Fun story and excellent first book in the series! This had a nice ending but also left some unfinished business for the rest of the series! Nate is a great main character and there were a lot of really interesting side characters! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5!

Picked this book at random because I was in the mood for a western and am delighted that I did. A warming western with many of the expected tropes but well plotted, well rounded characters in a well written story. I enjoyed it so much that I have purchased the following two books in the series and may well try the other genres by the author.

This one should not be taken too seriously. It features a number of favourite Western conventions, but competently executed and a lot of fun. Written with almost youthful exuberance and passion for the genre. Enjoyed the sense of camaraderie as the protagonist makes friends along the way, learning new skills (notably gunfighting and cowboying).

4.25 stars ...

New author/series for me and it checked all the boxes. The quality of writing was particularly strong for this genre and that's important to me. Excellent first entry, laying the ground work for what I expect to be a super fun saga. 👍👍

Randomly found this on the Kindle store.
Shows signs of a developing writer in places, but overall the tropes are enjoyable and the plot is moreish.
A fun read.
