Book five is this fantastic Omegaverse series starts almost immediately in the aftermath of its predecessor.
After the shocking finale of the last instalment, I was gagging to continue with this.
It was quickly apparent that Malloron was distraught with what his own actions had brought in relation to Amara and desperately wants to fix his mistake: he also realises that she is it for him and is also his fated mate.
Not that this is holding much weight with Amara as she has now lost the small amount of trust she originally had for Malloron.
Malloron himself is unapologetic in his own behaviour and actual intention and just wants Amara to admit she is his: Amara, of course, is fighting him every step of the way.
I must admit I was getting quite frustrated with Amara’s whiny behaviour and refusal to compromise: Malloron was actually being more open and affectionate here.
I just wanted her to get a grip and be honest with her self about her own internal wants and also just to realise that yeh Malloron is mainly a product of his unusual upbringing and certain conditioning from his father and maybe judge him to a slightly different standard because of it.
His childhood and lack of healthy role models and relationships have left him with a warped moral compass and his way of dealing has always been to manipulate and cajole.
This is his default function and Amara needs to get on board with this if these two are to move forward.
I actually felt a trifle sorry for the king here when he was purring and trying to bring Amara some comfort.
So here we have that much anticipated purring and knotting that I have been eagerly waiting for and all was going swimmingly until everything went to hell in a handbasket.
Didn't see that one coming at all: what a finale.
I really don't know how we are going to recover from this one: a fantastic finish.
This is one series I can hand on heart highly recommend to you.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Reign To Ravage (Myth of Omega, #5).
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

3* STARS!

Uncharted territory.

After the end of book #1, Amara left King Malloron with so much hatred. She despised what he did to her. The rumor about previous queen is true and Amara couldn't do anything. Of course, the powerful King managed to find her in the right time. So messed up. King Malloron also shocked with the result that he didn't anticipate. But he determine to fix Amara and make her his Queen.

Too slow for my liking.
With Amara's disability, they rarely converse. She always use inner monologue with only a few words. I kinda hate King Malloron in this book but he still care for her no matter what. He always try to "cheer" her up so it didn't sever their chemistry. Nothing new from Amara except she start to lose her will to life. It was frustrated for me. Yeah, blame her poor condition.

Layer of secrets.
King Malloron has the biggest trust issue than Emperor Drocco. I think the root started from his family or something related to his parents. He's really closed himself except for Amara at this point. But he didn't reveal more about him. Barely a scratch and nothing we can do, huh. Another surprise from King Malloron, even he's really a perv when it came into sex, there's no OW drama. He never "play" around for years from what he said. His pleasure room seems for other's entertainment only.

I always think King Malloron as an introvert nerdy person which is I adore. He bury his nose with books and experiments. More surprise from his kinda-right-hand is a Gamma that I have never read in another Omegaverse. The Gamma seems has dynamic. So interesting!

Zoey Ellis has created one heck of an amazing story with her Reign Trilogy.

She has my emotions ping ponging back and forth, one minute I liked Malloron, then I hated him, then I pitied him, then I sort of understood him then I wanted to throat punch him. Oh my word that man is frustrating, every time he seemed to be turning a corner - bam! - he messed it all up again. And then had the cheek to blame others for his shortcomings and short sightedness. Drocco is a sweet and caring guy next to this alpha-hole.

Amara felt much stronger, more determined in this story. Her suffering and heartache was endless and yet she was so happy too. This poor omega was subjected to so many trials and tribulations and just as she was getting a grip on things - wham! - a wrecking ball swings in out of left field and knocks everything sideways. I had zero idea how the story would progress and was constantly surprised by what DID occur. The tenebris reveal suckerpunched me as hard as it did Amara - all the clues were there but like her I was blind to the truth.

I did find the timeline of events a little confusing and ambiguous BUT I'm fairly certain that was in a large part a deliberate reflection of Amara's perception and confusion. Her loss of vision and hearing left her adrift and unaware of so many things for quite a while. Along with Malloron's manipulations of her and her lack of contact with others, it was no wonder she became so lost.

There were some amazing moments where Amara and Malloran connected on a deeply visceral level and I was easily able to believe in the feelings between this pair. Sadly neither of them truly understands or accepts the other yet - we have a long way to go in this magnificent story. I'm diving straight into the final book right now, Malloron needs to really earn some forgiveness!

Malloron is a monster that doesn't show weakness and puts himself above everyone, even those whom he loves or... is that just how it appears? She is left blind and deaf and everything in her is prisoner to this monster that causes so much sorrow. haha This one is quite fun.

This was recommended to me by a GR friend and I'm glad I read this book. It's intense and sexy and everything a good fantasy romance should be; although, it's also somewhat predictable as most reads of this genre. H is an alpha sorcerer with a deep longing for the h and h is a reticent omega who wants the H but does not want to make her feelings apparent (obviously!) and so alternates between trying to escape him/analyse him/spy on him/ love him.

I just wish the third part of this series would be out already. Unfortunately, I have to wait till December - and that is my only grouse here.

3 1/2 stars rounded to 4.

Wow...

Malloron is bad! When you get his life story you would think, oh shit poor guy.

Next moment you think- fuck, he's even worse.

This book definitely was so packed with everything - action, angst, frustration, shock.. List goes on!

I have absolutely no idea, but this series is really awesome, just works so well with me.

What the hell happened to Malloron and Amara? These characters that started with so much promise when they were first introduced are now as boring and annoying as hell. In this whole book, there’s not one character I found even slightly interesting. The story seems to have hit a snooze with nothing interesting or worthwhile happening until the last chapter. This was a total waste of time. I thought book 4 was bad, this one is way worse. The only things overdone in this book is eat, fuck and whine about tenebris and everything else, over and over. This is one of those times I am absolutely dreading the next book but having no choice because I like this world and I still have hope that the story can be saved.

Amount of sex 4 / 5
How explicit is the sex scenes 4 / 5
Story 4 / 5
Overall: 4 / 5

Reign to Ravage is the fifth book in the ‘Myth of Omega’ series as well as the second book that centers on King Malloron and Amara. So you are aware, this book is a continuation of Reign to Ruin, which is the fourth book in the series. If you have the opportunity, I always like to recommend starting a series from the beginning. Although in this case, starting at book four is completely fine too. For those that have read the first three book, Emperor Drocco and Cailyn do make a short appearance, but it’s not confusing for those who haven’t read the first three books.

Reign to Ravage begins shortly after the last book ends. King Malloron is very upset at what happened, and he is basically in a rage. He’s still so protective of Amara, and she still does not trust him. Although, her body literally craves him. Therefore, there is a whole lot of quarreling between the two characters as well as Amara herself. Which led to a whole lot of steamy sex scenes, which almost caused my Kindle to start smoking! Needless to say, I became completely engrossed in the book and read it in one sitting!

I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!

His True Hate💘Mate

👑King Malloron🐺🍆🌋 has Amara💃💋, his Omega woman that He found among the healers in his castle in book one, "Reign to Ruin". Amara💃💋 tries to leave him, then when she realizes his magic is much stronger than hers, she retreats into her mind, where he cannot follow. So she is just laying in his bed like a corpse. Nothing Malloron🐺🍆🌋 does seems to affect her trance.

This book has a lot more magic going on in it in the beginning, which I didn't care for much. I loved the story, I just don't understand that the author got off the track of the Alpha Omega story and got both main characters wrapped up in magic spells, magic shields and magic weapons.

ARC Received from Bad Boy Update.
This book📑 was $4.99 on Amazon at the time of my review.

The book📑 ends in a cliffhanger.......

I adore Zoey Ellis! I can’t get enough of these characters and this world. Normally I turn off sometimes when authors go into detail about background elements because quite frankly, I just want to get to the good stuff between the couple (heh), but I LOVE all the discussion about the tenebris and how magic is a source of power and betrayal in the Western Lands. And of course I love Malloron and Amara’s relationship and its development: it lost none of its heat, and in fact there was more because of Malloron’s acceptance of who Amara is to him. And Kardos... can’t wair to hear his story! I KNOW he has a connection to Drocco. And we learn more about Malloron and why he has evolved into the ruthless alpha king and as a result you feel so much more for him and root even more for him to finally see the light! I don’t want to spoil it but this is a must (scorching emotional rollercoaster) read!!! (I received an advanced reader copy to review.)

Huh?!

What the what now?
Oh my gosh! I don’t know who to get the most feels for! Damn! Yes this book was a 5/5 for me.
I mean!
Heat!
Drama!
Twist.... twist.... twist... oh and did I mention twist? Character development, imagery is OFF the CHAIN!
I felt like I was there! Living the life, seeing it! Feeling the heat, feeling confused, feeling curious! Being betrayed (or what I would think is betrayal) but also really aching to give lil Mal a hug and tell him life is just a messed up journey we gotta forever pay the travelcard for even though we don’t always enjoy the journey!
Read it man, pfft I’m ready for the next book!

Listen... You either like Ellis's writing, or you don't. I happen to enjoy it - it's a bit insane and there's always a moment where I question why I'm reading it, but in the end I have a good time. I've had a mixed reaction to her books from the beginning but I haven't regretted my decision to keep reading past the intense... everything.

Malloron is unapologetic about the mayhem he causes but he is so devious I find myself smiling. Amara still wades into another bargain with Malloron which always twists into his favor. Goodness I don't know how anyone couldn't be enthralled by him especially his omega. There is so much passion between these two characters I thought my kindle might start smoking lol. Is this book going to end at a nice safe happy place? Nope but this book did set my imagination on fire with several possible outcomes for the issues that separate Malloron and Amara. Happy Reading!

description

I'm not gonna lie. I wasn't super impressed with this book. I anticipated it in the last novel, but I've discovered that Amara and Malloron just aren't great characters to me.

Amara, for one, lacks debt. She's super melancholy throughout 90% of this book. And I just didn't feel like I knew her as a character as well as I knew Cailyn in the previous three books. All Amara does is complain and have lots of sex with Malloron. And that is the theme that is on repeat like a broken record in this book. Mallron and Amara fight, they have epic, raunchy sex, and Amara goes into another epic state of melancholy ( in which she is the most boring female MC on the plant).

Malloron is the most beta alpha ever. I also wasn't impressed with his character. The author tries to portray him as being witty and smart, but I just didn't see that. He is very self absorbed, completely out of tune with what is happening with the people of his kingdom, has a very narrow understanding of how people think and work (which is kinda crucial to being a good leader), is super pouty, and spends the vast majority of his time in this book buried in Amara's pussy.

That's it. That about sums up the story and the characters of this book. And I found that rather sad. Especially when the previous three novels were actually really good.

I think the problem lies in the author just not being enthusiastic about these characters. I just don't sense the same amount of care of debt here that I felt in Cailyn and Drocco. Not to mention, Cailyn and Drocco's story was much better. There was a lot more going on there.

There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING going on in the story here. The story tries to rear it's ugly head and redeem itself at the very end, but I predicted that turn of events at the end of the last book, and it was a very weak display of a plot twist.

In other words, I found everything from the story, the writing, and especially the characters, lacking and mediocre in this book. I'm gonna power through and finish the last book, just because I want it to be over and because Shaya and Kardos's story already looks ten times more appealing than this one. Ehhhh, I just want it to be over. 3 stars.

Amara gets on my nerves. At least with Cailyn, her behavior made sense; the Mothers had hidden most positive features of Alphas and Drocco literally harmed her every time they were intimate for weeks. Meanwhile, Amara had been relatively taken care of by her Alpha and had never really been harmed by him. 99% of the time I prefer more groveling from the H in books but her haughty attitude just irritates me, especially because she just got her sight back courtesy of Mallloran. It's not as if she doesn't know at this point that Alphas and Omegas can live happily together because Cailyn came to see her.

Furthermore, I don't really get her whole emphasis on MUH FREEDOM when she's basically lived in a cult her whole life? Like, what are you itching to get back to Amara, more spy missions where you pretend to be a servant or have to seduce some important official somewhere? Normally wanting freedom is a good motivator for tension in captive romances but in this situation, I'm not feeling it.

The Gamma plotline is more interesting than the main romance in my opinion. I those 2 get their HEA.

“Myth of Omega” is Zoey Ellis’s Omega-verse series. The author has developed what has become a signature format for this series following a single couple/story arch across three books. As of this review she has now penned the love stories of three couples (x3 books each series) published across a total of 9 unique titles. With one Novella thrown in for a total of 9.5 titles.

Myth of Omega’s second x3 installment “Reign” introduces us to follows the story of Alpha King Malloron (magic caster from west) and Omega spy Amara. We’ve already meet Malloron from the previous 3 book arch where he was cast as the villain, kidnapping the heroine in hopes of forcing her to marry him. Malloron ends the previous book as a reluctant ally of emperor Dracoco and off in search of his own Omega following Dracco’s critic guidance that omegas already exist within his own holdings.

We also briefly meet Amara as she assisted Caitlyn during Malloron’s abduction. However with so much in common with Caitlyn I found that this felt like the same character only recast in a different scenario. (Both omega spy’s, starting with same world paradigm dictating so much of their decisions. All things omega good, omega mothers speak only truth, all thing alpha evil and suspect. Hide omega existence at all costs.)

Perhaps it was the whiplash going from Malloron’s being the villain to the hero or how much time had had to be spent explaining the casting /magic use system, the result was I failed to get as invested into this couple the way I had the first. The third book in the series Reign to Rule salvaged the three book arch for me.

A series that is Powerful, Emotional and Addictive!

Finally, after what felt like forever, I got to read this book and it was so worth the wait – filled with anger, suffering, desire, betrayal, etc. We get to know more about how the tenebris has affected Amara and how powerful she is, both mentally and physically. Malloron’s past is also revealed as it becomes apparent what made him the man he is. It is devastating what he has gone through and I applaud the author for her imagination and writing style as she is able to draw you in and leave you emotional, shocked at times but always craving for more. The events Malloron experienced as a child finally make it obvious why he was/is hell bent on getting the tenebris out of him and into another ‘host’.

I am not a fan of MM and the author does not take it that far, but the relationship between Emric and Banon does give a bit of a break from the main characters while making it even more interesting. Emric is such a sweet guy and as his background is uncovered, it also provides insight why Malloron is so close to him. Yes, some questions are answered in this book, but at the same time if leaves you with even more.

Once again, this book ends in a cliff-hanger and it is a doozy – the first book of this couple may be titled Reign To Ruin but this ending certainly ruined me! I will anxiously be waiting for the next book to read the conclusion of Malloron and Amara's story.

This is book 5 of the Myth Of Omega series and I would not recommend this book be read before reading the previous 4 books in the series. (Although books 1-3 are different couple with their own hea, they are mentioned and do make appearances in books 4 & 5 and it just gives you more of a foundation to Malloron and Amara’s story.)

I received an arc of this book and this is my honest review.

Thanks to the author for an eARC to read and give my honest opinion.

After the last book, Malloran has found his Omega and made her take the tenebris of magic inside of her, but it cause her to become blind and deaf locked in a prison of her own mind. I'm in a rage because Malloran is not even remorseful for what he has done, and I can not get over his justification of what he has done.

I knew going into this one that there would be a cliffhanger ending, but this one was so painful. Malloran and Amara are not the best couple, and this was not a fairy tale. I could NOT stop reading though. I absolutely love this omegaverse series and picked up the first three in the series because this was just so good. Without any spoilers though....which is really impossible but just if you loved this series so far, book 5 will NOT disappoint! Five amazing stars of DARK romance!

What did I like? The savagery of Malloran is just unspeakable. She is deaf and blind but it doesn't stop him from being with her, because she is just his. No if's...ands... or buts. He does not answer to no one. He provides everything for her but he is a selfish brute. Loved it.

Would I buy a copy? If you are into dark romances then yes. I'm not really sure how huge this genre is, there's not a whole lot of titles out there in the omegaverse. I'm just not sure how many of my friends would read this book and go crazy about the abuse. It's fiction....smh.

Thoughts for the author? I love dark romances and the Omegaverse stories. I'm really curious how your going to bring Malloran out for his behavior. This was a really great read and I look forward to more installments!! Thanks so much for the ARC.

Zoey Ellis never ceases to entertain. This was a GREAT book. Warning that it does end on a cliffhanger but it's good enough to re-read when the next book comes out (which should be last in this trilogy). In this story we learn more about Malloron's background and it helps to explain why he is the way he is. He's so closed off and he doesn't understand a relationship dynamic. Amara knows what a mating should be and she's not getting that feeling so she's not sure they are mates. This story works through their pasts and they settle into a relationship but of course we are left with a doozy of a cliffhanger on this one and now there are so many more questions to ask. I really liked this book. I thought Amara was just standoffish enough to cause Malloron to question but he's the king so everything he wants should be his.

We also get an appearance from Malloron's brother and another alpha from another part of their world. There is also some tension between his enemies but he has a handle on it. Still with rumblings of war, everything isn't as peaceful or settled and he'd like to think it is.

A great, fast read. I expect it's way more important to read this than to eat or sleep and if you re-read the previous book first, you might pick up some clues that you missed the first time around (I know I did). Eagerly awaiting the conclusion of Malloron and Amara's interaction. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

I knew this was going to end on a cliffy but I was not prepared for the savagery I would face at the end- You stomped on my soul shredded my heart and left me to bleed out!! Now you expect me to wait graciously ?? Okay. (Don't judge it's that good)
This is book five in the series but the second that delves into the sordid tale that is the "relationship" of Malloron and Amara.
We pick up right where we left off Amara has lost her sight and her hearing. Malloron is in a rage trying to figure out what went wrong. And let us not forget that his kingdom is beginning to revolt!
I have to admit I found myself drawn to Malloron a bit more in this book. We get a better look at his past and those who were his family by blood, for me this really led to a better understanding of his behaviors. We also get to see the maturation of some of the other characters as they battle their own trails and tribulations.
Amara is the key to so many things - Just wait for it, some of the surprises that are revealed - serious "Oh hell no" moments. Amora his having a hard time dealing with what she feels was a failure to protect her sister Omegas as well as the feelings she has towards Malloron - she definitely does not trust Malloron.

As has been constant with this series continues in Reign To Ravage
A strong plot
Strong character development
A smooth story-line
And a guaranteed book hangover
