This is such a fabulous book. I wish I had this back in college when I was a new believer. Banton does a terrific job breaking down the different biblical genres and helping readers to read and understand the bible more deeply. Though I learned from the book, I think it would be best suited for a teen or college student.

Excellent guide to the Bible for young people or those new to the Scriptures! Lindsay makes all the information fun to read by making you feel like you are out hiking in God's creation. She states, "Yes, understanding as much of the Bible as you can is important, but grasping its meaning slowly is better than plowing through and making assumptions." (pg40)
