Though a short story, enough happens to introduce the reader to the reality of Andomhaim, a kingdom standing in opposition to the Heptarchy of the Seven Temples seeking to feed these inhabitants to their gruesome gods.
Andomhaim is magical and well protected by Ridmark and his soulblade and the knights. Magic rules.
Yet the Heptarchy keeps on pressing attacks, including red orchs. Yet even more stealthy creatures are an ever present danger.
The Final Shield introduces the reader well into this violent world, readying the reader to an action orientated world where one tends to sleep with ears pitched to hear the unnatural.
Enjoy.

Is Ridmark back?
Just finished the Dragonskull series only to find a new thread with Ridmark! An old enemy is still around, growing bolder. Can't wait for the story to be revealed. Good job, Jonathan.
