Controlling her curse just might be the easiest thing about their relationship...
Acceptance of her destiny allowed Arachne to become one of the most sought-after weavers in Thebes. But her success has a cost. A curse so horrific, she weaves her fabrics in a form seen only in nightmares.
Her art allows an outlet and expresses love for a man she’s never met. When her monstrous form takes over her life, she learns of a way to manage the curse and attempts the impossible… to control her own life.
Arachne’s journey will take her to Athena’s temple, the Underworld, and into the arms of the God of Dreams. Self-discovery is only part of the couple’s journey, as they must navigate all aspects of forgiveness, creativity, and desire. Most of all they must find their truth in the web of lies they have each created. Falling in love was the easy part.
Web of Lies is the fourth book in the Goddesses In Love Series, a collection of mythology retellings in a shorter format.
Careers for D.A. Henneman have run the gamut between Customer Service and Floral Design, but creativity has always been at the core of everything she does. During a girl's weekend at an undisclosed location, an idea for a series about 4 women with Elemental Powers was born. Infused with Fantasy, Romance, and the occasional Werewolf, her stories take the reader on a magical journey where things aren't always as they seem.
2024 reads, #39. I had the fun experience this year of being a judge for the Prism Awards, celebrating the best in paranormal romance publishing, and this is one of the entries I ended up reading for that. Therefore I don’t think it would probably be ethically good for me to be actually sharing my thoughts about each book’s quality here publicly, but I can at least confirm that all of them were great (not surprising, given that this was a contest and we can therefore assume everyone will submit their best work). Frankly, I’m mostly logging this simply so that it will count towards my total number of books read in the 2024 Goodreads Reading Challenge, so that I don’t end up reading all summer long and then have nothing to show for it here afterwards.
