If her love is my end, then I'm taking her enemies down with me. TLEIA
Despite clawing my way up from rags to riches, I’m broken, my bruises soul deep, and the only love language I understand is the heads of my enemies at my feet.

But the Orc warrior who loved and guarded me, I betrayed to survive. When I leave prison, I don’t know if we’ll be enemies, or finally, lovers.

I don’t know if he'll be dark enough to forgive me, or if he’ll call in the debt I owe and extract payment in blood and flesh.

The fate of our secret baby hangs in the balance of our love and hate, but my Orc isn’t the only enemy I’ve offended, and without Gethen’s protection my son and I won’t make it out of the City alive.

GETHEN
I knew the moment I met Tleia she would end me, but I love her anyway.

Honor, clan, my clean hands, all obliterated in the quest to keep her safe. Anyone who touches her now will die—the days I play by the rules are over. Hands drenched in blood hold my young son, the secret she kept from me in prison.

The dishonor, the broken oaths—my new family is worth it, and it’s time I made my mistakes right.

I don’t regret sacrificing my soul to my dark side to claim and protect the woman and son I love, and with Seanna City’s crime lords on our trail, I’ll prove what I couldn’t before. That the greatest honor is to fight at her side. ORC BOUND is a grimdark post-apocalyptic monster romantic fantasy for readers who like morally grey worlds, gritty but vulnerable heroines, protective good boys willing to turn bad for love, and found family. Includes potentially triggering themes. This standalone ends with a healing , redemptive, HEA. Second book in the Immortal Sorting series. You do not have to read book one first, but there are mentions of previous characters.

Another story with Orc main character. The story is told from the Orc and human POV and it is a wild ride with danger, intrigue, steamy and some dark flashbacks intermingled with scenes that made me laugh. Characters are flawed but their journey to freedom made for a wild ride. Good story and good characters that drew me in.

Lessons learned for Gethen Bachdracht

This is book two of the immortal sorting series. The fist boos was about Commander Uther. This book is about his cousin Gethen Bachdracht. This male moved away from home to be in the city. The story doesn’t really tell the why, but he gets a job as security for a bad guy that abuses and sells his wife Tleia to his society friends. This part is definitely not pleasant because Gethen tried to get Tleia to leave with him but she would not. There are a lot of mental and emotional scares for the main characters. They both struggle but in the end learn to compromise. Read On!

3 1/2 stars. Hard, really, because I didn't like the heroine, but at the same time I knew she was created to be flawed and imperfect so I could respect the difficulty in creating such a character. She wasn't terrible, she just had a hard life and developed in a way that made her difficult to love. The real reason for taking off a half star was that I really struggled to feel the connection between the two until nearer to the end. It was a complicated plot to write, I think, and still really get into their relationship. Probably because much of the depth between them happened in the past, off page. Still, a good read.

Fantastic orc romantic adventure.

They have known each other for years, by circumstances separated them. I loved these wonderfully well written and fascinating characters. Action, betrayal, magic, and plenty of twists in the plot, as well as a steamy love story in this must read paranormal romance read. A quick warning that there are some twisted interactions in some of the scenes that some readers could find disturbing to say the least. I however think this a must read, and highly recommend this book to other readers.

Well, I didn't like this one as much as Uthers book. I wanted to, and to some extent this story was entertaining but not in comparison to book one.

Much of my dislike or lack of enjoyment definitely stemmed from my lack of empathy for the heroine Tleia. She was every bit the product of her upbringing and harsh surroundings. And while on one hand I respected her hustle and street sense to a certain degree but on the other hand I found her wholeheartedly unlikeable. Regardless of learning her past and the hell she had lived through both by choice and by lack of choices.

The most apt description I can think of for Tleia is selfish and materialistic. And when it came to her disregard and constantly lying (in the past and present) toward the hero Gethen, well, I couldn't be okay with that.

Now the hero Gethen was...well, cute. That's about all I can think of when I reflect on his character. He was literally the good guy. That's it. And while I didn't enjoy knowing about his lack of action regarding his past with Tleia when she was still married, I also understood it to a certain point especially when placed side-by-side with Tleia's own choices and her own lack of action to take care of herself.

Ultimately this book was a bit disappointing for me. I wanted to like it more but Lord it really dragged in the first half of the story. Ended up putting it down for a couple of weeks before finally finishing it.

Truthfully I also just couldn't grasp why Gethen was chasing after Tleia, even before he found out she had his son. Especially then tbh. She was really that unlikeable and even by the end I don't think she ever evolved and I truthfully don't imagine her changing to adapt to her new calm life either. So, in that regard I think Gethen was dead on with his worry about her being unhappy with the life he wanted to give her.

Anywayyyy!

The absolute most enjoyable memory for me was the multiple hilarious times their son Ethan demanded his mom's booby. That boy was obsessed with the boob and it was a bit of silliness that kept things a bit lighter throughout the story.

This was a good read. Not as good to me as the one before it mind you. I could set this one down and come back later.
Gethen who grew up on the wrong side of life. She has had to fight and act in morally gray way to keep herself alive and fed. She has done this in the beginning where we find this story. Ethan hers and Gaithean’s son is not where she sent him. She find him with his father that she didn’t inform that she was even pregnant. All that while she is getting out of prison. Hathur is in this story as well. He is cousins to Gaithean from book one.
This whole story will follow these four as they try to make it out of the hole that is Gethen’s childhood city to the orc community we have in book one.
There are many, many challenges to get through for this group to even get out of the city not to even start on the trip to the orc community.

This one was much darker than the first one but so very well written.
It was sad and heartbreaking but it turned out beautiful.

Both Gethen and Tleia have been through hell and back but out of the friendship they created over many years and then being separated for a few more years to finally be able to come together and face everything together, the good, the bad, the ugly and still have a happy ending makes it so worth it.

This was beautifully written to detail how one deals with trauma and essentially PTSD and how unfortunately, you do take it out on loved ones. Tleia fought through that and Gethen and Tleia are able to talk through it all and always be there for one another.

This world is definitely worth the read and I can't wait to read what comes next!

Gritty and raw

This couple went through hell. Warning: there will be plot spoilers. This book really helps set the backstory premise more firmly in your mind. Earth is destroyed as we currently know it and even the wild animals have mutated from the influx of strange, mystical energy. These ridiculously powerful creatures that live for vast periods are the new ruling class and the negative side of human nature is on full display. For anyone who grew up so poor the streets held no fear, this heroine is your love letter wishing you happiness. Homegirl suffered only to realize sometimes even nice things and security aren't worth the price to be paid. I'm praying for the same happy ending to all those like her.

Good second book

Another great book in the series. I liked the first one a bit more but this one was good with snarky characters who manipulate everything to get their way. It’s darker than the first book so heed any CW/TW.

Both the FMC and MMC are stubborn. They fight themselves as much as they argue with each other but they work well together. Ethan is a cutie patootie who can do no wrong.

What I liked most about Tleia and Gethan's stormy relationship was how they both fought, hard, to protect the ones they love. Honour and duty bound may be the morally white path, but it's the decisions made in the gray that require the most sacrifice. Tleia needed Gethan's support and strength, but he relied on her tenacity for survival.

Orc Bound

Alisyn Fae and Emma Alisyn did a got job in this book. It tells the story of 2 bound souls that find themselves. They to through a lot. It has suspense and heartache. In the end they find their HEA. Is it worth getting and reading? Yes, I loved how you read both of their sides.

No where near as good as the first book. It was confusing having the orc go from well spoken English and broken English back and forth in the beginning because it almost felt like you were reading from two different voices. The confusion clears up after a couple chapters but gotta get through that mess first. I probably won’t continue with this series.

I didnt understand anything going on in the beginning. i didnt even know who the characters were how they came to be , who were they and why. It took a while and while i enjoyed the story I still felt lost. Not enough background .

It’s giving narcissistic abuse…

That’s it. That’s the review. The relationship is so toxic it’s painful to read. FMC is a narcissist and it’s painful to watch. No positive character development.

Lots to unwrap in this one as an male Orc and a human woman both fight their upbringings to find happiness together. Tleia has changed herself from a street rat to the wife of an upper class human. But the level of society they move in has dark secrets. As much as Tleia wants her payday, she has to survive to get it and when her husband gets involved with Fae lords that hate each other she gets caught in the middle. Her only happiness has come from her bodyguard, Gethen, who is the only person she can really talk to. Though he is pledged to her husband and thus is honor-bound to obey him, he never looks down on her for the things she is forced to do. But the night she finally snaps could be the end of them both.

These two have frequent clashes as they fight and negotiate their way out of the city and try to get to Gethen's village. The years in prison have weakened Tleia's body, but not her spirit. There is also the little present that her and Gethen's one night of passion produced. Both of them will do anything to protect their son. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

The heroine suffered at the hands of her husband. The hero is her bodyguard.

I liked book 1 better. Book2 had more of a grim tone.
