When my Granny dies I don't know what I'm going to do. She's the woman who raised me and who took me in after I finally got away from my abuse Ex. But now that she's gone I'm left alone.
That is until a wolf shows up on my doorstep. He says I was promised to him and he's here to claim me as his mate. He's hauntingly familiar and I feel drawn to him in a way I don't understand.
But I don't want to belong with another man, or wolf. Not after the way things ended with my ex. It doesn't matter how much my heart is drawn to him or how much I desire his touch. I can't let myself fall in love with the big bad wolf.
Some scene coordination issues at times. For example, if he's going down on her as he 'ruts the bed as the animal he is' how did she end up covered in his... baby juice (I'm so sorryyyy, please don't unfriend me 😭😭😭💀) or the bad guy lunging for her and the hero shaking the ground he's running so fast to get to her... only she was behind the hero at the start?
Beside that... I don't know, this is 59 pages long, there's not much to say. ・ ・ ・ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕮⋆˚࿔✎𓂃 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Definitely a fast burn and a VERY short read. I noticed some minor grammatical and/or spelling errors within the book that were missed in editing, so that’s disappointing…
It wasn’t really for me but I’m sure it’s someone’s cup of tea. I will say, it’s one of the better books that I’ve read that I haven’t liked.
I feel like it was almost too fast paced? The FMC seemed almost too compliant… or, rather, it seemed like there was too fast of a switch shift. Sure, the bond could have a role in it, but I would have preferred to see this story stretched out a bit more. Even if it was only over another 50 pages… Just, something to keep it believable.
Then again, a wolf romance isn’t exactly “believable” since it’s fantasy, so I’m not sure what I’m complaining about.
This is a quick and dirty novella that I read as a palate cleanser between books!
It’s a really short story at only 58 pages so fits in at a half an hour read.
Fenris and Scarlett are fated and this is a story of how they end up dealing with it, it’s a spicy red riding hood retelling with a set up for the next book as well.
There is some background history but it’s very light as it’s so short and a lot of it is taken up with spice. It’s a HEA, fated mates story between a wolf and human so if that’s your jam and you’re looking for something quick and straight to the point, this is the novella for you!
I love paranormal, shifter, bonded, and fated stories this missed the mark.
Fast-paced, short, spicy retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.
The Wolf, Fenris is a werewolf is the "good guy"? The grandmother calls for him to save her granddaughter when her ex beats her and leaves her near death. So he bonds with Scarlet to save her life.
The grandmother gives the wolf her granddaughter not thinking about what she might want or the fact that she is going from one life where she had no power to another? Scarlet had no control in this story and is just complacent and that bothered me GREATLY.
It was a little too fast and much for me.
I was set to give this 3 stars but after the epilogue..... Are you telling me he only has a wolf form? Hmmmm that tetters on Bestiality and I am not here for that. If that tad bit of information had been left out and left the imagination I likely wouldn't have thought about the hows. However, the "snout" description earlier in the book gave me pause.
It’s not a werewolf story but a wolf man, monster, icky thing. He remains a wolf through the whole story. With a snout, and fur. Ew!
So I didn’t like that at all.
And there’s the typos, and the underwhelming story. And contradictions. Fenris saves Scarlett but says this bonds them. 6months later he appears to take her and gives her one last night. He says he doesn’t want to control her but kidnaps her to his forest den and won’t let her leave. Is that not controlling her…….but eventually Scarlett gets some Stockholm syndrome and begins to think she likes Fenris. And then a scary monster used to be wolf man appears to attack Scarlett. Somehow he’s able to grab Scarlett despite Fenris putting himself in front of her. And the fight seems to be going in favor of the other guy until human Scarlett bashes him with a rock and tells him to scram. Of course, monster dude listens. Riiiight…🙄
So Scarlett gets some icky wolf sex and then has a baby that does shift from wolf to human-looking (the werewolf).
Writing and story was not good. MCs were not good. It’s short and that’s the only good thing.
BEWARE: Basically beastiality, MC is not a shifter but a full-time wolfman! So, I guess the cover gave it away but most werewolves & wolf shifters have a man form & a separate animal form. Many have an in-between form that is used in battle, often times even called a 'battle form'. That's what I thought this was. I was very wrong. He has a snout & licks her like an animal/dog. There really should have been a warning on this. I'm not into furries or beastiality. An MC can have some horns or a tail, whatever, but this is too much for me. I got this cuz it was free but it was a mistake.
This story gave what it was supposed to give. Would i have liked Scarlett to give in to the bond before Fenris life was at stake? Yes but she gave into it nonetheless! This was a great short story. I’m excited to read about Silas! He sounds like a real piece of work. Overall good book!
Definitely a different version of Red riding with a caring, protective wolf and an abused Red. Very quick story with a twisted fairytale genre. I'll admit is was different and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
I was going to give it 3 stars but one thing bothered me most….she had no say in her fate. That disturbs me cause how can she be truly happy. Also, lots of grammatical errors in this. The fact that this is novella sized is probably its saving grace.
