characteristics, but not biology. Characteristics, which I didn't take to mean height, muscular stature, whatever other physical differences, even reproductive, but rather whatever social norm traits are either the stereotype or socially accepted (of course alphas and omegas and males and females etc have to be a certain way, when if they're not then they must not be alpha, omega, beta, male, female etc. if every time someone doesn't present as they should, then you tell them really they are another thing, of COURSE you're never going to see these traits and think it is impossible and doesn't fit---and then you reinforce the stereotypes bc you've deleted the proof to make yourself comfortable).

So yeah, an unequal triad which found themselves at the end of the book exactly where they were at the start with no progress made, a book with MANY moral lessons shoved at you through dialogue, WAY too much therapeutic interactions/introspection bc one of our MCs is a therapist and let's be honest, these characters ALL need a lot of therapy, which ALSO serves as a vessel for MORE MORAL LESSONS, and the inclusion of trans ideaology, which I've explained why I feel is detrimental to society and not a progressive leap forward (progressive would be allowing people to BE and accepting that societal boxed norms are bullshit and should stop having more importance than humans and should stop defining us) makes this book a 1 star for me.

Hmmmm…

Not sure to be honest. I love book series like this that are set in the same universe with an overarching story that continues to grow and evolve, but at the same time each book focuses and follows a different relationship and love story. But damn, that ending was abrupt as hell. Yeah, didn’t really like that at all. So if you like a kind-of-conclusion / resolution in your reading like I do… here’s your warning: you don’t get one here!

There was so much to love in this chapter of the Doyle clan's journey that I don't even know where to start! The suspense, the lore reveals, the character arcs, the emotions--every single aspect was dialed in perfectly to leave me glued to my seat until I'd reached the end.

I really enjoyed getting to know Delton, Adar, and Oliver as their connections took shape, and some of the things they experienced together had such an impact on me. To say that these three didn't find their way together easily feels like an understatement. I've read so many romances where fated connections smooth out all the rough patches of people falling in love, but this story really challenged me to think about the other side of that fantasy. Delton especially felt like he went through the emotional wringer watching a man he thought was his mate find an instant connection with someone else, and yet his integrity and caring nature never wavered. I honestly don't know if I could have acted with the level of selflessness Delton did multiple times throughout the story, and I have so much respect for the way he carried himself.

Adar and Oliver had what I would consider more of a traditional start to a fated mates relationship, where they each felt a spark upon meeting the other, but they had their own set of challenges to overcome before they could pursue anything. Oliver had a lot of healing to do from the things he'd experienced in his past, and while that made parts of his journey feel weighty, it was also wonderful to see him regain his voice and be treated as an equal by those around him. Adar, while undoubtedly an upstanding and loyal man, was so protective of Oliver that he didn't allow himself space for anything else in his life--even the things he needed to keep himself centered. Delton ended up being a bridge for Adar and Oliver to express their thoughts multiple times throughout the book, and while I loved the way that brought all three of them closer together, I knew it wasn't healthy for them to use that as the foundation of their relationship. Don't get me wrong--so much of Delton, Oliver, and Adar's journey was heartwarming and hopeful. I loved seeing the three of them form friendships and open up to each other, and I really felt like Delton could have had an equal place in their relationship had they taken things slow and let feelings form naturally. But much to my own heartbreak, that's not what happened, and it wrecked me to see how much pain and confusion it caused all three of them. Adar, Delton, and Oliver didn't leave things off on a completely hopeless note, but the three of them have a lot of learning and self-reflection to do if they're going to rebuild their relationship in a more healthy way in the next book.

In parallel to the relationship building, the Doyle clan continued to make bold moves at the Dragon Council and take action to protect their loved ones. I was so stoked to get to know all the other clans, and while not everyone was on Erwan and Rhene's side, it was fascinating to see all the politics at work and expose the ugliness of some of the clans' actions. Baoth and Cladhaire did their best to manipulate and shut Erwan and Rhene down, but the True Doyles made some powerful allies that didn't let that stand. As if all of that wasn't enough to keep me engaged in the story, this book also brought closure to Queen Grian's storyline in a powerful and emotional series of events that left me aching. I seriously can't say enough good things about the direction this series is headed, and even when it hurts I know that Nora Phoenix will weave together some magic to put these characters back on the right path again.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

Dragon’s Surprise
Irresistible Dragons, Book 6
By: Nora Phoenix
Narrated by: John Solo

And to no one’s surprise, this book is absolutely amazing, well that is anyone who reads or listens to Nora Phoenix’s books and if you don’t you should, starting this series from the beginning, even better start with the “Irresistible Omegas” series, the world and characters Nora created are incredible. This book picks up soon after the fifth book, “Dragon’s Stand”, left off, but it also gives us glimpses into in the past, meaningful events that explain why things are the way they are. It is also the start of another relationship, fated mates Adar and Oliver, and possibly with a third, Delton. Adar felt the connection with Oliver the moment they met, but Oliver was broken, only a shell of himself. When it is time for his heat, he asks Adar to be the one to help him, and the protective Adar is honored, he asked. Delton, the pack’s therapist, has been helping some omegas get through their past trauma and Adar asks him to help Oliver and to be there for his heat so he could make sure Oliver does not suffer. Delton has feelings for Adar, but Adar is clueless and Delton, the nice guy that he is, agrees to do it. My heart went out to Delton, even Oliver caught on to his pining for Adar, but promised to keep it to himself, though that did not stop him from trying to have the two spend time together to see if it would waken something in Adar, because Oliver senses he may just be their third, like most relationships are within the pack. There is never a dull moment in this book, and I am loving how everything is playing out with the dragon council, though I am not loving how the book ended, mainly because the next book is not out and I need to know what happens next, not only for Adar, Oliver and Delton but for Rhene, Erwan and the rest of the shifters, especially the dragons. Nora Phoenix, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 John Solo continues to work his magic to deliver another exceptional performance of bringing the characters and story to life. His character voices and portrayal of each has been consistent, and it is amazing how he can voice so many characters and give each their own unique voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and has you feeling each one. John Solo’s versatility truly shines and his performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Siamo… Non so cosa siamo.

Buona lettura e a presto. ❤️

In this installment, Delton is convinced that Adar is his mate. He feels the bond deep in his soul from the moment they meet, even though Adar doesn’t seem to notice him. Delton, however, is willing to wait and bide his time. But when Oliver, a sweet and fragile omega, joins the pack, everything changes.

Nora Phoenix masterfully navigates the complexities of the relationship between Delton, Adar and Oliver . The deep emotions, the bond between mates, and the struggle to balance physical and emotional needs create a story that is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching. The introduction of impact play adds a new layer to Adar’s character, exploring the different ways in which individuals connect beyond the traditional boundaries of romance. This dynamic not only challenges the characters but also the readers to think more deeply about what it means to truly be there for someone you love. OMG I teared up a few times listening to this , I felt the pain of loving someone so much but ... I will not spoil it .

The story ends on a cliffhanger, leaving readers on edge and eager for what’s to come. The emotional turmoil and the unresolved tension between Delton, Adar, and Oliver are sure to leave a lasting impact. Phoenix’s ability to weave such intricate storylines within the fated mates trope keeps this series fresh and captivating.

Narrator John Solo delivers yet another powerful performance, perfectly capturing the emotional depth and intensity of each character. His narration brings life to the story, making it an even more immersive experience for listeners. Solo’s ability to differentiate between characters while maintaining the flow of the narrative is nothing short of impressive. I absolutely love John Solo he is one of my favorite male narrators .

*Dragon’s Surprise* is a beautiful blend of passion, vulnerability, and complexity, making it a standout in the series. If you’ve been following the *Irresistible Dragons* series, this installment will leave you breathless and anxious for the next book. I cannot wait for book 7

Spoilers Below!! Don’t read if you don’t want spoilers. You’ve been warned!

Meet the central characters for this novel!

Adar- Alpha Wolfshifter
Oliver- Omega Dragonshifter
Delton- Beta Wolfshifter
Rhene- Alpha Wolfshiter
Erwan- Alpha Dragonshifter

I’ve been reading this wolfshifter and dragonshifter omegaverse series and the wolfshifter omegaverse prequel to this series for a while now. Nora Phoenix writes captivating and likable characters that you root for and who you want to have their happy ending.
This book centers on mostly two relationship dynamics. One is a potential triad relationship: Adar, Oliver, and Delton. The other is Rhene and Erwan trying to establish the true Doyle Clan and their discussions with the Dragon Council. This one ends in a cliffhanger so I was biting my nails by the end. I want to know what will happen next so badly. Love this author and this series. I want to see how the relationships develop and what ends up happening with the character who, at the end, was left in a predicament, we should say.
This novel touches on several topics that I found intriguing but may be triggering. There is a vivid scene where Oliver has a panic attack that was well-written and emotional to read. Oliver suffers from severe sexual and physical trauma and his journey towards healing begins in this novel. Adar enjoys “impact play” and struggles with his identity and what he likes to do in the bedroom and for release. Delton is the community’s psychologist and at first I was concerned about how he helps Adar and Oliver navigate their issues since the psychologist-patient dynamic can have a power imbalance. However, the way Delton helps Adar and Oliver was sincere and I felt Adar and Oliver were in safe hands. I’m eagerly waiting for the next installment in this series!

*This series features: mpreg, omegaverse, dragonshifters, wolfshifters, polyamorous relationships, mature scenes suited for people over the age of 18.

Book no 6 in this ongoing story is not one to read on it's own, you have to read the series in order.

This book is difficult for me. I love the overall arc storyline and I am not even mad about the cliffhanger, this is how the author creates the books and if you read the Irrestistible Omegas, you will know it.

But, I found the second storyline about Oliver, Adar and Delton less good. Again, it is not unusual that the relationship story also stretches over more than one book but I felt these three are just not anywhere near a HFN.

Delton is just the odd one out, the third wheel as he describes himself. Oliver and Adar are so wrapped up in another, I just can't help feeling that they unconsiously use Delton to sort things out.
These three have not even a friends-to-lovers vibe.
I must admit, I found it hard to find any chemistry between them. Not surprisingly, there is nothing but one steamy scene. I would have loved to have here something being picked up as for me Oliver's behaviour could have opened up so many possibilities, especially as he still struggles with the physical side of things.

I feel the story of Rhene and Erwan's journey and discoveries is taking too much space away from the maybe-triad. We learn so much about the dragons and I hope to see some of them again. Fergal and Gregor need their story told. This book could be just great without trying to merge both topics together.

So, the 4 stars are basically for Rhene and Erwan.

Delton is convinced Adar is his mate until Adar's mate Oliver shows up. The second Adar sees the sweet, fragile omega, he knows he’s found his fated mate - in fact, everyone knows because Adar won’t leave Oliver’s side, protecting him 24/7. But he’s patient, willing to wait until Oliver has healed. Oliver doesn’t question his connection with Adar, but things aren’t as easy as they seem. Adar has needs Oliver can never satisfy—but Delton can. But why would the beta offer to help Adar find the release he needs through impact play? When Oliver discovers Delton’s feelings for Adar, he’s determined to play matchmaker. But matches can lead to a fire and with no one to control it, who will get burned?

This was an emotional book and I was so desperately sad for Delton as it mostly felt like he was being tortured even though it was not deliberately. Adar needs to pull his head out of his backside in the next book in the series as well as Oliver making some serious attempts to build bridges as I think they dodged a bullet there - Delton was well within his rights to leave. The Dragon Council meeting was interesting and I felt that it went as well as it could have but it was a great shame when Erwan and Rhene had to travel back home separately. The ending was a major cliffhanger and I am now dying to find out how that is resolved. A lot of emotions and feelings in this book. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content.

This story had so much to process! There's the early days of Oliver's and Adar's fated mate relationship and Delton's pining from a distance. He knows Adar is is fated mate but Adar doesn't show any interest in him. Much of the story revolves around all three. But there's more depth to this than the blurb indicates. Erwan and Rhene travel to the dragon council to make Erwan's claim to be king of the Doyle clan. There they encounter hostility and more, including an unexpected ally, or two!

This story should have been named Dragon's Drama because there's no surprise until the very end and that's more of a shock than a surprise. And the darn thing ends on a major cliffhanger. Add to that the fact that the next book is still being written, and the fact that I had thought this was the last book so waited to read it, and I was not happy to find out there's still more to be unveiled.

But, I love this series and I can forgive the author for continuing it. As long as John Solo gets to narrate the next in the series. I'm at the point where I can recognize characters by their voices and considering the cast is huge, that is a tribute to John's versatility. I definitely recommend the series and most definitely in audiobook. Word of caution, however. It is an offshoot of Irresistible Omegas about wolf shifters and many of those characters are intertwined in this series so it helps to read that first. But definitely there too -- audiobook is my rec.

These books are always ones that I want to read right away, as I've loved the storylines that we've been following for a while now. I struggled with this one a bit more than the others, if only because I felt like we didn't get as far with the main triad relationship as I expected. I love checking in on the others and seeing more of the main storyline with Rhene and Erwin, but this book felt like it did that even more than normal. Every time I felt like we were starting to get to see more of the new relationship it would switch back to the main storyline and I would get disappointed that the new triad story wasn't moving further along. The end of the story didn't feel as if they were any closer than at the start and I'm struggling to see at this point how their relationship is going to get to the next level. It's hard to not feel bad for Delton! I think the characters have a lot of growth to go, but so far I haven't been able to connect with their relationship and feel that they are meant to be together. I have the feeling if I read this book later when we have the next story and I was able to continue directly into the next part of their relationship I would feel differently since I could potentially get more resolution quickly, which is why this is still 4 stars for me. Looking forward to the next one to get more of their relationship development!

I have fallen in love with this series and listening to it on Audible has been so enjoyable. These characters are truly brought to life and it's amazing. Adar has known that the sweet and timid omega dragon shifter Oliver was his fated mate from the moment he saw him but getting him to trust him has been a process. Oliver has finally found a place that he can call home and feel safe. Adar makes him feel safe and when he realized that he is his mate he feels like Adar is his home. Delton has been so sure that Adar was his fated mate from the first time he saw him but there have been no feelings returned and he has come to the conclusion that he is wrong especially since Oliver has come into the picture. Delton tries so hard to do the right thing and help these to find their way in their relationship even though it is painful for him. Oliver has the idea that Delton is the third in their Triad, but things get mottled, and Delton gets hurt. I love that we get to see all the past characters and that the stories do truly revolve around all of them in a way. Then you're left with that cliff hanger. I can't wait to see what comes next.
