Clare Bentley is a married mother of a son and a daughter. She discovered a love for creative writing in secondary school English, which was the only lesson she cared to attend. But the only thing she ever wanted to be was a mother, being just 19 when she had her son in 1995 and a daughter 17 months later.
She started writing fan fiction when her children were small and she needed an outlet from the privileged role she played in their lives - in a bid to have a hobby. That developed over the yeats and in 2007 she wrote a fan fiction based on the TV show, Supernatural. It got people's attention. Once her kids were grown - 5 years ago - she decided to take the advice of friends and try her hand at writing; something that was hers, with a world and characters she created from scratch. It took 4 years for her to write her debut novel - wanting to do it the justice it deserved... and that led here.

So this is a little different from Clare, but her style of writing always keeps me reading and wanting it to just keep going I really need to turn off the percentage so I don’t know how far through the book I am, I keep thinking NO! It can’t be nearly done yet, but Clare just has this way of keeping you hooked no matter what the story line is, I won’t spoil it but when you have a woman scorned and women’s intuition it sure dose make an interesting scenario! Love it Clare as always!

Alexia wasn't looking for love, neither was Josh. Just a hot summer fling. No strings.
But the best laid plans sometimes don't happen. And when a baby comes into the mix, things take a dramatic change. Especially when she goes back to the island and there he is... complete with a partner.
This is a beautifully written love story with twists, turns and a huge helping of angst. I was fully engaged with the characters and was cheering for them all the way. But the course of true love never runs smooth. And when Josh's partner, Gabriella, comes into play, things get messy. I won't say anymore as I don't want to spoil the plot for anyone.
Looking for Him was one of those rare books that had me hooked from the start. I read it in one sitting, which is also very rare for me. But the story hooked me right from the start, until the very last word. Well worth a read.

I received an arc copy of this book. She's gone and done it again, this is another fabulous book from Clare I've waited a while to get my hands in this one and I can say I was not disappointed at all. As per usual once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down, I can definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to escape from the real world for a little while. I love the details Clare includes in her books,, so much so that I really want to visit the island myself to experience the beauty and adventure it alludes to. If you haven't read one of Clare's books yet then what are you waiting for now is the time to do it. Thank you Clare for another amazing read I look forward to the next one.

A change of pace for Clare Bentley, but a very good one! Looking For Him sees Alexia looking for the man she had a holiday fling with to tell him some life-changing news. Against the odds, she finds him, but the situation isn't quite what she had hoped.
This story is an ideal read for those who like a gentle-paced romance. It explores both the hopes and disappointments of a man and woman who have found themselves in an unusual scenario and their determination to navigate their way to a happy ending for everyone.
