I love a good strong read especially when it's a mystery of any kind to figure out. This story opens with a body and an investigation, and then it jumps to Carly. She is a second-time mom totally worried about her life and her size to the point that at first I was worried she was obsessed. Her husband, Fletcher, is a little older than her, and he's a good dad and, at least to her, attractive. The kids, Eaden and Sonny are addictive to me right from the start. Breakfast and sunshine pancakes feel tangible and that's just the start. Even so, you can see the foreshadowing, and feel this undercurrent of suspense. While I felt like some things were overly narrated or described, I really liked the twists and seeing if I had guessed things correctly or not. Sometimes it was hard to know if I preferred Carly, or Polly, or if they were all so dramatic that it didn't matter. Even with that, I found myself sucked into the story and a few chapters in had adjusted to the writing style and found myself reading late into the night. I would read another book by this author.
