People travel to the Enduar Mountains for two reasons: death or diamonds. Estela isn't supposed to find love.

As a slave to the Giant King, Estela's life is an endless torment. Her sole hope is to escape with her half-brother and find refuge among the elves.

Teo, the Troll King, is desperate. His people are dying, and he's running out of options. When the giants come for diamonds, Teo's crystal sings.

The slave is the king's mate, and with her comes a solution to save his people.

Even after the king steals her from her masters, Estela's one desire is to flee. She doesn’t see herself as the savior of the Enduar Trolls. She would rather die than be their queen, and, by extension, his mate.

Any amount of time with him is dangerous. His stolen glances and longing stares won’t make her forget the truth—if she stays, she’ll still be caged.

To Steal a Bride is the first book in Estela and Teo's duet, but it is part of a larger series called Entangled with the Enduar. It is an enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance featuring a desperate heroine and a powerful hero. This adult fantasy romance is perfect for readers of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Danielle L. Jensen.

Note: This story is an adult/new adult novel with mentions of trauma, abuse, and illicit meetings between consenting adults, as well as other mature themes.

This book has gotten awesome 4 star and 5 star reviews so please don't come for me with my 2 star review but I just couldn't get into this and really struggled

ARC review

There were many things I liked:
- the magic system and crystals, this was quite unique!
- the fmc struggle with accepting her new life based on the knowledge she had grown up with. It was good to see her protests and not just quickly be okay with her situation
- I'm a sucker for fated mates and being able to communicate through the bond
- the plot

Things I didn't like which is why the review is a 2 star:
- the writing style, the sentence structure, the communication between the characters. I just could not get into it, struggled with reading it and unsure why. If English is not the authors first language then this would explain why. It just feels that alot was over described and things I wanted to know more about wasn't described well at all. The writing didn't flow and I felt it was a hard read. I also acknowledge this was an ARC and not fully edited as I found many, many errors I assume will be fixed before the book goes live.
- the characters are extremely boring. They had no personality whatsoever or chemistry despite being mates.
- I would've liked more world building. I just didn't feel we got alot of this and we're expected to know what the world look liked. Unsure if I missed alot of it as I struggled to read it?

Writing style, chemistry between characters, personality and world building is what I look for when reading and unfortunately it didn't hit the mark for me.

This was a bit of a disappointment honestly. I liked the premise but the actual plot and characters fell short of my expectations.

Estela was a slave to the giants and was traded over to the trolls seeing that she is the mate of the troll king Teo. The giants have endocrine their slaves to hate the trolls by feeding them lies on how they treat humans, so when Estela was rescued, let’s say she is less than thrilled.

What went downhill for me was that Estela really was stubborn and acted like a child (she is 25). I understand being stubborn and the enemy but she was stubborn to the point of rudeness and her way of thinking did not reflect that of an adult. Her virginity bothered me in this book for multiple reasons. One, she didn’t even know how bodies function, and two she didn’t even have her first kiss yet. I’m sorry, but if you’re going to write a slave book on how graphic they are whipped or beaten, and then put in how her friend had go to the breeding camp, you HONESTLY cannot tell me this 25 year old was an ignorant slave to such matters. I cringed and rolled my eyes so hard they almost fell out of my head. If the writer wants to use the slave trope, all good, but make it actual believable. I wish she was able to have more character growth than she was presented but her character fell short for me.

I liked Teo. He was patient and allowed Estela to come to her own terms on how the trolls really live. He gave her space and time no matter how much it would kill him, slowly trying to coax her out of her stubborn, childish ways.

I think the plot could have been better if the writing was better. It felt more of a YA style writing for me, and the dialogue between characters did not feel as fluid or natural.

There is a cliff at the end but nothing could get me to read the next book.

I was obsessed with Enduvida from the start - what a beautiful realm. All these sounds and lights of the stones I want to take in.
It was a little harder for me with Estela and Ma'Teo, but towards the end I was of course full of love and then anger because of the cliffhanger.
I'm looking forward to the next book!

Book Playlist: 9/10
Lore: 10/10 (heavily detailed)
Tropes: 7/10 (fated mates, enemies to lovers)
Spice: 5/10 (heated stolen moments, 2 sexy scenes past 40% of book)

Ok this is DEFINITELY one of those books I could not put down. I became obsessed with what was going to happen next. If you want to write a slow burn, this is how you do it. It was crafted so perfectly with a mix of deadly plot and stolen romance moments that I was not frustrated with the slow burn of it all. Of course who wouldn’t love the one-sided enemies to lovers part of the story. The characters were amazing and I love the mystery of this lost enduar population, and learning all about their culture because it was just something so unearthly. The fact that there are several supernatural races plus humans all in one universe in this book is so fun because there is so much to pick up. What shocked me the most was the fact that our FMC starts off as a slave to giants making it almost impossible for her to get away from her captors if it wasn’t for the enduar who is mated to her without her knowledge. It was incredible and no detail is spared in this book to help you understand all the dynamics.

Typos, grammatical errors, poor punctuation.

FMC was intolerable. MMC was ok. I was more interested in the side female and male characters - they had more life and personality. I'm a sucker for fated mates, so I kept trudging along with this but it was just not great.

I made it about 88% through this book and am marking it read vs DNF since I put alot of effort in to it. Won't be reading the second installment.

"Sometimes, I wish that love left a little bit more for me."

🗡 Trolls, Gaints, Humans, OH my!
🗡 Fated Mates
🗡 Crystal Magic
🗡 Slow Burn
🗡 Age Gap
🗡 Interspecies Relationship
🗡 Touch her and die
🗡 "Who did this to you?"
🗡 Steamy 🌶🌶
🗡 Dual POV, 1st person present tense
🗡 Spanish sprinkled throughout
🗡 Cliffhanger / To-be continued ending

Such a great read with easy world building, great characters, and a slow burn romance that will leave you wanting more!

I look forward to seeing where the story goes in the next book!

...

Other notes: This is not my first book by this author and won't be the last (otherwise,💀, if she stops now! I need book 2 after that cliffhanger!). One point she makes in her books is to have some Spanish, and this book has cliffnotes, so all you need to do is tap it, and you get the English translation. There is no need to know Spanish, Google a translation, or be turned away from this book! Such a unique take with the languages in the book, too!

...

Thank you, Daniela, for the eARC copy. This is my honest opinion and thoughts on the book.

The change in her in this book just didn’t make sense to me. I was reading this as a break before starting my next series and didn’t realize this was the beginning of a series as well. I’m hoping I like the next book better. I feel like there just wasn’t much development in the characters.

This is a better version of Bride of the Shadow King. I don't know which one came first, but both feature large blue skinned kings who live in an underground kingdom with special crystal and bioluminous mushrooms. And I am so into the aesthetic for some reason.

Call me a cave troll, but I loved the cave kingdom created here. For a b-tier romantasy, it's rather fleshed out. We see a people struggling with natural resources (at the beginning at least), and with bodily modifications to living underground (although that does not explain the tail). I am however wondering why no Troll romance has ugly Trolls, they are all handsome blue man. I grew up on Lord of the Rings and Dragonlance and those types of books, and Trolls were some ugly fuckers.

I also liked Estela as a main character. The whole torture schtick at the beginning was a little overdone, but I liked that she was not trusting and scared and unwilling to believe that what she had been told wasn't true. Her having to go through some soul searching to accept these people felt real, and made for a better story.

Teo is a better king than Vor from Bride of the Shadow King, and a bit better of a person, but besides that he is still rather bleggh. Just like in Bride of the Shadow King, the second in command steals the show (Daniela plz give us a Vann / Arlet romance).

Its a fun little read, excellent for on a plane or when your brain refuses to work properly.

I come away from this book with tepid, unsatisfied feelings. Another one I got lots of ads for that just didn't work out. The art the author commissioned for it is very pretty, though.

The ideas had potential, but the author failed to execute them in an engaging way. The very title feels a bis misleading because of how quick and simple the titular "theft" was. I would have thought the very act of securing her from slavery would have been more monumental if the whole title centers on the stealing of the bride.

Estela was an irritating heroine; I get the idea of what she was supposed to be: afraid and angry because she's lived a life as a slave. It just didn't feel like she was righteously upset, it felt like she was reacting purely on emotion and prejudice when externally there was nothing supporting her beliefs or feelings.

I think a better approach would have been to have made Estela wary of kindness; to recognize that the enduares are being kind but to presume it was a trap and if she let her guard down she'd be hurt. This feels like a way more natural trauma response than simply going I have heard you eat people and are evil and I'm certain it's true! It has to be!

Or like... if she needed to have the character arc of realizing she's been unjustly hostile and offensive to them, I feel it could have been better executed because even when she has the change of heart, it comes about way too easily and fully to feel natural. Her emotions fluctuate so strongly and rapidly, I struggled to believe in her character development. I mostly just felt like she was kind of a brat despite being 25 and having gone through a lifetime of trauma as a slave.

The male lead was likeable, I appreciate that he is sweet and hardworking, he's fine. Nothing amazing to write home about, but he certainly was more fun to be in the head of than Estela.

The romance is typical fated mates nonsense; it's basically instalove, just with Estela's portion being delayed because we need 200 pages of her being irritating and horny first before she goes actually I do want to be mates forever.

World building was a bit lacking, concepts are just sort of tossed out into the reader's view without much exploration of things beyond a few brief snippets of history to vaguely explain things. For a fantasy, it just felt... lacking. Like it relied more on the overall mythos of "trolls" in modern fiction than in developing itself.

For example, I'm still not clear what the "song" that's constantly mentioned really was because it's just... "the crystal sings" or "the song was intense." Okay, why does it sing, what do the songs mean, do you literally hear a song, is it more metaphorical/in your head/vibrations? Why isn't Estela freaked out to have the crystal "sing" to her or take more time to think about it in her head, therefore conveying it to readers or asking the enduares about it? It's like readers are just supposed to "get" that trolls like crystals and crystals are magic and important. Personally, if the crystal is literally making an audible sound almost non stop (like either outwardly or just in her head) that would drive me absolutely bonkers, I'd be overstimulated to the point of breaking down.

I also found the inclusions of Spanish like... just... out of pocket. It really didn't do anything but be something personal from the author, who says they grew up in Mexico. The human society doesn't seem based on Spain or Latin America, it's just treated like the "human" tongue, which works I suppose, but in a fantasy, the author could have just made up absolute gibberish to try to distinguish the various languages used.

As some other reviewers cited, the editing was a bit lacking. I noticed a handful of really noticeable typos/errors (like missing words) throughout the book, but it wasn't so constant or severe as to affect readability, in my opinion. Could just use another pass over or two to catch things.

I am mildly curious about the sequel just to see what happens but goodness, I am not sure I want to give more time to this story when I found this half so dissatisfying to read.

If you’re a fan of monster romances that feature fated mates then you will love this slow burn romantasy that is chock full of sexual tension and “touch her and die” moments. ⁣

Estela is an enslaved human to the Giant King who ends up becoming the prize to Teo, the feared Troll King. All Estela wants is save her brother…not be Teo’s fated mate or anyone’s queen. ⁣

From the beginning, I freaking loved Estela. Even though she’s grown up in horrifying conditions, she refuses to let anyone break her spirit. Estela is so fierce and when she does start to let her walls down to learn more about Teo and his people, she remains a loyal friend and sister. ⁣

Teo is a gentle giant…literally. Teo will do anything to protect his people and loved ones and does exactly that. I loved that he was patient with Estela especially after all of the trauma that she endured. He never pushes her or expects anything more. They were such a joy to watch together!⁣

And don’t worry, for all of the spicy scene lovers out there, the scenes were definitely worth the wait !

Thank you to the author and Book of Matches Media for providing a review copy. This did not influence my review. All opinions are my own.

Rounded up to a 2 because there was some potential there. Only made it 70% of the way through. I think the story could have been good, but the writing was...clunky? The conversations were disjointed, reactions didn't make sense, and I couldn't connect with any single character. I bet it could be really good with a fresh editor and a little reworking.

Ohh my heart!! I loved this story so so much. The world building was absolutely incredible, I am now wishing I was living in Enduvida 🥰

Teo and Marcela’s story is what a slowburn is made of, the whole time I was loving the angsty banter, the push and pull had me swooning 🥵 Estela is seriously so strong, I loved her determination and Teo being the ever loving protector king we love in romantasy ❤️

I seriously just love the magic of it all, the gems and stones and everything in between. Seriously such a beautiful story, it does end in a cliffhanger which I was shocked! Lol I need the next book asap!!

I can always tell when a book is 5 stars for me when it takes me a couple days to sit back and process the journey I just went on. To Steal A Bride did just that for me and more - I was enraptured by Estela and Teo’s story right from the beginning. Firstly, I loved the incorporation of crystals in each of the chapter headings, and also throughout the story as different forms of healing under the mountain. I also just really love crystals 🤍

Estela’s distrust of Teo and the Enduares at the beginning is completely reasonable considering her history, but the dual POV format really made me fall for Teo from the beginning. The love and respect he had for Estela from the beginning was obvious, and it really demonstrated the angst and tension he was experiencing throughout the book. I never thought I’d enjoy a tail on a MMC but Teo can sure make it work!

What struck me the most from this story was the character development we experienced in Estela. I can always appreciate when characters (people in real life too) can take responsibility for their ignorance and/or actions and to work on reconciliation. At points, I wanted to strangle Estela for being so stubborn, but the unconditional love and respect Teo showed her, even at her worst, teaches the reader an important lesson - we all deserve grace and the chance to move forward from our mistakes, despite the errors they have made in the past. And I loved being able to experience the growth in both main characters in this story.

** please note that I was provided with a digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All points stated above are entirely my own.

This book is wonderful. Every time I had to set it down, I kept thinking about it and was excited to pick it back up again. This type of book- high fantasy, fated mates- is out of my comfort zone and not something I’m drawn to normally but I really enjoyed “To Steal a Bride”.

I have to say, Estela was irritating to me as a character, but throughout the story you begin to understand more about why she is the way that she is. I so badly just wanted her to let her guard down earlier on in the story, but I think it made sense for the story that she kept it up high as long as she did. When she finally lets Teo in you can tell it’s going to be an epic love story for the couple.

I see that this is meant to be a duet, and I am thoroughly looking forward to the second book to come out.

One thing I enjoyed about the writing in this book is that there wasn’t an over use of any particular word, that I noticed. I also really appreciated that even though Estela mentioned a few times how attractive Teo is, she didn’t say over and over again how ripped and muscly he is. She may have mentioned it once or twice but then made comments about other things about him as well.

I definitely can think of some people that would love this book, and would recommend this book to anyone that likes high fantasy or just wants to try it out.

... it really needed an editor for story cohesion and repetitive lines. 3 stars because I enjoyed the ride despite the errors.

The giants are traveling to the trolls to trade herbs for diamonds. Estella has a plan to escape that gets botched and she and her brother are punished. They end up at the Enduar mountains where Estella meets the Butcher and hears a haunting melody.
When Teo sees Estella, he realizes she’s his mate and is determined that she will not leave his mountain with the giants.

What I enjoyed: The world building and character building is well done! The trolls maintain their bad reputation by putting on fake canines to appear more fierce than they actually are, and the giants are truly horrible, and yet manipulate the human slaves into thinking they are the good guys and the trolls are evil human eating monsters. And then there are the mysterious elves that I just want to meet as the story goes on.

I also loved all the crystals and gems and the uses they had for them! It sounded so magical and made it sound okay to live underground.

I really liked Teo. The cinnamon roll king who would do anything for his mate(who was rather ungrateful for more than half this book), and so patient too. And then his bromance with Vann was wonderful!

The biggest reason I gave this three stars is because of Estella. At the start, I thought I was going to adore this woman. The love she has for her brother was so endearing, and as someone with siblings, I really appreciated that about her! I really loved her loyalty and protectiveness for him.

That being said, she was so terrible to everyone! Not just the trolls, but to her own friends! I get that she had a traumatic past and I’m sure was done being man handled, but she was rather unbearable for me. She was too stubborn and unreasonable, and really didn’t think about how much better her life was, she only focused on herself and how she felt and that she wanted her brother back. I get wanting your brother back, but going around blaming other people for him being taken away isn’t going to solve your problems. I dunno, maybe I’m just a more logical person, and I think before I act and don’t let my emotions take over my decisions, and so maybe I just can’t relate to Estella. And then, she suddenly just realized she was being terrible and started trusting everyone. It gave me whiplash with her 180 degree change of view of the trolls. And because of that, the romance fell short for me. And it bums me out because I was really looking forward to the romance in this one, but it didn’t end up being believable for me.

The grammatical errors in here were a bit much too. Usually I let it go, but there were a lot of words used that didn’t work in the sentence or were used in a way that I don’t think they’re supposed to be 😅 and it was a lot! Not just a couple here and there.

Well, I am curious to know how it continues, and I also look forward to more in this world. I want more Vann and I want more elves!

I received a free digital copy to read. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rating: 3.5/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: captivating world-building; mind the triggers; she is SO stubborn (to a fault!); vivid descriptions; entertaining, easy to devour; I want more of the backstory for the world-building; ARGH CLIFFHANGERS!

**** TW: assault; abuse; gore; substance abuse; death; graphic violence ****

HUGE thanks to Daniela A. Mera and Golden Glow Press for the ARC copy of this title! My review of this book is voluntarily written and in no way altered or impacted by this gesture.

"I've decided the elves were wise to carry away their brides," he grunts. "Are all humans so quick to go back on their agreements? You'll hurt yourself if you keep flailing around, my star."

This was a magical, captivating read. With the high level of detail and descriptions Daniela A. Mera used to build this world, I honestly wish I could crawl into these pages and live in the "under" (but ONLY there...the rest of this world sounds terrifying and dangerous for little ol' human me). I could clearly "picture" the world as it unfurled while I read, though I had SOME trouble visualizing our characters. I also wish there had been more explanation to the backstory of how the world came to be this way--we got the barest amount of, "it's like this" but no real explanation behind the why.

Estela is a lively, stubborn character--almost to a fault. I felt some of her motivations were a bit TOO over the top for the story--of course, people are people, and often choose to return to awful conditions because that is what they know/the new is somehow more daunting...so I wasn't TOO bothered by this. The rest of these characters are well-balanced and believable, easy to love or loathe in turn.

"Freedom was a dream whispered in the forests. I used to think I would know how to act if I were freed from obligation and assault, but I had no idea until I was left behind in this mountain after bleeding on a trail for four days. Until I was separated from Mikal. When I had a choice, I chose him. The rest of this is a means to the end."

This was a magical step into a creative new world, though that cliffhanger ending TORMENTS me (you ended it there?!?!?!? THERE?!?!?! really?!) I cannot wait to see how our characters fare in the duet when it comes out. I definitely recommend this to lovers of fantasy, seekers of creative world-building, and those looking for the thrill of something "new." One word of warning for you, though, Penguins.... Mind the giants, if you know what's good for you.

Thanks to BOMM and the author for the eARC. This is an honest review and all opinions are my own.

The Giants and Trolls are ancient enemies that were once at war, but have more recently developed a trade agreement. Estela, a human slave under the Giant King's rule, and Teo, the desperate Troll King seeking a solution for his dwindling people, find themselves with a mating bond that neither of them wanted nor asked for.

While I am not typically one who enjoys the trope of 'fated mates', this novel takes a refreshing approach. It presents the relationship as incredibly complicated and challenging. Rather than using this trope as an effortless foundation for the characters' connection, it serves to complicate their lives further, leading to genuine reactions, particularly from Estrella. This approach adds depth to their interactions and emphasizes the effort required to navigate a relationship, subtly conveying a message of dedication and hard work for love.

Estela, the protagonist, carries a profound emotional baggage that shapes her character and decisions throughout the story. Her life has been shaped by her experiences. Her experiences and emotions make her relatable, but often frustrating. This unique narrative perspective diverges from the typical romance fantasy. It explores themes of trauma, abuse, and the intricate dynamics of relationships, offering a departure from traditional 'romance' fantasy while still delivering a compelling tale of love amidst adversity.

Other things I loved:
TAILS!!
Great secondary characters
A soft-hearted king who wears glasses

I definitely fell in love with Enduvida and the Enduares!

In a world where giants, elves, trolls- now known as Enduares, and humans are in the aftermath of one war and on the brink of another, can salvation be found in the hands of a human slave?

I’ll be honest, while I struggled in the beginning to connect to the story, and the FMC, she eventually won me over when she was able to put past prejudices and hurt aside and actually open her eyes to her surroundings and the Enduares that dwell within. I completely understand how trauma can shape your actions and cloud your judgement and as Estela was able to feel safe and healthy, she was finally able to see what was in front of her the whole time.

King Ma’Teo was my favorite. Fierce when he needed to be the gruff warrior his past painted him to be and yet gentle to his people and to Estela as he tries to bring forward a future he never thought he’d get a chance to have. Who knew I could love a blue male with a tail as much as I do?!

I also loved the emphasis on herbal healing and the power of crystals. There is even a fun hidden message within the chapters that will make more sense when you get to the end and the next adventure/battle that Teo and Estela will face.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what comes next and hoping for that HEA at the end!

Has anyone ever cried a little because you finished a book and know you can never read it for the first time again? That happened to me just now.
THIS BOOK Y’ALL. I love fantasy and a good creature romance. I need a troll king in my life, ASAP.

I loved reading these characters and getting to know all of them. It wasn’t rushed at all, making things seem more realistic and natural.
Estela is smart, strong, caring, determined, crafty, fiery.. everything I love to see in a FMC. She is guarded and rightfully so, seeing her navigate through everything her life has thrown at her, yet she still manages to stay so strong, is beautiful.
My new husband, Teo.. such a loyal and faithful king and mate. Carries the burdens of the world on his shoulders, and never complains. He is protective, tries to be understanding, but is also such a force to be reckoned with.

This world Daniela has created was beautiful. I want to live there, honestly. The details were perfect, the descriptions so thorough yet not too much.

I even found myself loving all of the side characters of Estela’s new found family. Normally I’m not too concerned with the side characters in stories the way I am the main characters, but this story changed that. I loved glimpses of them all growing and working together, found myself smiling at the sweet moments and giggling to myself with every little joke and sarcastic remark. (Liana, I love you.)

This book is definitely much lower on the spice level than what I usually read, and I didn’t even care! The tension and slow burn made up for it, and so when the steam was there, it was perfect. Seeing where they started, and the vulnerability and affection they finally found in one another was so beautiful to see.

I’m sad I never get to read this again for the first time, and I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE SECOND ONE.

"When Lo'Niht wrote that a mate was the greatest gift, clearly he had never tried a strong shot of mead."

Can I have a King Ma'Teo? Like, seriously? He is probably one of my all time favorite MMCs. He will do whatever is necessary for his love and his people, even if it is something he doesn't like.

In this new world created by Daniela A. Mera we find Giants, Trolls - sorry, Enduares - and Elves as the ones in charge. Humans are lesser, born and raised as slaves. Estela, a human and our FMC, has lived her entire life fearing her Giant masters, but she is even more terrified of the mysterious Trolls. After an escape attempt fails, Estela finds herself in the under mountain, dealing with the Trolls firsthand. Unfortunately a not-so-friendly wager leaves trapped within her worst nightmare. Everything isn't as it seems however, and Estela must learn to open her mind - and heart - to the beings she once feared.

There are no words that I could use to even come close to describing how much I loved this book. I am so grateful to the author for allowing me to read an eARC copy! Book two seriously cannot come fast enough! The world building in this story was phenomenal. I could clearly picture all the new creatures and locations described and felt like I was right along beside Estela and Teo. Estela infuriated me so much sometimes, but then I had to remember why she was acting that way. Mera created such a depth for her characters that allowed for beautiful growth and change throughout the story.

That ending though.... cliffhanger!

To Steal and Bride is the first book in the Entangled with the Enduar series by Daniela A. Mera. This book had a really interesting magic system an premise and overall I enjoyed it. There is also a fated mates romance with a strong enemies to lovers trope. I also really enjoyed that trolls and giants are some of the featured creatures in this story. I don't see too many troll romances, so that was a nice plus.

In To Steal a Bride, we meet our prickly main character Estela. She has had a very tough life so I completely understand why she is so prickly, but I did expect her to warm up a little sooner than she did. She is tough little thing. She has been a slave to the giants for her whole life, so to go from them immediately to the Troll King was not an adjustment that she welcomed. Even if the Troll king himself was completely adorable and her fated mate. She fought their connection at every turn.

Teo, the Troll king was my favorite character in the story. I loved him and I was rooting for his happy ending so hard! Another aspect of the story that I really enjoyed was the magic system. It was unique and interesting with all of the various crystals and gems. I found myself liking Teo so much that I was annoyed that Estela didn't like him like I did. She frustrated me at times, but their story was enjoyable- mostly because of Teo.

If you are looking for a fantasy romance with an interesting magic system and featuring Giants and Trolls and other not as commonly used magical creatures, then To Steal a Bride might be good novel for you to check out.

Daughter of ‘the kings’ whore Estela has never known another life than that of a slave; full of punishment and hardship. Enduring all that, she fights for one thing only: the safety of her brother, Mikal.

When Mikal and Estela are chosen to tag along on a trade journey to the Enduar, Estela’s life will change forever. When everything seems to go awry, Estela finds herself separated from her brother and mated to the Enduar king, Ma’Teo. We can completely understand her reluctance to accept what is right in front of her, considering her past and everything she’s had to go through.

In hope of saving her brother, she makes a deal with Ma’teo. Her hand in marriage, for the life of Mikal. How will their story unfold? Will Mikal be safed? And will Estela learn to let go of her past?

Fall in love alongside Estela and Ma’Teo in this beautifully written story of hardship, and learning to trust again.

Wow! Can we just talk about how I was undeniably carried away to an enchanting realm? I'm so impressed with author Daniela A. Mera's capacity to meld the harmonious land of Enduvida and its societies harsh customs. The equal parts of beauty and brutal effortlessly joined together like a lover's hand.

Teo, the Troll King, is sure to steal the heart of any reader who dares to traverse the Enduar Mountains.

⚔️Touch her and you Die
⚔️Fated Mates
⚔️Who did this to you?

Glowing gems, crystals that sing, and a luminous land... Enduvida is my new favorite place! I'm eager with anticipation for the rest of The Entangled with the Enduvar series✨️

I received an ARC in exchange for my review. Many thanks to the author for this advanced copy.

This is a very slow burn romantasy. It was a little too much of a slow burn for my tastes, but overall I really enjoyed the story. The world building was done well. It isn't overly wordy or overly descriptive.

I love Estela. She is stubborn and fierce and I was rooting for her to give in and accept her mate bond. It was heartwarming watching Estela and Teo fall for each other as Estela became more accepting of the bond. I do wish there were more interactions between them where he explained the bond or the culture or other elements of his people. I do understand he was giving her the space she needed and as a reader, I appreciated that. He didn't force himself on her and let her come around on her own.

I became fully invested in the world of Enduvia, and fell in love with the characters and their relationships.

I am anxiously waiting for the sequel because I need to know what happens next.

To Steal a bride

AHHH. When i say you need to add this to your TBR, I absolutely mean it with my whole chest!
I got so attached to Estelas character and her development through out the whole book. Estela was a slave who was trying to survive with her half giant brother until they could escape, when estela and a few slaves land themselves under a mountain with the Enduars (trolls).
The troll king immediately recognizes Estela as his mate and makes it his mission to have her accept him and also to acclimate the humans to his kind, so that they can expand their society further.
Estela fights with everything she has, determined to leave and rescue her brother, until… she doesn’t fight her feelings anymore.

Tio (the troll king) is such a caring soul who only wants to protect his people, and the author perfectly captured his inner battles as a king balancing responsibilities. The way I was rooting for his and estelas relationship was STRONG. The world building was wonderful, and the character development (including the side characters! I’m looking at you Vann and firelocks) was perfect.

I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next book!
