Such an interesting world; Sky Pirates vs. Evil Magical-Commodity Barons says a lot, but the magic system itself (integral to the society but not yet fully explored) is going to keep me coming back for more. The fantasy and historical European elements blend seamlessly. I’m very excited for the rest of the trilogy!
The characterization feels heavy-handed sometimes, but the characters are FUN, distinct, and dynamic. I'm grateful for Katherine in particular; her bravery against her pain and history of abuse makes her the most admirable among a very likable team. It’s an empowering story I’d love to gift to young readers, but I'd expect readers of any age to enjoy it! As I said: Sky Pirates.
Even though this is a new genre to me (fantasy steampunk), I was instantly hooked. The characters are relatable and I found myself falling in love with the protagonists and loathing their enemies. The true-to-life characters' experiences in a fantasy world, written in creative detail is an absolute pleasure to read!
Loved this book, it was fun very imaginative, very visual. I could just see the airships and the costume s they wore. Couldn't put it down for the last half of the book. Good action and development of the characters.
This is such a great read! The story is quick paced but still detailed. The characters are absolutely flavorful. It was fun to read a genre that isn't all that common.
I loved reading Mad Marienne. The characters are such a fun bunch, and the World of Luma created by the author is so detailed and well-realized. Sky pirates, steampunk- Such a fun ride!
