The conclusion of this series was way more than complicated than I was expecting. We finally get the answers to the mystery that’s been building since day one. The elusive Amelia and the mysterious Mountain are front and center in this last book of this Shadow Recon epic adventure. I guess you could say there was a little romance but not until the end.
“Instincts,” she suggested, “finding that part of you, finding that piece of your soul that’s been missing and that you didn’t even know about.”
Then we are hit with a shocking cliffhanger that has me chomping at the bit for more.

Another great read from this author, but I have to say I'm shocked, not by the circumstances happening on base, but the ending to this book. That's all I'll say so I don't drop any clues. There's danger and secrets revealed. It may be the ending to this series, but not the ending to this story. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This has got to be one of my favourite Dale Mayer series, I have so been looking forward to Mountain's story and, Wow, what a story, and Wow, what an ending.
Mountain Bear Rode was based at the International Arctic Training Camp, a camp aimed at training military personnel from different countries in the skill of Arctic survival.
Things haven't gone well at the camp, men have died in suspicious circumstances, men have gone missing, the fear in the camp was palpable.
Mountain's mission had been to find his brother Teegan, one of the missing men, it had taken a long time but Mountain was determined and Teegan is now back in the camp, he is in a bad way and his life is still in danger, does he know too much ? or does he know nothing ?
Teegan's life had been saved by Dr Amelia, Amelia had been head of a scientific research group situated quite close to the military base, that was until unaccountable incidents started happening there making it dangerous to stay and the camp was shut down but not before Amelia went missing.
As this story unfolds Amelia finds herself at the military base in need of urgent medical attention, the base is the last place she wanted to be.
The body count rises, could Amelia be connected ? she trusted no one at the base and no one trusted her except perhaps Mountain and Teegan.
Mountain was attracted to Amelia and he would move heaven and earth to keep her safe........but can he succeed ?
This story has edge of your seat suspense, it has action, intrigue, subterfuge, deception and one heck of an ending, Oh, and of course the gentle romance between the giant and the scientist.

In the prologue of this book Mountain is interrogating Chef Elijah. He's not getting any answers, and nothing is making sense. Then Magnus tells him Amelia is here in bad shape with Sydney.
Arriving at the clinic Mountain is stopped from asking questions as Sydney frantically works to stop Amelia's bleeding. There are two recent bullet wounds and if she's to save Amelia's life the bleeding has to stop.
Magnus and Mountain agree nobody should be allowed near her other than them and Teegan. At least until she's awake and talking. She obviously avoided coming here and they suspect she thinks the shooter is here.
When Amelia wakes, she's still not certain about things. Little things that seem to have no connection but might. There's certainly plenty of threads to pull on. She also offers theories of her own to theirs.
We see more of the new investigator Samson, as he and Mountain talk to her about what she may or may not have seen. Elijah is a main topic as well and some startling information comes in about him as well.
In the course of watching over Amelia, Mountain's attraction is noticed by a few people as is the fact she appears to be attracted as well.
Things begin to come together as Teegan visits Amelia for the first time. Little things are remembered, and new things discovered.
This takes a twist I totally didn't see coming, and the people involved shocked me as well. I loved the way it all comes out and the relationship between Mountain and Amelia. The way the dogs are handled and so much more. Truly the perfect ending to this series.

Mountain was determined when he got to the Arctic to find his brother Teegan but what had started as a series of mysterious events to deadly ones. He also wondered what part the mysterious Dr Amelia had played in it all as like a ghost she slipped in and around everyone and just what was her problem with the base, and her end game? Dr Amelia Morrison had seen too much in her life to trust anything she couldn’t fathom with her own eyes. What she sees at the international military training camp disturbs her but she needs to stay close even if she wants to run for cover. But the mountain of a man keeps her coming back plus she was able to keep his younger brother alive. Together, Mountain and Amelia need to solve this nightmare before no one else is left alive.
This was a fitting end to the series and finally made it clear who was involved in the killings and the attempts to sabotage the camp. It seemed that no one knew everything and it was a team effort to put it all together into something coherent. The drama and tension were ramped up in this conclusion store and the ending was just wow. There were a lot of emotions at the end and I felt sorry for some of those who were caught by a lie that just escalated. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MF book with some mature content at the end.

....but none of them are the answers we expected and throughout this book you are constantly guessing, second guessing, doubting and questioning your thoughts on who is behind the madness and mayhem on base as more lives are lost. Thankfully we finally get Amelia back, but she has just as many holes in her memory as Teegan, which doesn't help Mountain and his investigation. However, we also get to see more of Mountain's protective side here, we saw a little peek when Teegan was rescued, but Amelia brings out protective feelings and actions that surprise even Mountain, and it is a pleasure to see him fall!
As dark and twisted as the answers are, Mountain, Mason and the team never waver from the investigation, their determination only increases as those close to them are targeted and the horror of the answers they find....has them stunned, but more driven than ever. I love the injection of "Samson", this made me smile when all was revealed, although I was not smiling with the blow and the huge cliffhanger we received on the final page, which leads us into the new spin-off series. It takes only seconds for relief and jubilation to become heartbreak, devastation and fear.

I knew this was going to be a real humdiger of a story, the series has all built up to this one... The Climax! Boy it was good. More twists and turns, clues, threats and guessing. Suspense and some action, lots and lots of questions. I got mostly the answer I expected but it was way more convoluted than I thought, it wasn't straight forward and in many ways it was heart breaking for some. This has been an experience from the first book to the last, the development of plot and characters is astonishingly amazing. The layers upon layers of complexity and intrigue are just fabulous. The setting harsh, beautiful and deadly. It's well written and possibly this authors best work yet, and that's really saying something because I love all her various series for very different reasons. Her mind as it works out all the details but extends them over the course of this series is phenomenal. The ending was sweet, romantic and hot. The epilogue ? 😲😯🙆♀️🤷♀️🙅♀️❤

Mountain may have saved his brother Teegan, but the danger is far from over when they still don’t know who is responsible and why. It is only made more challenging with Teegan’s memory loss and the fact that Amelia is still missing. Her return only creates more questions as she has been seriously injured.
Amelia has so many questions both when it comes to the suspicious activities at the camp and the other people there. Although she has her reservations, she believes the best chance to survive and uncover the truth is by working with Mountain however the feelings she begins developing for him were another surprise she didn’t see coming.
Mountain and Amelia take us on quite the adventure that is filled with intrigue and surprises as they search for the truth and find love along the way.

I really enjoyed reading Mountain this is book eight in the Shadow Recon series . This story as the first seven in the series takes place in a military training center in the Arctic . Mountain arrived in the Arctic camp when he found out his brother Teegan went missing while out training . There has been issues and danger at and around the base the entire time of the training rotation . When the mysterious Dr. Amelia Morrison shows up injured Mountain vows to find the answers they've been looking for and protect Amelia and definitely put an end to the problems . This story is outstanding. It's intriguing and Suspenseful with twists and turns I never saw coming . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Mountain & Amelia
Wow! We finally get some answers! This starts out with many twists and turns and it gets quite exciting when snippets of the truth are revealed. Little by little the riddles start to unravel and make sense, questions start to get answered, people start revealing what they know.
Relationships become real when those involved realize that tomorrow is not promised and they need to take life as it comes and make the most of it.
I love Mountain and his determination to find not only his little brother, but to find the answers to the struggles and murders happening all over the base and outside the area. All of the characters in this series had great qualities and remarkable attitudes towards their fellow teammates. They all showed immense patriotism and loyalty.

The mystery in the Arctic is finally solved as Amelia ends up in the medical centre fighting for her life after being shot. Mountain becomes her guardian as he is not leaving her side since she may know who the murderer is and who tried to kill his brother. Amelia doesn’t know much and doesn’t trust anyone at the post, as the killer sets his sights on Amelia, Mountain will do whatever it takes to protect her.
A good read with twits and turns, surprises, and answers to close the mystery. A good ending to this series and the epilogue will have you on the edge of your seat as the next series starts up.

Fear can cause people to do drastic things. Nobody can leave the military training compound, but more people come in to replace those who have died or are missing, plus the special team of investigators. This is not received very well, and chaos ensues.
Mountain has to rescue Dr. Amelia. Trust is the biggest issue with her. They work together to figure out who is the killer. Mountain is quite sure who is the mastermind of all the nefarious killings and incidents at this particular base, but who is the actual killer. And someone keeps trying to kill Amelia. I did figure out who the mastermind was but not the killer. Great twists and turns to this story.

(4.5) What a wrap for Shadow Recon. So much is happening in Mountain, with the mystery we have been following since book 1, with Amelia popping up and Chef being held. When I was guessing in each book I guessed correctly for the perp, but whoa there is so much going on here! When it's all laid out you are floored with the interwoven connections and relations. Then the epilogue.....jaw dropping.

This is the 8th book in the Shadow Recon series and I do recommend reading them in order as we follow the dramas and mayhem happening at the Artic training camp. Mountain went up to look for his missing brother and leads the investigation involving murder, arson and a frightening about of other crimes. Hoping to find scientist, Amelia and that she will have any idea as to what is happening at the camp. We come to the conclusion in this story.
Well-written, intriguing and wonderful likable characters. Definitely recommend this series.

Amelia is recovering from her wounds and slowly helping the team piece things together while Mountain's protective nature is shining through. I really enjoyed how this had a different feel as we weren't out in the open and roaming around so it felt mor intimate, but I felt so betrayed by Chef and just wanted to shake him, but the Team are have been collecting clues through out and it all falls into place with some good twists and a ending that ... well you need to read.

The main guys in this series are so secretive. There are times I just want to reach in and shake them to find out what they are thinking. It all comes out at the end, and what an ending it is. So much happens and brings everything together. A few things were mentioned that I forgot happened in other books. So much I want to say but don't want to spoil the surprises for anyone.

Oh my gosh! I won't give out any hints, but Wow.. this novel was amazing. So many surprises, and the huge twist at the end. Heartbreak and betrayal for a few of the characters, and so many twists. Questions get answered, and the murderer is revealed. This series was an incredible ride, and the ending was well worth the wait. Another captivating read.

This was a great book. Mountain finally found Amelia and now that he found her he has to keep her safe. Lots of twists and turns to finally get the answers as to what is going on and who is behind it. The very end is shocking and sets up the next series by the author. I can’t wait.

Loved this twisty and complicated ending to the series. Dr Amelia was the last missing person and while she's shown up at the military base, she is in critical condition. And to top it off, she is presumed to still be in danger as they don't know who attacked her. There are so many betrayals and other subterfuge it definitely keeps you on your toes.

Tension, suspense, thrills, danger, twists and emotion make this an intense page-turner that will keep you hanging off the edge of your seat and guessing right until the end. Mountain and Amelia were great complex characters, and their story was the perfect way to end this absolutely amazing series.

This was a great book. Finally Mountain’s story.
Lots of excitement, danger, mystery, intrigue, twists and turns to finally get the answers as to what is going on and who is behind it.
All the characters have been well created and constructed.
The very end is shocking and does end on a cliff hanger, setting up hopefully for the next series.

We're back in the cold but we are finally getting answers. Mountain and Amelia are the lead in this one. Lots of answers with twist and turns, lot of secrets from the past. What an ending! Great story you won't be disappointed be prepared to stay up late.

What a great book. The intricate plot had me guessing who was behind it all. Mountain was an interesting person. Being there to assist the investigation and finding Amelia. Sampson was a shock. Couldn't put it down until the very end.

The conclusion to this book fits perfectly with all the books leading up to it. Amelia is a strong female who is determined to stay safe. Mountain is a force all by himself. HEA included.
