Not my cup of tea!
This was another newbie for me. I'm into BBW love stories so the title and synopsis intrigued me. This one wasn't quite my cup of tea though. The way Tyson "Trench" came out of prison with his ego and attitude towards August was horrible. In my opinion, he was controlling and it was mind-boggling as to why. I think that their love could have been better portrayed as him being a stand-up guy. Although I'm a sucker for a BBW story this one wasn't for me but someone else may enjoy it.

3.5 ⭐️ I wish the ending of this story was better!
29 year old Tyson “Trench” runs across 23 year old August again after serving 13 years in prison. Tyson felt the need to protect August & in doing that they both began to fall in love with one another!
For me, Tyson was really too back and forth! I understand it’s hard to trust after having dealt with something as traumatic as incarceration, but he was doing too much as it pertained to August. She did have to option the whether to deal with it or move on & she chose her path.! Either way, they went through a lot being together. I loved Draco & Talea’s relationship as well. Although Marcus was a little on the mentally disturbed side, I felt bad for how things turned out for him!
I can say in the end, it was unclear if they were going to continue to be together because of the way that it ended.! Nonetheless, the story was decent.!

Grieving is deep
This was different and the love and bond between the 4 main character comes from growing grieving and guns...I. so many words. We gets friends loss and alot of street violence but we get love and healing too.

Found Love In The Trenches!!
August was in love with Trench early since her teenage years. All she did is work, hang out with Talea and occasionally Marcus who jealous of Trench when he came home. Trench was trying to stack his money. Talea needs to do something with her life. Her life can't revolve around Draco. Rucci couldn't do the bud with Trench, but she wasn't his girl anyway. She thought she was really something when she tried to throw August under the bus, but she know about their beef. Rucci thought by telling Trench Felony is plotting to kill August was going to get her back in his good graces she is sadly mistaken. Trench was already thinking the worst about August, I mean she didn't even get to explain herself. She couldn't get rid of their baby. Talea wouldn't take her, Marcus kept questioning her and kept calling the police on him. Marcus is on some obsession fatal attraction ish, no wonder her daddy didn't let go into the house. Felony thought August was texting him. They both shot each other but only Trench survived and he better because he promised August he wasn't going to leave. And her mama is still on drugs real bad.

This definitely had that hood thing going on but I wouldn't have it any other way. August was definitely green but that took nothing away from her. She didn't hang out just went to work and home. She had her moments when I was like ohh August but I still loved her though. Tyson wasn't trying to come up off her but had his woes to about love and how he believed it should be. He protected her for sure and wasn't letting anyone bring harm to her. Now I felt like Marcus was crazy for real especially when August couldn't go in his room.. red flag!! Everyone needs that friend like Talea oh and Draco. Loved the dynamic of these characters and the loyalty showed.

Get Your Girl!
Tyson got on my nerves at times for being so overbearing. How your first day out and you're already trying to run somebody? I knew Rucci thought holding Tyson down would give her hopes of him choosing her, but naaaa. I knew Felony was on some BS because he already knew who August was. Marcus mom was wrong for not getting her son some help. August may have been slow at times, but I'm glad she got her man.
And damnit! I was ready for everyone to move out of grandma, Auntie and Momma house😂

Good Story but I want more
Great story. I loved it but sheesh I couldn’t get no epilogue 😩. Trench was getting on my nerves and I’m glad Draco knocked some sense into him cause how she was gonna know about the beef. Rucci was good for something after all and I loved Chanol sis was a realist with no hate in her blood. I wanted to slap Trench when he asked about being the daddy smh. Marcus was weird okay I knew it was something up when she couldn’t come in his room, but I thought he was like Helga from Hey Arnold not a 🤮.

August was a homebody. She literally worked and came home. Is she wasn’t with her best “ friends” she was at home. Trench was fresh out after being prison since he 16.
The flow of the book was really good. Trench was a little disappointing throughout some of the book. At times he wanted his cake and eat it too. The problem I had with him is he expected August to trust him even though he was showing her something else. I’m glad everything worked out for them. Overall a good book.

Hood Drama
Whewwweee, this book was good!!!...The drama and action in this book was definitely good!!!...I can not wait for part 2!!!...Mental illness is real and as parents we have to do our best to get our children help and not act like it's normal!!!...I'm glad Tyson survived, but now he's going to have to answer about the gunshot wounds and the weapon in his car along with a dead man's phone on him!!!...August was definitely a young lady with tunnel vision but a big ole heart and protective spirit!!!...

Finally a digestible BBW story, if you know you know.
It ended so suddenly like I was shocked.
It was a joy reading the build up between Trench and August. I loved it. I wished their back and forth would have lasted longer before they got together but it was still cute nonetheless.
I needed Talea to have something going on with her life.
Book feels unfinished.

Truly a great short love story wish it were a bit longer, would have like to know if Trench and August got that beach home and their best friends how were they doing, what happened to Marcus while getting treatment, so many questions unanswered but overall great story maybe there will be a spin in the future

Man!! This waa whirlwind. I definitely didn't see the issue with Marcus coming. Poor August she really didn't have a clue. I am glad she and Trench really connected. Wish there was more to story like what happened to Lyn and Rucci afterward Felony gets dealt with? Spinoff we need to know about the baby!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. I love how Tyson was so protective over August due to her father being the big homie. Then they fell in love and tried to fight it. You have a new fan Barbie Amor and I will be checking out your other work

A must read!
A lovedtory from the trenches. You'll never go wrong. Front the throngs of a cold and heartless prison. Trench finds himself free again. This is definitely a read filled with survival, beyrayal, gunplay and some mystery. You want be disappointed.

Tyson/Trench and August,talk about a summer love, whew! I loved them though! Talea and Draco were good together as well. I knew Marcus wasn't wrapped too tight and Felony had something up his sleeve! I loved the ending and hope to see mode from Tyson/Trench and August!

August 19, 2023I enjoyed this read. I liked that Trench avenged Duke’s killers! He was very loyal! Trench took on the protective role of August! Love happened and they blended well together! I can’t believe Marcus turned out to be a psycho! I loved all the characters and their personalities!
