First of all thank u so much @lovenotes.pr and @b.blackwood for providing the arc to me🫶🏼
The Isle is a story that captivated me from the first lines. I couldn't tear myself away. The whole book I sat holding my breath and not knowing what would happen next.
The story begins with the fact that Quinn, who is a therapist, learns that her friend Laura disappears under strange circumstances. At the request of Laura's husband, Quinn comes to the island where Laura lived and begins an investigation into where Laura went🤔
And everything that happens next is simply unbelievable.
Plot twisted🫣
And the end…OMG🤯
You must read it! This story doesn’t leave me even after the end😫

Title: The Isle 📕

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had the immense honor of diving into The Isle from B. Blackwood, and I honestly can’t put into words how much I enjoyed this experience. This book was a rollercoaster of suspense, intrigue, and heart-pounding mystery that left me breathless until the very last page!

B. Blackwood masterfully weaves a web of mystery in this thrilling and addictive book. The suspense is extremely intense, and the plot's twists are EVERYTHING! I definitely did not see that end coming.

From the beginning, this book had a very interesting tone. I felt as if I could trust no one, even the love interest, everyone was a suspect on The Isle. As I turned each page, I couldn't help but admire the author's ability to keep me guessing. Every clue, every revelation, and every unexpected development kept me on the edge of my seat!

I'd also like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to B. Blackwood and Love Nots PR for the ARC opportunity. It's an honor to have had the chance to experience this thrilling journey before its official release.

In conclusion, if you're a fan of thrillers, The Isle is an absolute must-read. It's a gripping piece that will keep you guessing until the final page. Thank you, B. Blackwood, for this unforgettable literary adventure!

This book! I genuinely cannot express how much I enjoyed it, from the first page it had me hooked and a quarter of the way through it I was already completely paranoid and convinced I was being watched, which is always a great sign of an amazing thriller. This was also a super fast read, I finished it in pretty much one sitting because I physically could not stop myself.

I really loved Quinn's character, seeing how her past traumas impacted her ability to deal with this situation as well as the cute short-lived romance she had with Luke (I beg you to write a romance with these two). I would have loved to see more about the event with her sister that caused the trauma.

This book had me judging absolutely every single character at some point, all I know is that I should not be a detective because I would have had the whole town arrested.
I did guess a portion of the ending, but not the full thing, the twist completely threw me and had me questioning everything I had read previously.

Would highly recommend and will definitely read more work by this author :)
The cover also makes so much sense after finishing the book.

*Thank you to B. Blackwood and Love Notes PR for the arc, I had a great time

I simply cannot find the words to express the sheer enjoyment I derived from "The Isle." From the very first page, it ensnared my senses, and by the quarter mark, I was gripped with paranoia, half-convinced that I was under surveillance. Such is the power of a truly outstanding thriller, and this book delivered it in spades. It held me in its thrall, to the point where I could not bring myself to put it down, finishing it in almost a single sitting.

Quinn's character was a standout, her past traumas expertly portrayed, casting a long shadow on her ability to confront the current situation. The brief yet endearing romance she shared with Luke left me yearning for more, and I fervently hope to see these two in a dedicated romance story. There's a thirst for knowledge about the event involving her sister that left its scars, and it would make for compelling storytelling.

One of the book's triumphs lay in its ability to make me scrutinize every character. At some juncture, I harbored suspicions about each of them, with the certainty that, if I were a detective, I'd have the entire town behind bars. While I managed to piece together a portion of the ending, the full scope of the twist caught me completely off guard, prompting a profound reevaluation of everything I had previously read.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book, and I eagerly anticipate reading more from this talented author. The cover, in retrospect, takes on a newfound significance after delving into the story.

My journey into "The Isle" by B. Blackwood was an absolute delight, a relentless rollercoaster of suspense, intrigue, and heart-pounding mystery that left me breathless right up to the final page.

B. Blackwood masterfully crafts an intricate web of mystery in this exhilarating and addictive novel. The suspense is palpable, and the plot's twists are nothing short of mind-bending! I could never have predicted that ending.

In conclusion, if you're a fan of thrillers, "The Isle" is a must-read. It's a gripping narrative that will keep you guessing until the very last page.

Quinn Pierce, a therapist trying to outrun her past, receives a request she can't refuse. Elliott Bennett, the husband of the missing girl Laura Bennett, asks her to help find his wife and her former college roommate. She arrives at Harrow Isle, a guarded community where the Bennetts call home. But she is anything but welcomed by the island’s community.

Quinn’s character development throughout the book was amazing. i could not put this book down because i needed to know how Quinn would be of help in helping to find Elliott’s missing Wife, Laura.

The twists thought out the book had me second guessing and suspecting every character had a part to play in Laura’s disappearance.

Quinn is given Laura’s phone and on that phone is a collection of voice memos which provide Quinn with possible clues as to where Laura may have gone and how she was feeling at the time leading up to her disappearance.

This quote from the Blurb “Harrow Isle holds a deadly secret, and someone is willing to kill to keep it that way” does not lie. the end had me with my jaw on the floor. i couldn’t have read this book at a better time. if you enjoy thrillers that have you constantly second guessing what is happening then this is a book i would highly recommend for you!

4.75 ⭐️

The Isle is about Quinn Pierce, a therapist trying to outrun her past and is made aware of a friend’s disappearance.

Considering this is one the first mystery books that I’ve read I love it.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I was questioning every single character and their motives on every single page and chapter.

I was hooked from the opening prologue all the way to the end and bonus chapter. To saw my jaw was on the floor the entire time is an understatement.

3.5 ⭐️! (i received this as an arc) This book was so suspense and eerie. This book had me looking over my shoulders and wondering if someone was watching me lol. the last 3 pages had me shook & 100% you should read this book especially if you are wanting to try the genre out!!! Quinn had me shook when she read the journal she got from laura. The only thing i was confused about was why Quinn didn't read the journal as soon as she got home. Also the romantic in me wanted more from Luke and Quinn even tho it would be completely unnecessary lol. All in all go read this book!!!!

The Isle, 4/5 ✨

I love the fast paced setting of this book. If I didn’t have to sleep I know I’d devour this in one sitting. It’s just what I needed because I was sort of in a slump when I started this book.

This story follows therapist, Quinn and her search for her missing college friend, Laura. The search leads us to Harrow Isle; which harbours more secrets at every nook and cranny.

We’re told the story through Quinn’s POV in majority, which I enjoyed. She remains level-headed throughout the book despite how much the situation could bring forth her own trauma and emotions.

The way the story unfolds though it seems as if more than anything the environment Quinn is thrown into is unreliable. We’ve heard of unreliable narrators, well, her surroundings are what I find unreliable.

Some of the characters gave me the creeps even after I was done reading (Mrs. Fleming, I’m looking at you) .

There is more to than what meets the eye in this book and I love how the story unfolded. Honestly, my jaw was hanging at the 80% mark because I did not expect that to happen.

The final twist that is unveiled leaves the reader feeling satisfied but with more questions brimming over. It’s sort of an ending where you have everything before you but you can and will draw your own conclusions.

This is something I enjoy in certain thrillers, where I have more questions at the end and this book happens to hit that mark.

Also, I absolutely adored Luke and Quinn’s bond. Adorable banter and the way the two of them understand each other. I’d love if there was more to them but thats just the romance reader in me wanting more of the sweet time they spent together.

The thriller reader in me was much happier focusing on unraveling the mystery.

At first you may dismiss the isle for what it is a background setting but the way the pages keep turning you will realise how it too is an important character of the book.

If you love fast paced books, with twists and unsolved mystery vibes then this book should be a sure shot read for you.

Also fellow swifties whenever the red scarf comes on page I can only hear All Too Well TV 10MV in my head.

thank you to lovenotes pr for providing me with the opportunity for giving me this ARC opportunity.

🌶️ Rating = No spice

This was such a good short psychological thriller! There were many twists and turns! I could predict some things but in the end I was surprised to watch it all unravel!

In this book we meet a couple different people. We meet Quinn who is a therapist who lives in the city! She has her patients that she cares for and a life she has grown accustomed to. That is until she receives a phone call that changes everything.

The phone call she recieves is from Elliott Bennett, the husband of her college roommate named Laura. But she hasn't spoken to either of them in years so why is he calling her out of the blue? Turns out Laura is missing and left a voice memo stating that if something happened to her to reach out to Quinn.

Quinn is confused but makes her trip to Harrow Isle to help Elliott search for Laura. But she doesn't necessarily get embraced with open arms when she arrives on the island.

As she begins digging for answers to find Laura she is finding that everything isn't always as it appears on the outside. People are keeping secrets from her and she's finding that she can't trust those around her.

Buckle up for this one but you definitely go on a crazy ride! There are many twists and turns! The suspense keeps you on your toes and you will be reading to the last page to unravel the ending!

Read this book if you like:

This was an ARC thanks to @lovenotespr

3.8 A Fast paced mistery short novel.

Quinn is a psicologist living a peaceful life in seattle who one day gets a phone call from her ex-college roommate's husband.
Laura is missing. And she left a voice memo asking for her help.
Quinn then decides to investigate the secrets of the island, but most importantly what happened to Laura?

Ok so this one was fun to read for the most part, i had my suspects from the beginning and i was wrong! It was a surprise to discover who and how everything happened.
The scene building was great. I could picture really easily the vibe of the town and the house, the service people too.
The friendship/relationship between Quinn and Luke was really natural, they had a thing from the start and it was nice to see it become stronger as time passed.

One thing i didnt like was the investigation. It gets you nowhere. We spend a big part of the story next to quinn studying the towns history and trying to get to know the people, but we don't get much information only the basic, and then she just stop her search even tho there a lot of thing with no answer.
There weren't many cliffhangers and the ones that we got were solved in the next chapter.

The reason for the "mystery" were ok (i was like you go! What they did was shit, you are a drama queen but keep going) except for the "feud" with quinn that one made no sence to me!

ohmygod this book was absolutely insane!!
i read this in one sitting at 1am because i couldn’t put it down.

quinn pierce is a therapist in seattle, she lives a regular and normal life until elliott bennett calls her with an unexpected request: to help him find his missing wife laura, who happened to be quinn’s college roommate.

this book is filled with mystery and questions and the fact that the development of the story happened so quickly made this even better - even though i would eat a few more chapters up.
i was hooked for the entire book, every single chapter kept me waiting for the next one and i was so excited to know what was going to happen next.
but the plot…THE PLOT was what got me more shocked, i was definitely not expecting it and now i just want a sequel so i can understand it better.

overall this book was an easy 5/5 stars, it was the first thriller without a romance that i read - not counting luke and quinn’s moments cause those were adorable - and i think it made me absolutely fall in love with the genre.
can’t wait for “the actress”, i just know it’ll be as amazing as this one.

thank you lovenotes pr and b.blackwood for trusting me with this amazing arc!

The Isle is a thriller-suspense book that heavily revolves around the chilling mystery of the disappearance of Laura Bennett, the wife of Elliot Bennett; who is a family member of the "founding fathers/family" of Harrow Isle. The story follows Quinn Pierce's path in uncovering the truth of both Laura's disappearance and the mystery of Harrow Isle.

The story kept me on my toes and continuously and consciously made me think in every step and every progress in the investigation. I am not normally a fan of thriller or suspense books. However, B. Blackwood's writing style is just right up my ally. The story was well thought of and well written. There are no parts where I thought, "Well, that line/phrase/sentence does not make any sense." I think this book is a must-read if you want to start on this specific genre of books. It's not too long where you'll get bored but not too short either where you feel like you did not read anything.

"If you're listening to this voice memo, chances are... chances are that I'm no longer alive."

The Isle is a fast paced psychological thriller that follows Quinn Pierce, a therapist, to Hallow Isle where her friend, Laura, has been reported missing. We follow Quinn on her journey to discover where Laura is and what exactly happened to her. Quinn must work to discover the truth in a town riddled with secrets and townsfolk who are far from willing to divulge the truth.

I was hooked to this plot from the get go! Blackwood has managed to twist the plot in such a way that you are constantly on edge. The story takes many turns and as a result, you're left suspicious of everyone until the truth is laid bare in the final few chapters.
I loved that the story involved so many different characters and I especially enjoyed the way each one was woven into the plot. The story was captivating and riddled with suspense.

I would definitely recommend that you give this one a read. Fans of Gillian Flynn and Freida McFadden will love this one.

Yep, this book definitely messes with your psych 10000%. Read this book, it's great 🖤🖤🖤

I had the privilege of reading this as an ARC. Thank you so much to B. Blackwood and Love Notes PR for the opportunity.

I read this in one go. It really sucks you in from the get-go. Whilst reading this, you think, oh yeah, I know what's happened to Laura, Quinn's figured it out. Next minute your like wait, what the heck is going on??? This book is full of twists and turns, and you just keep wanting to turn the page to find out what is truly going on.

The ending was insane 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Blackwood did amazing at bringing the story together, and it left me astonished by the outcome.

Laura is something else for sure, she was written so well! Quinn was spectacular, and I am so glad she found Luke. Their connection was exactly what they both needed and deserved.

The side characters were very strange and spooky also...

The Isle still has secrets left undiscovered, and I would definitely love to read another book based in this spooky little town...

🖤 dual pov (Quinn and Laura)
🖤 psychological thriller
🖤 so many secrets...

4.5 ⭐️ Thank you so much for this ARC, I had a great time reading this book!! I read it on a plane, which is high praise because usually I’m too scared of the plane crashing to be distracted by anything.

“𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧.”

The best sign of a thriller/whodunnit for me is when you’re consistently unsure of who is to blame, and then in the end all your predictions are wrong. I totally got that in this book - I had no idea who to believe throughout.

And the ending of this book was not one I predicted at all. I love any author willing to put a huge twist right at the end of the book!

The romance was a subplot, but I loved the comfort/support that Quinn & Luke got from each other. It was nice to have the wholesomeness of their relationship when the rest of the events were so stressful for the FMC ❤️

“𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲. 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟. 𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐲. 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐬”

Thank you B.Blackwood & LoveNotes for this ARC. Can’t wait for The Actress ☺️

This book was absolutely sensational; it had me from the get go!

I had the pleasure of reading this as an ARC, and I could hardly take my eye away. It had twists at every turn, and I was very much a fan of the way a lot of the chapters started off quite normally, and then had a major event take place.

That plot twist at the end was shocking, I never saw it coming. Especially when I suspected Elliott the whole time. Laura is a straight-up psycho, to set up her own disappearance, poison her husband and then frame her best friend (allegedly) for the whole thing.

My favourite character was Quinn without a doubt. She was not only relatable in terms of how she described her struggles with her mental health and what she’s been through with her sister and everything. I was also a fan of how determined she was to find Laura. Although, I became very impartial to Luke. He was absolutely perfect for Quinn and helped her learn things about the island that she perhaps wouldn’t have known otherwise.

Big thanks to B. Blackwood and Love Notes PR for giving me the opportunity to read this.

Sadly this book wasn't for me ..

I'm a huge thriller fan and I didnt see what I search in a thriller book.
I think it's perfect for someone who wants to discover the genre but for who read a lot of them it really wasnt enough.

There wasnt enough build in the stroytelling, the plot twsist were ruch and didnt make any sense.. Lot of things happened to fast and without enough explanation and it really lost me.

The writing style was still really good but it just was too "soft" i guess for me ..

And the romance didnt make any sense to me?? It took to much place in the story, and I would have loved to see more investigation from Quinn to find Laura.

Laura just cale back at some point and I dont know it wasnt right, like how did they discover her, what was the things that led to her ?

At this specific moment I knew the plot it was too obvious and it really disappoints me, I would have prefered that she was really kidnapped by someone and see a bigger plot twist like the new lover being responsible of all of it.

Thank you to the author and love notes pr for sending me an arc copy to read and review!

This was such a good thriller! I didn’t see the plottwist coming from a mile away and I had to stare at my wall for a good 15 minutes after finishing. I didn’t trust a single character so I was always kept on my toes. Safe to say none of my guesses were anywhere near correct!

The romance sub plot was also absolutely adorable and I am begging the author to write a romance book about those two (though that might just be the romance lover in me talking).

I will, however, say that I wish some of the side plots had been explored more. I won’t say what exactly, as I don’t want to spoil anything, but there were some plot point which were brought up to add to the mystery that I just felt were brushed over and weren’t really mentioned again. I thought the story would’ve benefited from a bit more exploration into these plot points. However, I am primarily a fantasy/romance reader so definitely take this criticism with a pinch of salt!

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book!

I ATE THIS UP SO FAST! I was physically unable to put down this book. I read it in one sitting. I was so intrigued and each chapter had me wanting to know more about what happened to Laura and what the heck was going on in this creepy ass town.

I really liked how it all played out, the different POVs and timelines really kept things interesting. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed, and I wish we found out more about the other disappearances that happened in Harrow Isle, but I thought the twist was really clever.

This is a fast-paced, engaging psychological thriller that is highly addictive! I was on the edge of my seat dying to find out what happened next, I thoroughly enjoyed this. The Isle releases Aug 28th. A perfect book to get you in the mood for spooky season!

A fantastic psychological thriller as Quinn Pierce travels to the remote Harrow Island after her college friend Laura goes missing in strange circumstances. But once she arrives she finds an code of silence from the islanders and begins to wonder just how well she can really know someone she hasn’t seen for over ten years.

I loved this book. Set against an atmospheric island setting complete with a host of suspicious characters my mind was working overtime as I read as I tried to figure out what had happened to Laura. Full of twists and turns, The Isle grabbed my attention from the prologue and the suspense continued to build throughout before reaching a shocking climax. With a hint of a romantic interest for Quinn and a few loose ends I’m hopeful that we haven’t heard the last of her and her story will continue in future books.

The Isle follows Quinn, a therapist who is dealing with the disappearance of her friend Laura and trying to get to the bottom of what happened to her. Laura’s husband Elliott calls Quinn and asks her to come to Harrow Isle, where they both live, to search for Laura. As Quinn spends more time in the Isle she finds that it’s hiding some dark secrets and that Laura’s disappearance might not be the first.

This was such a fast paced thriller that I read it all in one sitting! B.Blackwoods writing is really engaging and had me rushing to find out who was behind this. The characters and Isle itself had a really creepy vibe that had you suspecting everyone.

Highlights: Mystery, Thriller, harrowing, betrayal, easy read, fast paced
Favorite Character: Quinn
Honorable Mentions: Elliot
Character that grew on me: Luke, I was skeptical of him, waiting for the shoe to drop that he wasn’t as perfect as he seemed. Never came though.
Favorite Scene: The ending of course, the final “mic drop” Laura played on Quinn.
Overall thoughts: overall great book, I think additional flashback of Allison and that trauma would have fit in well with the story. Do they find her? - left us hanging
Star Rating: 4 out of 5
Why: it was a great book, the twists weren’t as “wait what did you just say” as I was hoping. There was also a couple things I wanted more of (Alison, Relationship with Luke, more of the History)
Predictions: I hope that Luke and Quinn live happily ever after and that Quinn gets closure with Allison.

this was such a good debut novel especially with it being a psychological thriller! im not normally reading thrillers but i am so glad i was able to read this because i enjoyed this a lot!

quinn is a therapist who is suddenly recruited into coming to harrow isle to help find her college best friend laura who has suddenly vanished, while in harrow isle she starts noticing some weird instances that have previously occurred.

the theories i had within the book were crazy on who did it and why they did it just for the plot to take a turn i was not expecting at all

i do wish the ending was a lil different because it felt kinda rushed, and i wish that quinn was more involved in finding laura, like she was there but it did not feel like she tried too much

overall this was a good and easy read, thank you for b.blackwood and love notes pr for letting me read this as an arc!

The Isle is a phenomenal psychological thriller which was impossible to put down until the last page. It is well written with amazing characters which include Laura and Elliott Bennett a wealthy married couple who live on Harrow Isle, Quinn a Seattle psychologist who was a college friend of Laura, and Luke who owns the only bar on Harrow Isle and is the son of a wealthy family. Elliott sends for Quinn at the request of a recorded phone message by his missing wife which leads Quinn on a journey of twists and turns in a place where she is repeatedly told to “trust no one”. I highly recommend this excellent and mysterious thriller.

I received this book as an ARC.

I liked the premise of the storyline, a woman who has married into a family that holds a prestigious place within a secluded island community goes missing.

Unfortunately, I found there were too many plot holes. I couldn’t grasp why Quinn, a college friend of Laura’s, the victim, would be called on to help solve a possible kidnapping when there hasn’t been any contact in years.

The lack of police interest was baffling.

A romantic interest develops while Laura’s life is in the balance. Laura’s journal, which may hold a plethora of clues, is read one entry at a time between dates where surely that would be an item that you would pour over immediately.

I didn’t see the plot twist coming which is always great.
