I binged this right after finishing book two the other night, but am only now getting around to rating and "reviewing" this thing. What can I say...I'm just a lazy person.

All said and done, I really enjoyed this trilogy and I'm glad I gave it another shot. I really loved Drocco and Cailyn and their progression through the books. I'm a sucker for the possessive alpha male and Drocco brought that all the time, every time.

I would definitely recommend this to fans of omegaverse or those who want to dip their toe into the genre.

I really wanted to love it but I got bored at some point. It felt such a chore to actually finish this. This book was super hyped and I’m glad other readers loved it. Just not me.

The third time Cailyn is held captive against her will, it's done by the Mothers of her spy order. Drocco once again tracks her down, is taking captive along with her, more sex ensues until his army arrives and then they go back to the castle.

I don't know why but the author was just dead set on Cailyn being taken captive during this series. Taken captive, kept in a room, sex with Drocco, eventual escape. That's the formula for every book in the series. At the end of this one, Cailyn surrenders and accepts that she might as well give in to the bond since there is no escape from Drocco.

Drocco remains an ass throughout, even becoming an ally with the sex-trafficker villain of Book 2 and alerting the man to the presence of omega spies in his own castle so that Malloran can catch and rape his own omegas into submission and leave Cailyn alone.

It's just... horrible and disgusting and not at all what I think a "fated soulmates" romance novel is supposed to be about. Drocco is just so horrible, that even when he softens up and sticks by his promise to never violently rape Cailyn again, it really doesn't feel like he should be treated like a redeemed character for that, but the author treats him as though he's suddenly some kind of Darcy level romantic like
and it's weird.

This review is for the entire trilogy; if you do not read the books in order (Crave to Conquer and Crave to Capture precede this one), you will be lost. Note: The first two end in cliff-hangers. Trigger warning for dubcon or non-con, depending on your attitude towards Omegaverse.

This series (and subsequent books, which focus on other couples) is set in a Medieval-inspired era common to the fantasy genre; indeed these books clearly owe inspiration to A Game of Thrones as much as to Omegaverse in that the world is divided into quadrant-like empires, and battles are waged with prosaic swords and axes, as well as much less prosaic magic.

Here, we get Alpha Emperor Drocco and Omega Spy Cailyn. They first meet when she infiltrates his palace disguised as a librarian (more specifically, an archivist) to gather intel on his plans to search for missing Omegas. Omegas have been disappearing steadily for decades and Drocco knows that without them Alphas will soon become extinct. Cailyn, in turn, seeks to aid her Omega sisters, safely hidden away from the cruelties that Alphas often inflict on them. Although Drocco spends a lot of time around her during her stay, he is unaware of her true dynamic until she goes into her Haze (heat). The rest of the series details their efforts to form a true Alpha/Omega bond even though they have fundamentally different goals (he to find the Omegas; she to protect them) and, thus, cannot trust each other.

I loved this series and cannot recommend it highly enough -- particularly if you're a fan of Omegaverse. While some usual tropes are apparent here (the heat, knotting, biting, slick, etc), there's enough variation to make this worthwhile (the magic, the nature of the magic, strong Beta characters, the all-Omega village, etc).

I particularly appreciated four aspects of this:

1) World-building: Ms. Ellis did an excellent job of creating diverse, well-described locations; the characters all have complex backstories; and the given circumstances (political systems, social hierarchies, cultural institutions, characters' attitudes and prejudices) are well-described (loved the library!).

2) Distinctions Among the Three Books: I don't disagree with some reviews that say this needn't have been three books. That said, each was organized around different tropes. The first is most akin to typical Omegaverse, and includes other familiar tropes like Hidden Identity and Enemies-to-Lovers; the second is a cabin romance; and the third is structured like a debate as each side makes their case to the other about the best way to ensure the Omegas' well-being.

3) Characters: The conflicts among them were very high-stakes and fundamentally incompatible, which created organic tension. All the characters in this achieve growth, and while some are more sympathetic than others, all come in varying shades of gray rather than boring black and white. Yes, Drocco's treatment of Cailyn is brutal (though not as bad as I've seen in other generic books), but his childhood trauma partly explains it (though doesn't excuse it) and he does redeem himself by the the end. I appreciated that he was often vulnerable, and that Cailyn was stronger and more "talented" than many typical Omegas and that Drocco (ultimately) appreciated it. Finally, I really appreciated that one of the author's main points is how dangerous ideologues are since in their zeal to protect their cause they sacrifice others. Ultimately, however, all learn to temper their beliefs and compromise.

4) MC's Relationship: What can I say? I'm a sucker for an H who is laser-focused on his h.

I have six quibbles:

1) While Drocco's backstory motivates some of his actions, his continued refusal to treat Cailyn in a way that would encourage her to stay with him undermined his stated goal and after a while seemed less pig-headedness and more sheer stupidity.

2) The third book is unnecessarily talky and the back-and-forth between Cailyn and the Mothers became very repetitious. While I appreciated that both sides made good points (the Mothers had themselves experienced Alpha brutality; Cailyn argues that Alphas have changed), the number of secrets and evasions need not have been this complex.

3) The loyalty pledge made no sense since it required too much suspension of disbelief that this many people would willingly kill their loved ones.

4) The attitude that Omegas are simultaneously valuable and valueless has never made sense to me. Why did the Alphas deliberately kill the very beings who could guarantee the strength of their dynamic?

5) The prose needed one more proofing.

6) I couldn't take "Lox" seriously -- it's something that belongs on a bagel.

Note: Huge shout-out to the concept of history from below: “Yes, but I fear you have collected records from Alphas, your Imperial Majesty. Alphas would not record the things that are important to Omegas, only to themselves.”

5 stars. We will see some of the secondary characters in subsequent books; they may also resolve some open lines of action. And, no, other than similar classic Omegaverse tropes, this series does not copy Born to be Bound.

Spoilers ahead

Ok I devoured these books but this was dumb, proof to ME that this did not need to be 3 books.

The h's friend is sent to wipe her memories but she instead asks to be taken to the Mothers to ask questions about her history
Drocco is of course furious his Omega is taken again and sets off behind her
They then spend MONTHS in the wastelands, I mean c'mon! The h was so stupid here! Just basically swallowing everything the mothers fed her while KNOWING something is wrong with Drocco!! I wanted to smack her so badddddddd!
This was just dragged out for no good damn reason!
The last maybe 20% was good but after all of Drocco's harshness I needed more time with him sweet
I did love him as a father and the sweet moments in the end BUT I do think much of book 2 and this 1 could've been cut out to create 1 book, (for example months of waiting)
All in all this was interesting, the world and circumstances were unique with just enough heat to keep my smutty heart happy but I was underwhelmed for much of this installment

****2 stars with a bump because I stan a J/P LOYAL hero even if he was 95% barbarian lol

On to the next

This is the third book in the Myth of Omega series, you need to read the first two before you read this one.

5 STARS
This books picks up right where the second book leaves off- with Cailyn going to the Mothers to get some answers about her past *side note* I really freaking hate the Mothers. Drocco is furiously trying to get to his mate and becomes a reluctant ally to his once enemy Malloron. Does he get to her? Does she come back to him? UGH! I wish I could tell you. ;)
There was a lot of push and pull between the couple throughout their story, between Cailyn fighting her instincts and Drocco using not so nice tactics to force their bond I was nearly biting my nails at the end. I don’t want to give anything away but I did get everything I needed out of their ending.

Zoey Ellis really brought it with the conclusion of Drocco and Cailyn’s story.

So I binged this 3 books in 2 days, and now I ve arrived at the big finale for this couple.

Oh man! I was so frustrated. This woman left again, the second time, after her Alpha really did saved their bond and put all he had better of himself to redeem his past mistakes. She is a pathological liar, untrustworthy and indecisive. She went back to the omega village to request "answers" blah blah blah, after she said she will stay. In her mind she was doing this and doing that, being all possessive and defending Drocco against the Mothers, when he came for her(once again) and was imprisoned. But when the time to speak her mind and defend him properly she was weak and mostly silent and not preoccupied with either getting the answers she went there for in the first place or at least to get them out. So basically I've had enough of her shit!

3 stars because I loved the epilogue and final chapters(when she took some action) and for Drocco because his character has grown so much during the 3 books, he changed and made compromises and genuinely wanted to be a better man for his mate.

Oh my goodness! Houston we have a HEA!!!!! I loved book 1 and 2 and am happy to say that book 3 did not disappoint.

The ending here was incredibly perfect and satisfying (with an epilogue!) and honestly a relief after reading another omegaverse that didn't end so happily. I highly recommended reading this series to anyone who's ok with the triggers and likes a more OTT, intense, controlling and psycho-possessive hero. This dude would follow the h to the ends of the Earth and do anything to possess her. Letting her get away is NOT an option!

Please note - Crave to Claim is part of a series that must be read in order. Each book continues where the previous one left off and there are triggers in book 1 and 2. There are no triggers in book 3. (You can do a search here for the posts about book 1 to read more about the triggers.) Also, book 3 has a less intense romance as the focus of the story is on the story itself. (The sex was delayed to the 47% mark.) I don't feel like the story suffered due to this as I was already vested in it and dying to receive some answers. Answers that finally did come towards the end.

This series is now a favorite of mine and one that I will reread.

An outstanding conclusion to this epic and wonderful story

I only have one regret, and that is how quickly I powered through this third book. I'm sort of wishing I'd forced myself to take me time, savour every word and stretch out the experience as long as possible. But I just needed to find out what happened next far too much to do that. Zoey Ellis has created a wonderful cast of characters and an amazing world for them to live in. The Myth of Omega series is a must read for anyone who enjoys omegaverse stories.

The lies, secrets and manipulations of the Mothers was astounding. What had started off with the best of intentions, a way to protect some of the most very vulnerable of females, had been warped by the bitter memories of an old woman. The last two books have very much been about Drocco's growth, this time it was Cailyn's turn, and boy did she have some making up to do to.

Great writing held me spellbound, had me on the edge of my seat with my emotions ricocheting all over the place! Oh my word do Cailyn and Drocco have to fight for their HEA, though thankfully it wasn't against each other this time. I could feel every emotion, every hope and desire, every triumph and tragedy that beset the pair.

This books in this series have just gotten better and better. Looks like I'm going to be finding out more about King Malloron - even if he does seem like a complete arse.

*Review for the whole trilogy so spoilers may be possible.

I am writing this review at 12:30 am. because I needed to gather my thoughts asap before I forgot, so there will definitely be typos, I apologise in advance.

I think I'm a hoe for omegaverse books at this point, and this trilogy DELIVERED every single aspect I was looking for in an Alpha/Omega pairing.

ALSO, ALSO, also, is it wrong of me to say that I LOVE third-person writing? I just love the way the storytelling happens, and I become so immersed in it.

The worldbuilding in this trilogy was done so well, I was left feeling very satisfied with no plot holes evident at all. I lovedddd the writing style so much as well in this series. It just fit so well for me, I don't know how to explain that.

- Crave to Conquer
I think it is pretty obvious what is to be expected from an M/F omegaverse series, and there were no surprising elements present. Although the "true mates" plot was a guilty pleasure of mine. I loved how even though Drocco expected a submissive, timid mate, he learned that he liked Cailyn's feistiness and determination better. He didn't try to smother her intelligence at all, nor was he threatened by it and was just a proud person over it. Drocco does start off as a commanding and an arrogant Emperor, but he gets better over time. Cailyn was so strong and smart even when she was fighting her haze mentally and was determined not to let Drocco get her. I was rooting for her throughout that whole scene. 🤭I like how genuinely tries to get to know Cailyn as an individual person even though he wanted to possess her because she was an omega.

- Crave to Capture
Soooo I saw that Malloron has his own trilogy in this series, and I don't know how we are going to redeem his actions from being a sex slave owner to selling his own sisters into slavery.🤷‍♀️ I am definitely intrigued, though. Anywayyy moving on, I loved the way Cailyn had escaped from Drocco even though he was hurt in the process 😢 but its okay because Cailyn didn't want him to be hurt and she was just desperate so I support her. Drocco has a lot of trust issues with Cailyn and rightfully so because of all her actions but he becomes desperate for her to actually emotionally bond to him so he doesn't have to hold up his vow to kill her. There was so much angst present during their time together, especially because the both of them had completely different motives for one another. The both of them were so stubborn and strong-willed that they couldn't see eye-to-eye. The pacing was just right for me, as the first book was somewhat fast-paced, but this one had slowed down a little to show the relationship growing between Cailyn and Drocco.

- Crave to Claim
I FLEW through this book because I just really wanted Drocco and Cailyn to just be together and be happy, even though they were so close to it at the end of the last book. I was so damn frustrated with the Mothers of the Omega compound, I just wanted to reach into the pages and strangle them. The AMOUNT OF LIES they had said was so irritating, I threw my kindle every time they fucked Drocco and Cailyn over. Even though I was a little annoyed that Cailyn was not having a CERTAIN conversationg with Drocco immediately when she saw, I was so happy when she finally did. And when she claimed him finally, I was so goddamn happy because it meant so much for Drocco. I was also impressed with how Cailyn comforted and calmed Drocco down when he was lost in his instincts instead of rejecting him (even though that's what I thought was going to happen). I like how in this book Drocco is forced confront his most hated enemy, being magic, and how he overcame his hate for it because of Cailyn. Also I love the fact that their daughter was a daddy's girl and was shown no prejudice for being an omega. HE ALSO TOOK HER LAST NAME AND INTRODUCED HIMSELF AS THAT. I also couldn't get over how much he wanted and loved her smiles and laughter.

I'm just happy that this trilogy ended properly with a HEA and there wasn't too much unnecessary angst.

Triggers
- Dub-con
- Forced pregnancy
- Death of a baby (not the FMC)

*So I have just found out about the lawsuit involving Addison Cain and Zoey Ellis, to which the former had lost the case. I am a little disappointed by Addison Cain's actions as I loved her Alpha's Claim series which has now been tainted as I saw no resemblance to this series. 😥But that is irrelevant in this review.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Another amazing book in this series. The h is pregnant, and she knows there is something wrong at the Omega compound. Why are the Mothers so threatened by her, and her child? Of course Drocco goes to the rescue, and is tortured but he breaks free and rescues his Omega. It did drag a little for me, with some repetious scenes in the compound, but I still loved it. This is rough, painful, and loving. Swoon and sigh!

3.5* STARS!

Anything for his Mate.

After his mate disappearance, Emperor Drocco turns into restless. He's doing everything he can including to has the manipulative King Malloron as an ally. Drocco really hates magic but when his mate is possibly in danger, he didn't have any choice.

The Omega Compound has dirty secrets also the Mothers.
Curious Cailyn is still persistent to have her own answers. The Mothers lied. Something is bothering her in the end. But it wasn't the answers she expected. Another thing that I didn't enjoy about this book was how long it took. There are so much twisted lies in Mother's tongue. They buried skeletons deep in the ground. Once again, Cailyn didn't easily backed up.

The powerless Emperor.
With the help his Talent-crafters, Drocco finally enter the Omega Compound. Imagine a Big Bad Wolf found the paradise. But it didn't take long since the Mothers managed to contain him. And his hardship is about to begin. I didn't like how this a bit wash, rinse, repeat than previous books. Drocco is really in big disadvantage and Mothers "use" him for their own hidden agendas.

Unforeseen turn of events.
The story itself was a bit boring and I skimming pages when it felt like repetition. Mother's old ways positively protect the Omega Compound but it makes them uncomfortable because of Cailyn. Her answer finally clear towards the end. I think the sacrifice is necessary to open their minds. Such a bittersweet ending. Overall, the author certainly has succeed to create this fantasy world. But I wanna see something new within the Alpha/Omega dynamic without the feel of "wash, rinse, repeat" in each books. Anyway, I'm quite satisfied with some new things in Miss Zoey's Omegaverse.

Combined Review for Myth Of Omega (#1, #2 & #3)

Had to crawl to reach the finish line this time.

(It really was a struggle to finish this trilogy ಠಿ_ಠಿ)

Emperor Drocco, who reigns over the Lox Empire commanding an army of over twelve thousand Alpha men alongside his General, Torin is in a tad bit of a problem. He has promised Omegas for his men but remember the problem I'd mentioned about? Yeah. Not a single Omega has been spotted for decades.

It's very well known that Drocco has been in search of the missing Omegas, and now that he has secured the Eastern Lands from King of Ashens & was restructuring it as the Lox Empire, Miss Cailyn Lefroy, a historian from Vamore was summoned to aid Drocco unravel the mystery that has been haunting all the Alphas in existence.

First of all, can I just put it out there that I absolutely, absolutely hated Drocco? Not to worry, Cailyn was a close second. I sometimes wondered who I detested more but Drocco won in first two books so he clearly deserved to be crowned as the winner.

Book #1 really held out until it reached the halfway mark. I enjoyed Cailyn's banter with Drocco inevitably always blaming it on a lip slip but Drocco on the other hand always felt two-dimensional. He was never there for her except when they got intimate. And they had sex for atleast 65% of the entire trilogy, so yes, when I say that he was hardly there any other time, I seriously mean it.

Add to this mix, him torturing her by I wouldn't ever forgive him for that. Cailyn forgot about it like it was passing wind!

Cailyn doesn't trust Drocco (good for her). Never gives him an opportunity to trust her. And Drocco doesn't even see her as a mate but more like a woman who was made to get down and dirty with him.

At first Cailyn fought against this very thing but she dropped all her defences by the time the second book rolled around.

And PLEASE, King Malloron was an unnecessary antagonist. All he did was get on Drocco's nerve and kidnap Cailyn only to give up on his evil agendas without much fight.

But it was the third book which truly got on my nerves. I lost count of the number of times I was mentally screaming at Cailyn to stop acting stupidly, aiming to be a doormat. She clearly knew who was messing with their lives yet she did nothing in the last installment except sleep in a luxurious prison, whine for Drocco, have sex with Drocco, go back to talk to the obvious culprits like they were still trustworthy before going back to whining for Drocco. There wasn't a single hint of the backbone she had displayed when the book first began.

I took up this book because I really did enjoy all the three Dragon romances Zoey Ellis has so far released but Myth Of Omega wasn't really a treat for me since i didn't really spot any romance here.

“What is my family name?”
“Andaus.”
“What is yours?”
“Andaus.”
She blinked. “How can they be the same?”
He smiled down at her. “Because you’re mine.”
She giggled. She fucking giggled, and his heart nearly stopped. It was the most beautiful thing he had ever heard, and combined with finally seeing her laugh, it pushed him into an almost complete state of enchantment.

^The only instance I could spot of Drocco being a softy.

All in all, a series worth reading, if you manage to get over the whole thing.

I know, it's not easy, but the author is great at writing and somehow, she manages to make you get over all sorts of stuff. And believe me, that's extraordinarily hard to do.

And, even more, now I'm curious for the next part of this series, so yay, well done author!

The third book in the Myth of Omega series “Crave to Claim” by Zoey Ellis couldn’t deliver the quality of the first two books.
Maybe i was too overly excited to deliver a fair judgment, as i anticipated the release over the last weeks, checking eagerly the dates.

Anyway, I found it lacking compared to the former instalments. Caylin and Droccos story continues in the last book of the trilogy by discovering the background and history of the founding of the omega village.
I didn’t like the part where they both were stuck in the omegas’ compound. Mostly because of the role the female main character Cailyn played in it. In the previous books, she appeared headstrong, opinionated, with a goal, determined and tough. Whereas here it felt more like she stumbled through a sea of molasses dragging the reader with her. With no real goal or any determination. Questions not asked, or not answered, fighting for Drocco in her head but practically not doing anything in real life. The whole ordeal was disappointing. Willingly locked away, although taking her freedom and independence was one thing she hated strongly and fought against from book one. Doubting the reasoning and judgment of the mothers but letting them experiment on her with magic and potions and not knowing if any damage may occur to her child. It just didn’t add up. She got lost at every turn she took. Doubting them but still obliging them, mistrusting them but still following their lead, questioning their intentions but still not investigating by herself. She is constantly suspicious and recognised thinks don’t add up but still she does nothing. Not connecting dots. No own initiative, which was disappointing for a former spy, and a glorified and achieved one at that.

There was no real showdown, or fighting conflict like i was given in the first two books.

The ending was very soppy although surprisingly I enjoyed it very much. But in retrospect those were the parts the author should have taken more focus on. The struggle and conflict occurring to build a life together, how they worked together. That was mainly her mental distress we were left with at the end of book 2. How a future together could be possible. She, as an empress, her contribution and role in the castle. Him, as a tamed warrior. The blood oath, the fusion of alpha and omega society, the talent reintegrated into Lox society. All the changes and compromises they worked out together, the development that went along with it, the growth together, were only addressed briefly in the Epiloge.
Didn’t live up to the previous instalments. Maybe the author should have taken her time.

What a great series from Z.E a new author to me.I’m so glad I find my way to this amazing written books. I’m sad It’s over with Drocco and Cailyn but I’m looking forward to Mallorons story and to see how he will excuse his ass out ;-))) I hope Amara will kick his ass. So if you are into bad ass hardcore Alfa fantasy romance with a dark taste then you should read this series.Im also a sucker for great written chliffis and Zoey Ellis writing style is absolutely what I’m searching for in my books. Conclusion to Caylin's and Khal Droggo's story, I mean Caylin and Drocco 😆

So I devoured this one in pretty much one sitting. Is it great writing? Mid at best. Is it Great world building? It's hand wavy and more telling than showing. So why is this close to five stars? Because the vibes were immaculate. I loved the Omegaverse tropes used like this, I enjoyed most of the side characters and I LOVED their love story.

I enjoy an Alpha, I cut my teeth on old school HR, but I need my alpha's to soften and mature while keeping their alpha-ness on the streets and in the sheets. And I want them to end totally gone for their heroine. And in this this book succeeded spectacularly. Droggo is awful in book one. Monstrous even. But his character grew and he didn't stop dragging his knuckles but he learned from his mistakes with Caylin and evolved. I freaking love that. Overall I really liked this series and can't wait to read the rest of the books. CWs abound so check the author's list.

I love this series. With all of the change that has been my life for the past 2 years, there is something comforting about snuggling up on the couch and bingeing the hell out of some smut.

And this is smut. The smuttiest of smut. While this series continues, this book finishes the story of the first couple.

I may or may not have watched a 1 hour video about all the BS this author has dealt with from an unnamed bully author.

I received a free copy of this book (ARC) in exchange for an honest review.

I fell in love with Drocco and Cailyn’s story right from the start and was anxious to read what the final instalment held in store for them. I don’t know how Zoey Ellis managed to pull it off, but she has done it yet again. A powerful ending to a gripping trilogy.

Turbulent right from the get go, Drocco and Cailyn truly have a hate/love relationship as portrayed throughout this trilogy. The story of an Alpha seeking his one and only true mate and an Omega who believes that Alphas only care about themselves and treat Omegas like sex slaves and breeding machines, comes to an explosive end in this book.

Deception runs deep as more secrets are revealed and “Mother” doesn’t always know what’s best. Drocco does everything possible to get his Omega back and Cailyn desperately wants to find out the truth. Anger and anguish filled me during the majority of this book and I just wanted it all to end. My heart (as I am sure yours will too) broke for both Drocco and Cailyn as they are put to the test.

If you looking for a boring and predictable read, don’t bother with this book. But if you looking for Omegaverse, something a little dark, engaging, that will keep you glued to the screen (or pages in the case of paperback), wanting more and making you hot and heavy under the collar, look no further. This book was everything I expected and more. Absolute brilliant end to a riveting trilogy.

If you haven’t started the series as yet, I suggest you start with Crave to Conquer TODAY, you won’t regret it.

One review to rule them all

So I didn't review the first two books and generally I don't when there's more than one book in a series unless it just HAS to be done.

This was a great omegaverse series. It was very similar to Addison Cain's Born to be Bound series. Though I do think I liked Shepard just a bit more but only a little. Because he was enchanted with his omega even though he cheated on her and that made him a total turd biscuit. Though I did enjoy the growth of both of these Alphas. How they had to learn more about their Omegas. The one thing I did appreciate about this book over Cain's is Cailyn was actually in the wrong on occasion. She had to actually redeem herself, at least in this book.

It was a great series, very much in line with you would expect from an Omegaverse book. Alpha that has to learn how to respect his Omega while there are underlying things they learn to fight together. It was very enjoyable. I read the whole series in two days and it was time well spent.

It is definitely dark and the first book is the roughest. I mean that quite literally. So know what you're jumping into before you jump. Drocco does not suffer betrayal and liars well. Be warned.
