I got this book to understand the nuances of the game. It was geared more toward the player and not the fan, and thus beyond my needs.

Got this book when I was a kid. Found it years later because it was one of of the best instructional baseball books I've ever read. Even now, I love looking at the Defensive Strategy and Offensive Strategy chapters. It helps the casual fan understand the game, but is also helpful when an avid fan reviews it.

PS: I can't remember who was featured on the cover of the first book I had... might have been Robin Yount.
