Having precog abilities didn’t guarantee having answers, but it did mean Walker knew when trouble was in a specific area. In this case it was Finland and involved someone associated with Levi and a friend to Walker. So he wants in on this job – even if Levi doesn’t have a job there. Yet. However, a quick phone call to Terk confirms Walker’s suspicions. And he’s already on the move. Ashley’s life should have eased up with her move to Finland, but that same wariness creeping back in her life made her feel hunted once again. A strong healer, she helped those who showed up on her doorstep, telling them that she believed the healing energy brought them to her. However, she’d long ago learned that not everyone who showed up at her house wanted the best for her. So, when Walker shows up, she’s not sure what to believe, but it’s quickly all too clear that her life is in danger. Should she trust Walker? No, but she has to make a choice, and the wrong one could kill her …

In the prologue of this book we first see the exchange between Riff and Terk about Angela again. Riff just wants to put off her coming to them, and for now Terk will let it go. There's something very interesting going on there. Then Levi calls Terk about Walker wanting to work for him, but he also had a vision of an issue in Finland. Levi doesn't have anything there, but Kim's brother is traveling in Finland and has disappeared. There seems to be some connection between his disappearance and a healer.

When Levi identifies his contact as Walker, Terk knows he's talking about Walker Habernack who has some awesome precog abilities. Calum volunteers to go to Finland and meet up with Walker to help find Kim's brother.

Walker doesn't know Calum but knows he worked on Terkel's team when they worked with the CIA. Walker and Terk go way back and are much alike in some ways. Walker has stayed alone and has blocked Terk's communication with him. He doesn't want him in his head. Terk tries to convince him he's better off with a group who understands him than on his own. He's not convinced but agrees to talk later.

Ashley Henkel senses danger, she doesn't know where it's coming from but knows it's out there. She wants to run, but to where? Running wouldn't solve the problem. She's debating all of that in her head when her friend McClintock calls. He's sensing something wrong as well. He tries to convince her to come in and be with people again, but she's adamant about staying alone. After talking to him she decides to go for a walk to get away from the house. She's not far from her home in the field when she sees a car approach and then stop at her home. Two men get out and she studies their energy before she approaches them.

After they introduce themselves, and Calum mentions Terkel, she does a really cool energy thing. An image of Terkel 'appears', and they have a conversation. She's also ignoring an energy arc thing between her and Walker.

Things don't go easy for Walker and Calum as they try to trace Frank's steps. The townsfolk aren't admitting to seeing him and even the officials are close-mouthed.

This book drew me in and kept me there as suspense builds and things slowly unravel, including Ashley and Walkers walls.

I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Another great book in Dale Mayer's "Terk's Guardians" series. Terk's guardians are a team of highly trained operatives who used to work for the government but have now gone private, each one of them has a special psychic ability covering different areas, abilities that would be dangerous in the wrong hands.
Walker Habernack also had a psychic ability, he had precog powers, he and Terk went back a long way but he had blocked Terk's energy, he didn't want him in his head.
Walker's energy was telling him that there was trouble in Finland and that it was something to do with his friend Levi, without hesitation, Walker was on his way.
After a conversation with Levi it became clear that a friend's brother had gone missing and was in serious trouble, he could be at death's door, Kim's brother, Frank had disappeared in Finland, there had to be a connection.
Terk knew that Walker would need assistance so he sent Callum to Finland to meet up with him.
Ashley Henkel was a psychic healer, she had hidden herself away from danger in a small town in Finland, she would only heal people who turned up at her door.
When Walker and Callum turned up at her door she wasn't amused, she and Walker went into battle immediately but there was also a pulling energy between them that neither could ignore.
Walker and Callum needed Ashley's help, they needed to locate Frank and they needed Ashley to help heal him but they all sensed danger in the way.
This story is action packed and has the author making you believe the unbelievable, it is full of intrigue and suspense and of course the barriers that both Ashley and Walker have put up gradually tumbling down. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Terkel is the head of Terk’s Guardians, a security group whose agents have special psychic abilities. They originally worked for the government who used their gifts to help people in trouble. However when their government decided to do away with the group, he attempted to kill them all. Thus, Terk and his Guardians left the government and started their own security group.

Walker and Ashley also worked for the government, but they choose to escape after many traumatic experiences. Walker is a precog who senses events before they happen, and Ashley is a healer. At this moment, Walker uses his precog ability to help people by himself. However, he often consults with Terk. On the other hand, Ashley lives in seclusion and has shut down her psychic abilities. She refuses to use her abilities anymore or even to receive any psychic communications.

However, recently everyone is worried about a sick, young man who misses his appointment with Ashley. Walker has a precog thought that the missing man is near death. When he calls Terk for advice, Terk suggests that Walker visit Ashley for help. Thus, the action begins.

As in all of Dale Mayer’s books, the author creates story with an original, one- of-a-kind plot. This creative, complex plot contains non-stop action, riveting suspense, constant danger, and lots of unexpected twists and turns. The main characters are interesting, multilayered, imperfect people.

Best of all, there are a lot of surprises that will keep reader captivated as they read this book

Walker had precog abilities but that didn't guarantee that he had answers. At the moment he knew that there was trouble in Finland and that it involved someone associated with Levi. Should she trust Walker? No, but she has to make a choice, and the wrong one could kill her.

This was a dramatic story where they had no idea exactly where the danger was coming from until the final confrontation when it all became clear. I liked that Walker and Ashley had a connection between them already and that helped when he was able to sense things happening to her. I did like the way Ashley came up with reasons to stay hidden and Walker came up with reasons to come out and go to Terk's castle. Easy to read, feel and understand.

Walker by Dale Mayer
Terk’s Guardians Series Book Five
Walker Habernack had a premonition that something was happening in Finland. He wasn’t sure what it was but let Levi know. So, he heads to Finland to meet Calum. Terkel has gone private and has a team. He was thinking of working for Levi, but maybe being around people with his unique abilities would be better.
Ashley has been “in hiding” for the past five years. Her work with the government killed her. She still healed, but not as much. Suddenly, her quiet life changed when a man didn’t show up at her house for healing.
When one of Levi’s team members reports a missing brother, he contacts Terkel since Walker has abilities. They know this mission is vital to returning Kim’s brother to her. And, of course, Walker and Ashley will get a surprise. They thought they were fine independently, but fate had other ideas.
It's fast-paced as they search for the missing brother before it’s too late. Some suspense, action, romance, and a touch of the paranormal make a great story.

Walker & Ashley

Terk’s team just keeps on growing!

I enjoy the diversity of the group Terk now has. It seems each one has a special skill set unlike any other except they all align with each other.

Walker can anticipate issues with his precog visions which enable him to act quickly in most situations, sometimes without knowing what he’s getting into. When he meets Ashley, an exceptional healer, they clash immediately. As the search for the sick young man Walker was sent to find ensues, they discover more mysteries than anticipated. Ashley could be in danger and it’s up to Walker and Callum to find out what it is and see to her safety.

Walker starts to accept that Ashley came into his life because it was meant to be. Ashley, on the other hand, takes a bit longer to come to that same conclusion, with a lot going on in between each of these revelations.

Full of intrigue and problem solving. The mental angst for Ashley was hard on her. I enjoyed the additional help from Callum and Riff to round things out and make this an exciting story.

"There's trouble in Finland"

So vague, but very, very insistent and this is the frustration Walker has, he sees visions and has intense "feelings" but no specifics. No details, no timeframe, just something pushing, nudging, pulling, leading him in a direction. You can almost feel his frustration pulsing off the page, he feels the urgency, knows it is life and death and knows it will impact his life...
But he never expected Ashley!

Lots of twists and turns in this one, questions over people's loyalty and motives and of course a past that won't stay buried but comes back to haunt Ashley every opportunity it can. Placing barriers up helps keep the enemy out, but it also hinders your ablity to see them approaching... especially if it is the last person you expect.
I really like Walker and Ashley, they may be a little grouchy, grumpy and defensive but they also have a bond that cannot be denied. They help each other heal in a way nobody else can, they offer acceptance and for the first time in a long time allow a little spark of hope for the future.

This has to be one of the worst books I have ever attempted to read. It appears that I needed to read the first books in the series as well as another series of over 30 books. No thank you. I felt like I was coming into the middle of a conversation and had no idea what was said before. That is the way this book is. I thought it would be a fun read with psychic abilities, but forget that. I was totally confused about current and past characters. At one point Walker asked Collum for an explanation. The author assumed everyone knew what that explanation was, because it was never explained for the reader. The wording was that Collum explained to Walker and that was it. I made it through the first 2 chapters, part of the 3rd, then skipped to the end.

I will not read any more of the paranormal books by this author unless I start with the first one, if I can figure out which series. I may try a book in a nonparanormal book but it will have to be the first in a series.

As usual another great book. Terkel's group seems to be growing a lot. Good job he has a castle to live in. Walker has a sort of premonition of someone needing help in Finland and contacts Levi for help. The race is onto save a young man that has been kidnapped on the way to Ashley's house. Walker with the help or Terk and some of the people working for him, try to piece together Ashley's past and who is on the warpath to end her life. I love this series. We Start out with a person on Terk's wave length, they help, it goes bad but they come out the other side. You could really tell that Walker and Ashley had a bond or chemistry there from the beginning. I really loved the characters. I was sure about McLintock though, he was number one on my list and still was right to the end. I am looking forward to reading Reid's book.

Walker went from uninterested and grumpy to very interested and smiling in a blink of an eye it seemed in this. Ashley however took more convincing, mind you she was pretty grumpy at times herself. Her past haunts her in a way she ran and hid to recover, governments never learn to not overuse or abuse talent and abilities, they would do far better to have voluntary help. The team work hard to find and rescue Frank, a young man taken for some reason but figuring out why and where takes time and time is running short. The suspense comes in the investigation but there is still plenty in the climax scene to keep excitement levels up. Great setting in the middle of a fairly small town and outskirts of Finland. Enjoyable and well written, more fabulous characters to get to know and love.

Calum and Walker are in Finland, trying to find Kim's brother Frank. Walker meets Ashley, a healer in Finland. Ashley isn't interested in being around people. She guards her solitude in a bid to protect herself from burnout. Helping only those that come to her, she's less than impressed with Walker and his search for the missing man. Walker has to convince Ashley to help, because Frank is living on borrowed time. Without their help, he will certainly die. Danger, intrigue, and romance made this a couldn't put down read.

The latest case for Terk's Guardians involves Walker, a precog, and Ashley, a healer. As with the original members of Terk's team, Ashley experienced a horrible event while working for her government and she's been in hiding and healing for the last five years. But now a young man that was on his way to Ashley for healing has disappeared from the small village near where she lives. Walker shows up to help find him, and during the search Ashley ends up in the path of danger. There are multiple suspects that will keep them on their toes until the resolution of the threat.

Walker is heading to Finland with or without permission but does contact Terk who immediately approves him going. A friend of Levi's is in trouble and does not realize it yet. When Walker does track down Ashley in a small town he finds that she is a strong healer and people sometimes seek her out to help them. She used to feel safe but recently feels she is in danger. Walker ensures her he will keep her safe. Their attraction to each other continues to grow the longer they are together.

The fact Walker is as gruff and straight to the point like Terk was great as well as the fact that Ashley not only knew Terk, but also the sisters so there were strong connections already.
We have a search for Frank who is not only missing but who it turns out is very unwell, A need in Walker to keep Ashley safe with her growing feeling of unease and danger then also a connection between her and Walker which starts when they first turn up on her door step.

Both people in this company were growly or grumpy. After all of the twists and turns, exposing the actual culprit was kind of disappointing.

I felt like there was all of this conversation about intrigue, trust or lack thereof, and government interference. A lot of discussion about the area not being too friendly or welcoming.

I listened to the audiobook which dragged a bit for me. Out of all of Dale Mayer's narrators, this one is one I prefer. I was surprised that most of the characters sounded like Terk to me. I normally don't have that issue.

This book is a combo of everything I enjoy in a story. The idea of healers and people with special powers is fascinating to think about. In this book Walker (in America) has a feeling and follows up to find Ashley (in Finland) in danger. She isn't sure she should trust him as she has gone to great lengths to successfully flee from any danger. The path to freedom for them both is a entertaining read!.

Walker is a precog being assaulted by visions of someone in trouble. Ashley is a healer just trying to survive. When they meet, things start happening. Both in the world around them and in their lives. It takes a while, but Walker convinces Ashley they are stronger together. I love seeing the teams growing. This book will surprise you. Highly recommend.

Well I wasn't disappointed with Walker's character, don't know if I would want his skill set or not. Ashley is another healer, and she is definitely one hard nut to crack. As usual danger, suspense and a running out of time scenario. I hate to rush stories along, but I really want to get back to England and the stories about the babies due. HEA.

Walker has a premonition that there's trouble in Finland and when he talks to Terk he finds out it's true and heads that way. There he meets Ashley who's a healer but has been in hiding to recover from her work with the government. Their team is trying to find a young man whose time is running out and needs a healer. Lots of danger, suspense, and chemistry between Ashley and Walker.

Another wonderful story in the Terk's Guardians series, this standalone story is fast-paced and quick to read. Walker goes to Finland to look for a missing friend of Terks that he's being have premonitions of. He meets Ashley, a Healer who the missing man was going to meet. Plenty of drama and intrigue, wonderful likable characters.

An exciting story in Dale Mayer's "Terk's Guardians".
This team all have psychic abilities, you'll need to read the rest of the books to keep up with them all.
Walker has precog abilities and saw trouble coming. He knew it affected Levi and he was on his way to assist.
So much suspense and intrigue in this story, my head is still spinning.
Bring on the next one.
