Fingerprints: Murder and the Race to Uncover the Science of Identity by Colin Beavan.
A brief look at the history of fingerprints being used in criminal investigation. It starts well with an interesting police case but quickly the authors opinions and biases are made clear that some people or groups deserve more recognition, particularly Henry Faulds, despite his active hostility towards using fingerprinting to identify and convict criminals. I'd hoped for more. Some innovative methods of lifting fingerprints off of paper and even skin were obly mentioned quickly in the last two pages in the epilogue, which was disappointing.
