Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1966, classically trained in art from an early age, he completed his studies at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, had his first solo exhibition at the age of twenty five and by his early thirties enjoyed an international art career in London. Since 2002 he has been sharing his insights into the nature of Being, leading transformative programs worldwide. Kufayev’s debut book, Camatkāra: The Hidden Path, is a compelling exposition on life’s purpose based on a unique Tantric perspective and verified by the lifelong experience of an artist.

This book will be one I cherish for a long time and re-read when called. The truths it tells are articulated so beautifully, I was uplifted each time I engaged it. The text is so rich that I found I wanted to read just a paragraph or two at a time and savor them before adding more. Definitely recommend it if you have any interest in or exposure to Trika Shaivism or Vedic wisdom.
There are both paperback and limited edition hardcover versions available and I am personally quite glad I chose the latter. It's such a special book, I am happy to have the more durable version to enjoy over time.

An utterly compelling book and an object of beauty in its own right. The author (Igor Kufayev) achieves the extraordinary by revealing the unique insights of the Tantric path in lucid and concise prose, whilst firmly situating these revelations within the context of our daily lives. It offers nothing less than a full rehabilitation of the experience of being human and is one of those rare text that offers an energetic, as well as a scholarly, transmission of knowledge.
As someone with a budding artistic practice, I was particularly enthralled by the notion that creativity is inextricably bound up with the pursuit of self-realisation and that, far from being incidental to life, it instead sits at the core of our humanity.
Anyone interested in the confluence of spirituality, beauty, art, and wonder should absolutely read (and re-read) this wonderful book! A work to be savoured and one that I will personally be returning to for years to come.

When I encountered very dark days in my life, these moments surprisingly let me to a first understanding of peace, oneness, truth. And real beauty. When by just watching the clouds, listening to the wind making leaves dance on the cold grey pavements of the city - I understood what life is worth living for.
And still today, in this mixture of emotional pain and bliss… when I allow all this to happen - then arise true moments of being touched by something greater than myself. Moments of wonder. Often accompanied by creativity that flows through me. Experiences I can hardly put into words or even explain. And never have I found someone who could or would pic up this topic from a point of true embodied experience and wisdom… unless…
I found this book. "Camatkāra: The Hidden Path“ is a rare gem, an ode to life. At the same time I love to use it as a practical "workbook“, whenever I find myself in a state of (emotional) chaos - as the author reminds us, how such tumult acts as an (hidden) entryway into real beauty. Igor Kufayev brilliantly weaves together a nourishing and compelling compass of what it means to be human, of communion with the divine, ancient vedic knowledge, Trika Shaivism and his own personal experiences as an artist.
This book is a must-have for every seeker who wishes to truely live from the heart 🌹

This book has grown very dear to my heart.
The more I read it, the more layers open up, the more understanding enters.
Each passage an invitation to reflect one's essence and savour it simultaneously.
It speaks of beauty, artistry, human embodiment, divinity…but ultimately it speaks for itself.
Steeped in the perennial wisdom of Kashmir Shavism it's an enriching yet simple read for anyone on a path of (re)discovery.
The more I read it, the more layers open up, the more understanding enters.
