She’s Miss Popular, the head cheerleader, the rich girl who’s dating the quarterback. With her role as head of the school paper and her 4.0 GPA, she’s absolutely ready to just finish high school and get into her dream college.
And then there’s Sawyer. The criminal who’s been in and out of juvie, the brooding artist who loves nothing more than showing the world how good he is with his fists. If you make him mad, he won’t let you forget it.
And no one angers Sawyer more than the school’s pretty, little princess. He hates Holly with a fiery, never-ending passion. And her boyfriend too.
But Sawyer’s cousin, Brodie, suddenly comes to stay. It’s a little cramped in Sawyer’s trailer, but Sawyer would never say no to his favorite cousin. It doesn’t take long for Holly and Brodie to become close friends. Sawyer hates how Holly’s always around now, how his cousin doesn’t seem to get that Holly Sutton is the enemy . Holly stands for everything that Sawyer isn’t.
But soon Holly is everywhere. In his car. At his place. In his mind. In his dreams . And as much as he tries, this bad boy just can’t stop thinking about the good girl…

This was a solid read, just not 100% for me. The writing wasn’t bad, there were some instances of things being repeated within the same chapter, and some wrong words used, but the story flowed well.
I liked the fmc, Holly, but I would’ve liked a bit more backstory to her. I didn’t understand why she liked her cheater boyfriend, Carter. I didn’t understand 100% why she treated the H, Sawyer, the way she did either. It just needed a little more development on that front.
Sawyer starts out rough. He has a lot of trauma bc he’s abused by his dad, his mom left, and people at school call him Trailer Park Trash. He’s very brash and gets into fights all the time. He calls the fmc a bitch for a good 40% before they actually start to speak nicely to each other. But i at least understood him a bit more than the fmc. He could still have used a bit more development.
It’s weird bc the fmc’s boyfriend, Carter, is a total ass to the H, but it doesn’t really talk about how anyone else at school treats him. Carter is also super emotionally abusive to the fmc, but it’s never really explained why she’s ok with that when she seems to have been raised to acknowledge these things, or if there’s any long lasting effects on her.
The way her virginity is talked about in this book is nothing new, but it grossed me out all the same. She’s referred to as “untouched” by the H, and that makes her more intriguing to him. When they do have sex, he feels the barrier of her hymen. Personally, i hated it thx.
Meanwhile, of course he’s 18 and in high school and super experienced. No OW drama, but he talks about how he’s fucked a bunch of girls at a nightclub with a fake id. How those women are just faceless. He talks about how he fucked a girl at a party a few weeks before school started. Please, authors need to give this a rest. It’s 2023. Why do you write ultra experienced high school boys but the girls are virgins? It’s gross.
There were steamy scenes and they were well written. I hated the climax, her dad acted like such a jerk and it just didn’t work for me at all.
Epilogue only shows about a year in the future.
OM drama with her ex a little bit but nothing major, she breaks up with him about halfway through. He cheated on her and she finds out. It states love triangle at the start of the book, but it really didn’t read like that.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad read and i know others will enjoy this way more than me. There are certain things that i just can’t overlook, but it’s a quick read nonetheless.

I was looking for an enemies to lovers read, and the book didn't disappoint.
It's a typical high school romance between the good girl who has it all and the bad boy whose life is the total opposite.
I enjoyed seeing the characters reveal their true identities in the book. It was gradual and not forced. Sawyers was well depicted all throughout the entire book.
I would have loved more character development on Holly's side. I could understand the good girl, the thoughtful side of her, but couldn't see what she'd seen in Carter and how she was still with him after witnessing his crass comments so many times.
The fight at Holly's parents' house, when they decided to announce their relationship, hit home and was so hard for me to digest because I have been there in my teens and I had parents like Holly's dad. I wanted to punch the screen whenever he talked. The scene was really well set.
I'm giving 4 stars because there were some repetitions and repetitive thoughts. I enjoyed more Sawyers fantasies than the actual sex scenes, and I feel that some things were rushed. There could have been more drama with Carter, more drama with dad (after the big blow up, he calmed down pretty quickly and how his feelings towards Sawyers were so strong before, I found it a bit hard to understand how easily he just accepted him) and more character development for Holly and Carter as individuals and their relationship. I understand nobody's perfect, but I would have loved to read about that.
Thank you for recommending it, though. I got hooked and couldn't put it down.

I went into this book with an open mind, not knowing exactly what to expect and I came out completely captivated. From the very first chapter, I found myself swept into the world the author created. The story was not only beautifully written but emotionally immersive, pulling me deeper with every turn of the page.
Holly and Sawyer’s love story was tender, raw, and so delicately developed that I found myself fully invested in their journey. Watching their connection grow through quiet moments, unspoken tension, and shared vulnerability felt deeply authentic.
Sawyer, in particular, completely stole my heart. His emotional depth, loyalty, and quiet strength made him an unforgettable character. Every time he hurt, I felt it!
I also want to commend the author on the writing itself. The prose was smooth and accessible, making it an easy and enjoyable read, while still carrying emotional weight. It was one of those books that felt effortless to fall into yet packed a lasting emotional punch.
I genuinely can’t wait for book two. If it’s anything like the first, I know it will be just as touching, heartfelt, and memorable. ❤️
I read this one off the back of a few bad eggs, and I really enjoyed it, so I was thankful to learn that it wasn't just me becoming ultra picky or losing my ability to enjoy a read.
In saying this there were things that could have been written in a better way. For example, how was it that for so long the fmc did not have an inkling that her boyfriend was cheating, when it was always under her nose? And supposedly everyone knew it was happening except her and her best friend? I also couldn't understand how the mmc fought with her father and gave up on their relationship only to then brag to him about how he had f*%ked his daughter and enjoyed her pussy. And the fmc was ok with hearing him talk about her like this to her dad? I also would have liked to see mmc develop a little more, so that as a reader we can see him becoming more successful as an artist, not him just getting a few more jobs, but maybe him deciding to go onto college or something that really paves his way to success.
Overall a good read, with just a little fine tuning needed.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how Holly and Sawyer grew from enemies to lovers. Carter sucks. I will say that I felt way more connected to Sawyer than I did Holly. I felt like we learned so much about his life and feelings, whereas Hollys POVs felt very repetitive and didn’t touch on her home life or past much at all. I’m excited to read the next two books to see where Sawyer and Hollys story goes!
These two are so good together! Once FMC gets a peek at the decent guy underneath MMCs prickly exterior and accepts it, he’s encouraged to show her more and more. All he wants is to be good to get in every way he can, and I’m here for it 😊.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I actually like Facebook way more than I thought I would the only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because there were a lot of repetitive things being said again and again, but I like the story it was cute. It felt real the transition from the hate to like to love it felt genuine, not rushed.
Like a dessert this story had me feeling giddy and I loved reading the slow development of enemies to lover with such a sweet love and characters that are relatable
This was a beautiful story. I think it could have been shorter as there were many repetitive parts but the characters were great and the storyline good.
I really loved this story. I love when the FMC is the mean one, even though she really wasn't. I really liked Sawyer, he didn't deserve everything he got. New author for me.
