Thousands of miles away, in the heart of Venice, a secret is exposed that will change the lives of the women of Martha's Vineyard forever. Jack Potter has been dead for nearly two years when Janine receives word from his lawyer, explaining that Jack's biological mother passed away in her home in Italy. She's left a will. With Alyssa and Maggie both pregnant, Janine sees this trip to Italy as a final family vacation before everything changes. But when they arrive, they learn that Teresa, Jack's mother, was a very unique and strange individual, who's created a sort of "scavenger hunt" through Venice for her remaining family members. If they "win" her game, they can have what she's left them in the will. At first, Teresa's game is a fun adventure, allowing them to meet family members and friends in the gorgeous Italian city. But soon, they find themselves consumed in old secrets -- and facing a traumatic event that happened many years ago, one that, had he known about it before his death, would have changed Jack's life. It certainly changes theirs. Dive into book twelve of The Katama Bay Series, a heartwarming journey of motherly and sisterly love, healing, and promise for better days, all on the island of Martha's Vineyard, with its gorgeous ocean views, its endless summer days, and its bubbly cast of islanders.

This final book in the Katama Bay Series provides a wonderful ending to the series. Summer Rush focuses on Janine, Maggie and Alyssa flying to Venice because their late father's mother, whom they have never known about, has left a will. What ensues is a rousing search to find clues to a sort of scavenger hunt to inherit what the enigmatic Teresa, Jack Potter's mother, has left. I love this sense of mystery and adventure in Katie Winters' books, and this one was splendid. Also included are betrayal, love stories for many of the characters, and the bond between two pregnant sisters. This is a definite must-read.

Lots is going on with the Remington-Potter-Grimson family. Allyssa and Maggie are glowing and pregnant. Janine gets a call that her ex husband’s mother died. Since Jack is dead, Allyssa and Maggie are the heirs. The trio sets of to Italy and is soon caught up in the mystery terms of the will, including a scavenger hunt. Lots of descriptions about the beautiful sights and delicious food of Italy. Grandma Nancy shows up with her new friend. As the year ends lots of couples look forward to major events in the new year. A fun read.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

Katie Winters has finished this series with a royal bang! Ohmigod…grab the tissues, get something to drink and be prepared for one helluva conclusion to the Katama Bay women’s stories. While I hate to say goodbye to these fantastic women and their families, Katie did a kick ass job of closure. The storyline was totally amazing; the characters were fantastic; the plot twists and turns were excellent as always; and the HEA covered the entire family. What an awesome job! Once again Katie Winters reels one in to visit with old friends and introduce new characters. The love, support, and forgiveness of these characters are nothing short if a miracle. The plots in the story are amazing! Great read. So sorry the series is ending.

This was such a fun book - I loved the story in Venice with Jannie and her girls. The "treasure hunt" definitely led them on a crazy path. And seeing Nancy really become herself and find another love was so special. I'm sad that this is the last book in this series. Would so love to see Alyssa and Nico and Megan and David's relationships play out and see what happens to all of the new babies in the future. But this was a lovely ending to a wonderful series.
