Chronically a Vampire

Rate this book
Vampires are evil beings of the night, or are they? Follow Evelyn Morrow through her life living with chronic illnesses, as she makes a discovery that all the beings that she loves to read about aren’t just fictional at all. All the creatures that go bump in the night are actually out there. When Atticus Whitlock begins to come around, Evelyn’s aches and pains go away; she gets to feel like a normal 22-year-old again. She feels more alive than ever as if she can take on the whole world. She should feel scared, she should feel any other reaction, but the only feeling she has is love.
Atticus has spent the last 3 years feeling as if he doesn’t deserve love, doesn’t deserve happiness. Getting turned into a vampire was not on his bucket list, nor did he even know they existed. Until 3 years ago when something wild happened; he woke up a vampire and had to learn how to navigate the world in his new body, with his new life all on his own. As the years go on, he makes friends who look human but are much more than meets the eye. He grows his business with his new friends, becoming very successful. But even with all this money and his friends always by his side, he always feels lonely, like something is missing… That is until he meets Evelyn, and his world changes yet again.
Read the compelling love story of Evelyn Morrow and Atticus Whitlock. From where they began, to forever. Literally.

This book is about a girl that has lived her whole life chronically ill and uses fantasy books as an escape until she finds herself in the middle of a real life romantasy story. This is a sweet modern day vampire romance and even though I don’t have any health issues myself the FMC is still so relatable especially her love of vampires and things that go bump on the night. Even though I’m not a really big fan of books that take place in modern day. I really enjoyed this book and have already started reading the second one!

This book was so cute. Fast paced. Super cozy read. I absolutely adore their love story and everything is located in Virginia which I thought was cool since I live there.

Chronically a Vampire is the story every one of us with Chronic Illnesses have been waiting for! As someone who has lived with chronic illnesses my entire life, I can say Elvi Blómgren's Depiction of Chronic Illness is written with such emotion and realism that I feel seen and represented in a way rarely seen in literature. This Riveting vampire love story is so engrossing that you will not want to put it down. Elvi has a very elegant writing style that will leave you wanting more. I'll be waiting on bated breath for everything yet to come.

This is a wonderful story, especially for disabled people looking for representation in a main character, and especially, on top of that, for people with POTS. I do not have POTS but do have chronic disabilities and fell into this story head over heels. The story looks like it is going to be straight forward fluff, but the twist at the end took me by surprise and really took it over the top. I would give it five stars except that it could use some editing and beta reading, both in making sure things are in the correct tense and also that the dialogue is believable and the tension well spread throughout.

I loved this story. Evelyn has chronic illnesses and is struggling to do things that most people don't even think twice before doing. Atticus is struggling with the loneliness that comes with being a vampire. He has friends, but he needs something more. A mate perhaps? That's when he meets Evelyn and both of their lives began to change for the better.

No Spoilers for you. I did struggle with the dialogue written in italic cause my stupid dyslexic brain hates italic. But all and all this story was worth reading.

This book was so cute!!!!!!! Atticus made me smile all throughout the book with how sweet he is but when Evelyn was kidnapped by her dad and he freak out out, LOVED IT. I love the POTS representation and chronic pain, as someone who has chronic pain it was nice to see representation since not a lot of people know about it. Loved this book so much!!!!! I wish it just kept going I was sad when it ended.

This book was so real and raw. I appreciate that, after interviewing the author, I know more about her inspiration for the characters and the story. I think that made me love it that much more. Evie is able to escape through Atticus and his world and I loved that about it. Though a contemporary fantasy romance, it was balanced well between reality and magical.

I honestly could not put this book down! The main character was so cute, and sweet and I loved how pure she seemed! The main male character was also nothing but great! I definitely loved all the little twists, and truly can not wait for the second book! I need more!

so so good!

Such a good read. I loved how you got to see both Evelyn’s and Atticus’ post of view. I seriously had a hard time putting it down.
