About the author

Benjamin Hyrum White was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He labored in the Colorado Denver North Mission and was employed at the MTC during college. Ben met his wife, Keenan, while they both were dancing with the International Folk Dance Ensemble at Brigham Young University. They each graduated from BYU with a degree in Family Science. Brother White is a seminary teacher and recently received his master’s degree in religious education from BYU, where he wrote the history of Preach My Gospel. Ben and Keenan reside in Utah Valley with their five children.

Before I started this book, I expected it to be somewhat like President Jeffrey R. Holland's great book, "Christ and the New Covenant" about how The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ leads its readers to faith in Him. It does do some of that, but this book takes a different perspective, and I like what Benjamin Hyrum White writes.

He discusses how there are four principal writers of the plates that Joseph Smith translated: Nephi, Jacob, Mormon, and Moroni. Each of these (as White documents) recounts having seen the Lord Jesus Christ and receiving His divine direction on what to write and include for our day. He answers such questions as "why is there so much detail about the wars and political intrigues" and also why there are NOT more clear points taught. (In some cases, these prophet-historians were directed to not reveal them for our day, most likely because it would make it unnecessary for us to exercise faith to believe.)

He then talks about how modern apostles of Jesus Christ have also had similar witnesses (and provides scriptural evidence that they are necessary to be the witnesses of Jesus Christ that they are required to be). Most don't discuss them, even amongst others of the Brethren of the Church, but a few have mentioned them without specific detail, and these are fascinating also. He relates these stories to fortify his testimony of both ancient and modern prophets, seers, and revelators.

I have loved The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ since I first read it many years ago (and have grown to love it more in the years since). This book has helped me love it even more and understand the men who wrote it - and why they included many of the things they did - even more than before, and that makes it very much worth reading.

Faith Building and Uplifting Insights to help you become closer to the Savior.

Wow the insights and examples that this book brings together. Giving you new a perspective to see what may have been missed.

It gives examples of good and bad people, showing how to combat the false teachings of the three major anti-Christ shown in the Book of Mormon. Giving insight in what Satan is doing to slowly remove Christ and good from society.

This will help build and strengthen your testimony in Christ, and increase your love and desire to have an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

As we seek help from Jesus Christ in our life and take counsel from Christ through reading The Book of Mormon and listen to our modern-day Prophets and church leaders burdens will be lightened and our hearts lifted.

It has helped lift me and I am sure it will help you too.

This book examines what the Book of Mormon Teaches about Christ. It includes quotes from religious leaders, educators and scholars of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It examines the authors of the Book of Mormon and their roles and promises. It also discusses the enemies of Christ, written about in the book, the war chapters and how they still lead you to Christ, and then ends with the crowning glory of Christ’s visit to the Americas and his teachings to those people. This book is informational and inspiring. If you want to gain a new love for the Book of Mormon and its teachings of Christ, this is a must read. It can also strengthen your love for Jesus Christ . and deepen an already existing relationship. Benjamin Hyrum White gives the reader a new and interesting view whilst reading The Book of Mormon. The author takes well know stories and points out phrases that the reader might easily overlook, but which with analysis have great meaning and can be applied to our everyday lives. He also uses situations from real life, together with quotes which uplift and inspire.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I received an advance copy of a book titled The Book of Mormon: A Powerful Connection to Jesus Christ. All the thoughts about this book are my own.

While reading the book, I enjoyed the way that the author split the Book of Mormon into twelve segments. Each chapter has more than enough content to ponder during the month. I have seen the Book of Mormon from a completely new angle since reading this book.The focus is on how to create a close connection with Christ.

I love how the author points out how present Jesus Christ is in the Book Of Mormon. That it is not just a record of the stories of ancient peoples, but of their experiences with Jesus Christ and His influence in and on their lives. Reading this book once again reminds me just how the Book of Mormon testifies of Christ

This book emphasizes how the Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, and applies the teachings to our day. How to remain faithful in the face of antichrists. How to better understand Christ's teachings at the Temple. Most importantly how to increase our faith in Christ.

This book takes us on tours through different parts of the Book of Mormon. We get to compare the good guys with the bad guys – their methods, tactics, words and actions. We are given new insights into the wars. We read the counsel of modern-day Prophets and church leaders, and we become more familiar with the words spoken by Christ. The book is well written and full of personal observations that keep it entertaining while still driving the message into the reader’s heart. Brother White’s book is a double blessing because the readers can become more focused on the Savior while at the same time becoming more familiar with the wonderful Book of Mormon.
