"I understand what it feels like to not feel like you’re enough for someone."
Juliette and Alex's story, a bodyguard forced proximity romance, didn't resonate with me as much as I had hoped for. I loved the suspense element that weaved through the plot but the romance itself seemed somewhat unconvincing. The steam overpowered the emotional aspect of their relationship and I never felt a real connection between them.
Juliette was a strong, independent, driven FMC, a single mom working hard to do what was best for her daughter. But she was also broken and vulnerable under the surface from the pain and hurt of her past. Honestly, I thought she could do better than Alex as he seemed a bit too forceful and demanding with her. I liked how they challenged each other and pushed boundaries but he was simply too much. I even liked Juliette's ex-husband, Caleb, more than Alex and I liked how Caleb's story arc progressed.
My favorite part of this book was Juliette's 10-year-old daughter, Chloe. She was so smart and loving, capturing my heart and reminding me of myself at her age. I loved what she brought to this story and I adored her relationship with both Juliette and Alex.
Ultimately, this was a story about establishing trust and letting go of the past and all of the accompanying shame and regret stemming from it. This was the first book I've read in the Four Forces Security series and it worked perfectly as a standalone. I liked the side characters, Juliette's friends and the men of Four Forces, and I look forward to seeing what's next for them.

This was an okay book and an okay read in general. I just hate coming across another fmc who refuses to disclose/withholds information that puts her and her child’s security at risk to go along with her “stubborn” and “independent” nature. There was also anal play with no prep involved? There’s technically no third act breakup tho. Idk I just feel indifferent about this book.

Finding Love Out Of Chaos -
Juliette and Alex were both jaded where relationships were concerned, but they felt a pull towards each other, that they tried very hard to resist. However, they had to spend more time together because of the ongoing chaos in Juliette’s life, which led to them engaging in mind blowing pleasures that increased their attraction for each other over time.
Fortunately, Alex was able to resolve the problems that were plaguing Juliette’s life, so they could finally feel safe and happy. However, just as they finally acknowledged their feelings for each other, her ex-husband decided to make an appearance and create friction between them. Luckily, they realised they couldn’t live without each other and decided to grab the chance at having a happy and fulfilling life together.
When I saw the title and read the synopsis of this book, I really thought it was going to be more of an action-packed story, but I was wrong because it was a whole lot more. It had drama, steamy erotic encounters, emotional moments and most importantly a happily ever after for three amazing people who really deserved it.

This one was hard for me to rate. Good story, but I found it lacking in the way of suspense regarding the intimidation of witnesses. Just didn’t do it for me. And the characters were all over the place, gave me whiplash just keeping up with their emotional outbursts. I gave it four stars, but that’s a generous rating.

The Guardian is the 3rd book in the Four Forces Security. It can be read as a standalone. It features Juliette and Alex. Juliette is a single mum to cute 10 year old Chloe and a Lawyer. Alex works as security with his 3 friends and is tasked with protecting Juliette and her daughter when she is threatened. This is the start of their relationship although neither of them want to admit to feelings because of their pasts.
Another fantastic story from Alexis, I love these characters. Alex is this strong protector and uses his reputation as a playboy to stop himself getting hurt. Juliette is a strong woman, very tough and smart. I adored Chloe her characters is a smart cookie very adorable. A well written story with a HEA.

The third book in the series brings Juliette and Alex's story. The author does a great job developing the story and pulled me in with all of the drama, suspense and romance. Add in their banter and Juliette's ten year old daughter, Chloe, and they form a beautiful family. It's well written, moves fluidly and is a terrific story.

This one wasn’t my favorite book. I really couldn’t connect with the characters' love story. It felt like it was all sex driven with Alex being a bit too rough at times with Juliette.
What I did enjoy with this book was Alex’s relationship with Juliette’s daughter. It was really sweet to see their interaction and the way they connected. Chloe was a great character for being a kid and she went through a lot of turmoil too.
I also enjoyed the suspense bodyguard aspect to the story, it was told well and I wish it continued until the end.

Seeking Family and Love
At 29, Juliette Morgan Pierce has it all—beauty, brains, great friends, and a loving daughter, Chloe—a 10-year-old who is a delight. And, she has a job that she not only enjoys, but one where she excels as the head of the legal department for Titan Financial. And she has the three best friends a woman could have, Harper, Blaire, and Aspen. And Juliette, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed, curvy beauty has not always had it all, appreciates all she has. So, by the time Juliette and Caleb’s daughter, Chloe, was a three-year-old, Caleb was chasing his own demons and Juliette became a single, divorced mom in law school.
But, in Boston, when Caleb began hanging out with his wealthy co-workers at local bars to unwind from the tension of the day, his life with the two women in his life—Juliette and Chloe—began to suffer. And, Caleb’s use of alcohol to manage the stress of his high-pressure job was soon enhanced by the use of “recreational” drugs. And while Juliette tried to be supportive of the man she loved, she could not support his method of managing his stress. She had grown up with an alcoholic dad, and she didn’t wish to have Chloe follow the pathway Juliette had walked. So, the loving mom and wife divorced Caleb while she was still a Harvard law student. Juliette has decided she wants to take on a class action suit but she works for a financial law firm and she needs find a big name law firm to take her on. Her friend Brett tells her that his firm has been trying to poach her for awhile. Juliette gets in at Steinburg, Goldman and Thompson and they will allow her to work on the class action suit. The lawsuit is against Delmore Manufacturing for unsafe working conditions and extreme toxicity. Juliette is a single mom to Chloe who is ten. As Juliette is leaving work late one night and she feels like she is being watched. She gets in her car and there is a note on her windshield. It says You’ve been warned. She goes to her friend Blaire’s house where Chloe is and she talks to Blaire’s husband who works at Four Forces Security. She tells Jameson that she had a slashed tire a week ago and a package that was empty on her porch. The Delmore Manufacturing has a law firm Prince, Dune & Bellows and they represent all the bad guys in New York. They are very powerful and they can make people disappear. Jameson tells Juliette that he will send one of his guys over to help her get set up with security. Alex is at Four Forces Security. There are four guys who were in special forces together and when they got out they founded Four Forces Security. Alex is known as the playboy since he is never in a relationship, he just has a romp with a woman for a couple times and moves on to the next one. Juliette thinks Alex is cocky but he knows his stuff. Juliette doesn’t want Chloe to know what is going on. Juliette and Alex flirt a little but when Juliette gets a call from a man who threatens Chloe and her she freaks out and calls Alex. After Juliette got a judge to approve of the case it is now a lawsuit. Brett and Juliette are celebrating and Alex shows up. He tells Juliette that he needs to clear any visitor and that includes food delivery. Alex is jealous of Brett but there is no need, Brett is married to his husband Nathan, he is gay. That night Alex goes a little too far with his attraction to Juliette. Especially after she had been drinking. Chloe gets along great with Alex and that scares Juliette because of how Chloe’s dad broke both of their hearts when he disappeared. Juliette thinks that she doesn’t need a man but Alex wants to show her that she does. Alex was hurt in a relationship and vowed to never be in another relationship. That was before he met Juliette. Now Alex not only thinks a lot about Juliette but he is also drawn to Chloe. Will Juliette win the class action lawsuit? Will Alex be able to keep Chloe and Juliette safe? Will Alex realize that he wants to be with Juliette and Chloe? Will Juliette realize that she has been picking the wrong type of man? Will Alex and Juliette find happiness together with Chloe? Will Alex and Juliette find love together?

Alexis Winter is back with a new release from her Four Forces Security series.
The Guardian, a bodyguard, forced proximity, single parent romance navigates through Alex Rockwell and Juliette Morgan Pierce’s story, told in their dual perspective.
When it came to the narrative that Alexis delivered with Alex and Juliette’s story, it started off strong IMO.
Not only from establishing a strong path, but allowing the layout of foundation to be set when it came to following along in the journey that would turn into a bit of a messy ride.
With two headstrong characters like Alex and Juliette, it was no surprise that the story was going to be anything but smooth sailing.
And the proof was in seeing their interactions with one another, if they weren’t at each other’s throats bickering, pushing and pulling, going back and forth between each other.
Then it was drama, since their personalities had them butting heads, neither willing to back down to each other. Which was taken to a whole other level all the way on the other side.
The relationship shared between Alex and Juliette was interesting and entertaining at times.
Despite their metaphorical attacks on each other, they made up for it when it came to their animal attacks of getting down and dirty.

One thing that was highly enjoyable was Chloe, Juliette’s 10 year old daughter.
She manage to add the pizzazz it needed at times, as it seemed to be lacking IMO.
Whilst the story was all good and well, since it kept me going for a good majority of the book.
Unfortunately there were some short comings that needed to be known.
The first being Alex and Juliette’s relationship, whilst it was entertaining to follow along.
It was lacking in allowing any real connection being formed, instead focusing more on the steamy aspect.
Resulting in no real and true romance, especially since there wasn’t even any growth to be presented between the two.
And the second short coming IMO was the narrative did seem to lose itself with becoming a little lacklustre and no longer having the oomph that was there in the beginning.
In the end, despite my issues The Guardian still ended up being an enjoyable read to me. And has me looking forward to the next book Alexis Winter will be releasing from Four Forces Security series.

When it came to the narrative that Alexis delivered with Alex and Juliette’s story, it started off strong IMO.
Not only from establishing a strong path, but allowing the layout of foundation to be set when it came to following along in the journey that would turn into a bit of a messy ride.
With two headstrong characters like Alex and Juliette, it was no surprise that the story was going to be anything but smooth sailing.
And the proof was in seeing their interactions with one another, if they weren’t at each other’s throats bickering, pushing and pulling, going back and forth between each other.
Then it was drama, since their personalities had them butting heads, neither willing to back down to each other. Which was taken to a whole other level all the way on the other side.
The relationship shared between Alex and Juliette was interesting and entertaining at times.
Despite their metaphorical attacks on each other, they made up for it when it came to their animal attacks of getting down and dirty.

Four Forces Security is back and this time it's Mr. Playboy himself, Alex that finds himself falling for the intelligent, stubborn and fiercely independent single mama, Juliette.
Juliette is a big shot lawyer working on what has the makings to be a big time class action lawsuit against a company that is known for getting dirty and making problems disappear. When her safety is threatened- she is instantly assigned Alex, much to her dismay, as her security. Alex is a pretty easy going guy but 100% a big alpha guy that doesn't like to be told how to do his job- which of course is the first thing that Juliette does.
The way that Alexis has shaped Alex and Juliette's story is a great mixture of entertaining, suspenseful with pops of drama and sexy. Like really, good grief... she really turned up the heat with these two. I will say that there is a time or two that it felt like Alex was a little excessive with his roughness with Juliette while others it had more of that feeling when an alpha in the streets wants to be conquered in the sheets. Nevertheless- I really did enjoy the almost clashing of personalities and wills that volleyed back and forth between them. I'm not exactly sure of the timeline but I will say that it did feel like Alex went from confirmed bachelor with a handful of regular "fun" to being all in, head over heels with the woman that he laughed off the possibility of falling for in a short amount of time. But it also didn't feel like it was rushed since they were forced together almost 24/7 and the high tensions lead to high feelings but I did feel like they didn't quite form the love connection as much as a sexual one.
I adored the relationship between Alex and Chloe though. He was absolutely so sweet with her and their personalities meshed in the most adorable ways and it was really kind of Chloe that was the catalyst connection between Alex and Juliette.

Juliette has worked hard to get where she is. Now she wants to do some good for people who have been harmed. She and her best friend start a class action suit representing the people that got sick or died due to big company’s harmful substance. That is without downside in her personal life. The worst is she feels guilty for not spending more time with her daughter Chloe. She is the only parent Chloe’s got now. Her ex is an addict and gave up his parental right completely. Recently Juliette starts to get threats. One of her best girlfriends is married to a guy owning a security company. The bodyguard she gets is Alex with a playboy reputation. Juliette and Alex butt head from the get go. Juliette is strong, feisty and demands her privacy, like a good lawyer. Alex demands his client’s cooperation when he is on the job, like a real alpha man. Does he also feel not good enough for a high power lawyer like her and her daughter? Along with their fights, they can’t help with the attraction to each other. Alex tries to be detached, because love is how you get hurt. But he doesn’t seem to be able to help himself with Juliette. The threats get more intense. The law firm representing the big company is coming after her with hidden cameras in her bathroom, get to Chloe in her school, etc. In the midst, Chloe and Alex get along famously. Suddenly Chloe’s father appears and wants to restart a relationship with Chloe. This is a complex story. There is all the actions and streamy sex, and there is emotional roller coaster ride. The end is very satisfying. I enjoy it.

I loved Alex & Juliette's story they were both to strong characters, I was so engrossed in their story that I ended up reading it in one sitting.
She was a first class lawyer aswell as an amazing mum who had brought up her daughter Chloe be herself but after taking up a new case that she was so passionate & determined about it became a lot more complicated. She went to her best friend's husband who runs his own security firm for advice, he told her he would put Alex one of the other guys to check her situation. She was not happy about it seeing that he was a well known playboy & that they were blowing the situation out of proportion & didn't want her daughter Chloe involved or to find out.
Alex was annoyed at how dismissive she was about how much danger she could be in with this high profile case & used his alpha action to make sure she knew that he was in charge & he loved the power he gained.
The sexual chemistry was way off the mega hot charts between them which which brought a lot of complications with it.
In keeping Juliette & Chloe safe we saw steam, sass, anger & upset together with a little girl Alex couldn't help but fall in love with but that was not part of Juliette & Alex's deal.
Once you start reading you won't want to put it down hoping there something to celebrate at the end.

I can’t tell you how many Alexis Winters books I have read—well, I could. I need to search and count them, but it’s a lot. Alexis and I—because we are on a first-name basis…in my head—go back to the “Forbidden Desires” Series in 2018. I’ve read her Friends-to-lovers, Best Friends Brother, Office Romance, Small Town Romance, Billionaire, and my favorite Age Gap books.
Her newest, “The Guardian,” is book 3 of the Four Forces Security Series and Alex and Juliette’s story. The story is full of suspense and spice.
Juliette is an attorney and single mom to her ten-year-old daughter, Chloe. She is working on a high-profile case that suddenly gets intense and needs security for her and her daughter.
Alex, a former Special Forces agent, is assigned to Juliette. Alex is all Alpha, which is challenging for the independent and career-focused Juliette. Alex is not looking for a relationship or love but slowly connects with Juliette and Chloe, but with Juliette’s negative history with men, she is hesitant to start anything.
Much like Alexis Winters’s books, The Guardian had a suspenseful plot and strong characters. But what I like the most about Winters’ books—is her dirty-talking commanding MMCs and the scenes she writes them in. They are smokin’ hot, and Alex and Juliette combust.

Juliette is involved in possible the largest class action lawsuit of her life and then mysterious things begin happening. Her best friend is married to one of the founders of the Four Forces Security Company, so she reaches out for help due to what she believes are pranks of some type. As a strong woman she has found that she must be in control at all times just to be treated as an equal in business. In Alex and Juliette's case, she has a hard time adjusting to Alex's dominance which he begins to assert as his attraction towards her begins to increase. Alex finds Juliette's stubborn nature frustrating as he tries to get her to understand the danger she and her adorable 10-year daughter Chloe are actually in. Juliette is resistant and fearful at seeing Alex and Chloe become closer due to her past bad experiences with the "love 'em and leave 'em men" she has experienced in the past. While protecting Juliette and Chloe, Alex finds himself slowly realizing that he no longer wants to be the playboy type he is usually labeled as being. I can't wait to get my hands on some of the other Four Forces Books to read about the other secondary characters I've been introduced to and get their complete stories.

Steamy, thrilling close-proximity romance between two hard-headed people
I simply love an alpha man who knows what he wants, takes it and tells you what he thinks while doing so. Wink! The banter and dirty talk are perfect.
Juliette Pierce is a very good defense attorney. Her college best friend, Brett wants her to take on a significant class-action-suit to get compensation for sick, fired, destitute and ruined workers involving a big manufacturing company which could lose millions in the suit. Their unscrupulous lawyers are trying intimidation to prevent the suit from going to court. Juliette has had several incidents that scare her so she goes to her friend Blair whose husband Jameson runs a security company along with three other special forces friends: Luka, Harvey and Alex. Jameson asks Alex to run point and take care of Julliette and her precocious 10yo daughter, Chloe.
Oh. My. Word. This is one fast-paced, steamy book and gets even more so when 30yo Juliette gives in to her feelings for 35yo Alex. Off. The. Charts Hot! They both have baggage that keeps them from committing but we all know how a Ms. Winter’s book will bring it all together neatly in the end. And that cover! I am fanning myself!! Juliette is a lawyer taking Delmore Manufacturing to court, fighting for all the people who have been extremely sick to the point their medical bills are climbing & people have no money to pay for it & those employees who have died. This multi-million dollar lawsuit proves to be challenging when she’s being threatened to drop this case or else! Alex is hired to protect both Juliette & her daughter, Chloe because of the threats. Both are trying to keep it on a professional level but their attraction is undeniably powerful. Both are hesitant to make the first move because once this lawsuit is finished, so is his protection for Juliette & Chloe.
A great story on a single mom not looking for love & her protector disillusioned on what love really is & not wanting to commit because his girlfriend from years ago strung him along. A classic lawsuit like in the Bible where David slews Goliath. Juliette is ‘David’, Delmore Manufacturing is ‘Goliath’ & the rock represents Alex who helps Juliette win the case. Young Chloe’s a smart kiddo by working her magic on them, encouraging them to stop fighting their feelings. Love these kinds of HEA’s!

This is book 3 in this series and is Alex and Juliette's story. These two have both been very hurt in the past and have defenses in place so they don’t get hurt again. Juliette is working on a high profile case and she starts getting threats, so she tells her best friend, Blaire’s husband and has Alex be her bodyguard. These two have seen each other before so they are not strangers. Alex has thought and still does think that Juliette is gorgeous. With her being a client, he knows he can’t have anything to do with her. Besides, he is a confirmed bachelor/playboy and has the reputation of sleeping around. Juliette has one focus and that is protecting her daughter Chloe from getting hurt. These two butt heads right from the start. Alex and Juliette agree to this being just physical, but what happens when feelings become involved? You need to read and find out. These two have amazing chemistry and are highly attracted to each other. They may just be the other’s half and can heal the pain each of them has endured.

Whiplash
I had a hard time with this story. Neither one of the MCs was likeable, there was too much conflicting actions/words and not enough emphasis on the whole reason he was guarding her.
Juliette was uptight and judgmental. She acted like she was too good for Alex, obviously choosing to forget her background.
Alex was supposed to be this sexy man who knew how to please women, but in the OD scenes he was crass, inconsiderate and rough. I one point, he darn near raped her, taking her anally when she was drunk and not stopping when she said it hurt. Yeah, he has real finesse....not!! Forcing her to give him a BJ because she came w/o permission, smh!
Juliette was supposed to be so concerned about misleading her daughter, but she had no problem have sex, for hours, with her daughter down the hall.
She wanted not to be treated as "just for fun", but when Alex expresses feelings, she pushes back at the idea.
This is the first book by this author that I didn't like and I am sad.

Was expecting more suspense
Was kinda disappointed with the lack of suspense. I was hoping for more plot than there was.
Juliette takes on this High profile Class action lawsuit. Things start happening that she pushes to the back of her mind as small unfortunate events. She confides in her best friends husband who runs security.
I wanted so much more action. You get some blackmail photos, so off the pages action against people who are to testify. A couple phone calls of threats. Planted bugs off pages. Nothing that is remotely exciting.
It was all drown out by the sex scenes.
Alex is an Alpha males who likes control. When he meets Juliette again her attitude is amusing at first. When she doesn't get that she in danger, Alex gets frustrated.
She doesn't take things seriously, all the while putting herself and daughter in danger, while claiming she's protecting her daughter and herself. Some of the things she pulls contradicts that statement.

Working as a lawyer on a high-profile Class action case puts Juliette and her daughter, Chloe in danger from threats from the Lawyers defending the class action. When Juliette mentions this to her best friend Blairs husband, Jameson, he initiates Alex to watch over Juliette and Chloe. This starts their story, A story with lots of feels that have you wanting more. Alex hides behind his past, not wanting to have his heart shattered again and Juliette, with her tough exterior having to raise her child on her own for many years, does not want a womanizer in her life to disrupt both her and Chloe's lives.
Both do not want to make their feelings known for each other, but Alex does like that he has to try hard to win any affection from Juliette. He finds the chase enthralling, whereas Juliette finds it hard to ignore her attraction to Alex. a well written love story with enough heat that you want more with a delightful HEA.

Love Alexis Winter's series and this is no exception.
The third book in the series and it is Alex and Juliette's steamy romance.
I could not put it down
Juliette has been recieving threats since she took on an action suit against a very powerful New York company.
She is scared for herself and her daughter and confides her fears to her best friend and her Husband.Jameson asks Alex to protect them.
Juliette does not trust easily and Alex is known as the playboy.She definitely does not want to give into the attraction between them.
Alex does not do relationships.He is attracted to Juliette and they do give into their chemistry.Chloe is also getting attached to him.He will do anything to protect them.
They fall for each other,but because of their pasts it takes them a while to admit their feelings.
There is humour,heat,danger,great friendships,romance and a well deserved happily ever after.

Juliette is a high powered lawyer who requires protection for her and her daughter while she oversees a high profile case. Enter Alex of Four Forces Security. What follows is a fiesty bodyguard/client relationship between 2 very head strong people. I really enjoyed this story and the dynamic between Juliette and Alex. He being a domineering playboy but meeting his match in strong, self assured Juliette. Did feel a bit insta-love to me though and rushed, especially the last few chapters, and I would've liked to see more character development between Alex and Juliette and Alex and Chloe too. Very sex driven too (which is great) though felt a little selfish and rough on Alex's part in places which made me a tad uncomfortable.

What a great read! Alex has all the things that you think is a c¤ck¥ @$$hole. He is confident, sexy and protective but also a one time only guy. He is not interested in anything permanent. Then he meets and assigned to protect Juliette and her daughter, Chloe. Juliette is a strong female character who's smart and confident. She is a smart lawyer who would rather take care of herself and Chloe. I love the court case she takes on.
Together these two have powerful chemistry. They are s€xy. I love the way humor is interjected into their encounters. I read this pretty quickly as I enjoyed the world created. I found a few twists surprising and would recommend to anyone who love protector romances.

Another great book in this series. Juliette has found herself receiving threats over a case she is working on, so in order to protect herself and her daughter she agrees to get a bodyguard to protect them both. Her bodyguard, Alex, is a renowned playboy and as strong headed as she is, so it isn’t long before they clash. However soon the sparks between them fly, no matter how much Juliette tries to prevent it. What starts as a casual agreement soon turns to a lot more for both of them, especially when the threats towards Juliette become more real, but after being hurt in the past, they are both unsure of what the future looks like. A really great book. Fantastic characters, lots of drama and loads of passion that will leave you hot under the collar. A great book!.

Of course the relationship changes when Alex must move into Juliette's home. The story definitely becomes more steamy, but it also has a sweet story with how Alex interact with Juliette's daughter Chloe. There are twists and turns with this story, some you do not expect. This story is not only steamy and sexy, it also has suspense with some humor sprinkled throughout. Grab your favorite drink and settle down for a great ride!! Enjoy!

There is a lot to admire about Juliette. She is brilliant and hard-working, a loving single mother. But she’d been so disillusioned by her ex-husband and last relationship that she wasn’t willing to let her guard down for any man. Alex has had his share of loss and has coped with that by being Mr. One Night Stand with a revolving bedroom door. Despite knowing the type of people she was dealing with, Juliette sure didn’t seem to take seriously the amount of danger she was in. I certainly understood Alex’s anger at her rather casual disregard for his rules which were FOR HER SAFETY! Good action, steam and suspense. Loved Juliette and Alex.

Juliette was a sassy kick ass lawyer, independent single mother who didn’t need a man for anything and was doing well in life until her new case turned her life upside down. Then Jules met her match now she has to deal with the ultimate alpha Alex who is charged with keeping her and her daughter safe. They are like oil and water, fight like a cats and dogs, pushing each other’s buttons. More importantly get under each other’s skin and seems to stay there. Watching them come to an understanding and friendship that turns into more is so fun to watch. And her daughter Chloe steals the show is is a firecracker. Of course there is some twists and turns but they figure it out and become stronger for it in the end. I’m glad that they found their happily ever after.
