Feminine by The God-Fashioned Woman provides detained understanding of how and why God created woman that enables both men and women to recognize the rightful contributions that God designed women to make for the welfare of humanity. Despite millennia of misguided efforts by men to control and dominate them, God originally designed women to be coequal with men and to have complete freedom to use any gift and to fulfill any role that he has given them. Women are designed to be feminine. They are designed for beauty, purity, and modesty. They are designed for sexual fulfillment. They are designed for nurture and relationship. And they are designed for freedom. Whatever your race, ethnicity, gender, faith, or social status, this book will literally set you free from misconceptions that have restricted the roles of women. As you are reconnected with the Hebraic foundations of your faith, you will clearly understand God's original design and purpose for women, and you will begin to help remove obstacles that have kept women from assuming their God-given roles in the family, in society, and especially in the community of faith.
Dr. Garr writes from a very scholarly perspective. All of his works are thoroughly researched, cited, and footnoted. The material he presents is absolutely liberating for women. His premises are carefully delineated and supported with Scripture. I can't recommend his books on women enough. However, while being completely thorough, they are a little dry. This makes it more difficult for the average "lay person" to read. Please don't let that deter you --- press through ---- and finish not only this book, but the other 5 or 6 in this series. (Not all are in print yet)
Dr. Garr has presented the body with a much needed treatise on what biblical womanhood really is in the eyes of Elohim (God) and what that should look like in our assemblies. I am blown away with the care and attention to detail that Dr. Garr has painstakingly taken to liberate God fearing women. Read this book and the entire series no matter which camp you lean toward on the issue of women. These works are sure to challenge and inspire you and your current paradigm.
