Maggie is trying to keep the peace in the family due to Aunt Loretta's antics and immerses herself in a job for Delveccio and still trying to figure out who wants to kill Griswold. Some dangerous threats has her working with Patrick and Nat and her pet menagerie. Zeke has some devastating news and Herschel returns to the compound. A fun, quick, emotional adventure

YAS!! I really enjoyed this one!

I so love the life and times of Maggie Lee and her menagerie of animal friends. It’ll teach you all about loyalty and the importance of friends and family.

Maggie is a hitwoman for the mobster, Delveccio, but that isn’t her only job. Nope. Maggie wears many hats and has many self-assigned and forcibly assigned duties. She also works for the pantsuit wearing mysterious Ms. Whitehat. Whitehat is a woman who knows everything that is going on with everyone in her town and she’s got her ninjas backing her (The ninjas also sometimes back Maggie, but that’s a different story in previous Hitwoman books).

More about Maggie - she’s ballsy and snickers at Delveccio while others around her cower to the mobster boss. She isn’t afraid to ask him questions or tell him no and she’s the only one who can get away with it without getting capped. He usually assigns her something dangerous that will likely get her killed if she isn’t careful… Like if she’s alone - which she never is - because she always has God, DeeDee, and or Piss accompanying her.

You are now asking who DeeDee is? Ya, we know who God is and what Piss is, but how does Piss fit into saving Maggie? Haha. God (short for Godzilla) is Maggie’s anole lizard, DeeDee (shortened from Doomsday) is her Doberman, and Piss (a name the vet where she came from before Maggie got her called her. We still don’t know what Piss’ real name is and I really wish we did!) is her one eyed Southern cat. Now you’re really confused?

Well, here’s the coolest part of the Hitwoman book series - Maggie understands animals. She does! She talks to them, but get this - they talk to her and she knows what they’re saying! And they are extremely loyal to her. They help her get justice and always have her back. She does the same for them, too. God is with Maggie all.the.time. He spends more time with her than any of the animals. He is her voice of reason and helps her figure puzzles out when she’s on an assignment. He’s very smart. Piss is a smart and resourceful cat that acts as Maggie’s lookout and sometimes acts as a bodyguard. She’s got claws and a hiss you want to stay away from. And DeeDee is a sweetheart with a ferocious growl who is blind and determined to protect Maggie and her friends at any cost.

In this read Delveccio gives Maggie the assignment of locating his ring that was sold in a pawn shop and shouldn’t have been. Then there’s the message board that needs a decoder to decipher what needs to be done. There’s bombs, a password, possible betrayal, an abduction, a dance, a too loud song on repeat that is making everyone on the farm crazy and scaring Twitch the rabbit, a court hearing, and a number 5… or is it an S?

Lots going on with Maggie which is par for the course in her life. If Maggie could just pull the plug on the loudness in her world like she did to the disc player, that’d be great, thank you very much! But Maggie’s world never lacks excitement and I don’t think she’d have it any other way.

Maggie’s next misadventure in Book 41 is “The Hitwoman Gets Caught” in which she finds herself taken captive in a bank robbery! I can never get enough of the dedicated woman that communicates with animals that act as backup to her shady goings on! Book 41’s release date is January 18, 2024.

While I wait for that book’s release, I’ll be reading other books. My next one is “The Ghost and the Twins (Haunting Danielle Book 33)”. The Haunting Danielle series is excellent. Walt Marlow was introduced in Book 1, I believe. He was the resident ghost in Danielle’s newly purchased home. The different books always have something original going on. What I mean is that Bobbi Holmes had an amazing mind and she creates stories I’ve never read about in other book series. They’re so cool. I was hooked from book 1 “The Ghost of Marlow House”.

Flash Mob and the Mob

Once again Maggie Lee and beloved pets are instrumental in saving lives. Take an impossible situation, Maggie, pets, and assorted friends and mix well. Stand back and watch the choreography as humans and animals help each other.
This fantastic series keeps getting better and better as witnessed by this 40th book of the series. Secrets to success include Maggie's ability to talk to and understand animals, unwavering trust in those animals, and fast thinking. Of course great characters, interesting plot, and unpredictability are critical as well. Already sprinkled with humor, just provide uninterrupted time for a fabulous reading experience. It's a series that keeps on getting better!

LOVED this book! Another winner in the series. Maggie has continued to mature and somehow, despite her many questionable choices, continues to be the support for her family and the glue that holds them together. In this novel, her family is in jeopardy, while she continues her side job for a mob boss. Add in Loretta's crazy idea for a flash mob, and this story is fun, funny, and engaging.

If you are a fan of the genre, you will love this book. While it's part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, they're so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

JB Lynn’s 40th book Hit Woman and the Flash Mob is hilarious. All the usual characters are involved even Susan gets into the mob scene. These books are funny and Maggie and Godzilla (her lizard who goes with her everywhere) are great partners. Maggie has the ability to talk to the animals so she uses them as her assistants when investigating. Every book is appealing and fun to read. Start with the first book so you get an understanding of how the stories evolve. I love these and have read every book published by JB Lynn. All are worth the time spent. Check out all of her books and give yourself a treat. Her newest series, Kiki Long Mysteries is terrific.

Good book, awful editing

I love this series, I have read them all. Every book has had some type of grammatical error. This book is by far the worst. Words missing, parts of sentences missing, a whole sentence missing. I would say laughable, but it isn’t. Please take time for editing! My star rating would have been higher if words and sentences were not missing. That being said, I liked this book as much as I liked the others. I have already pre-ordered the next book, I hope the editing is better!

Great Story

I’m a fan. I’ve read ever hitwoman book. This one was by far the best in the series. The way she told her story was amazing as she had me wondering who was the evil person up to the end. I have only one complaint, please get yourself a proofreader. There are too many mistakes in this one. Mistakes such as not finishing a sentence or writing a sentence that doesn’t make sense. I know you can do it. Thanks for the good read.

Another hit!!

Just keep these books coming! Love, love, love this series. Maggie Lee, her furry friends, zany family, and friends lead to grand adventures. I love the plots. The twits and turns Ms. Lynn infuses her storylines with. She tosses in a bit of humor and even unexpected departures and losses. This series will not disappoint!

seriously funny

This was humorous at times and well thought out by the author. I mean we have two different people working on the same thing. I feel bad about Maggie and the redhead because she doesn’t really know whose side he is really on. I like Nat though. The pets are really something and I’m glad she has them. I hope this series really carries on.

Hooray!

I love this series. It would be so cool to be able to talk to animals! Maggie Lee's life hasn't been a bed of roses, but somehow she manages to come out on top. Her animals and her crazy family are the highlights of the book. Even though this is book 40, I still eagerly await the next book.

I'm not sure I can handle Susan and Maggie getting along

Another fun plot, further character development (who knew there were depths left to plumb?) and much needed entertainment. These books make me happy. I ask for nothing more.

Great! Great! Great!

I love that we got more Benny in this book, and who knew how sentimental God could be. Nat? Are we beginning to see a fledgling romance here? I hope so. Maggie deserves someone who loves her that she can be herself around.

Book 40 and I still love them all. Dee Dee and Piss are my favorites. If you love animals these books are for you the animals are main characters in all the books. There leader Maggie has a crazy family she would do anything for.

Spoiler alert

Without Gino the character interaction is flat. Usually, I roll with character changes, but this one is a big mistake. Hopefully the author can figure out some plot twists to rectify her error.

Errors galore!

I LOVE this series but idk what has been happening to the editing of the last few books. There are spelling errors and structure errors- and wrong words used entirely. Whomever is editing these needs to do a better job before publishing.

Yes I enjoyed this one and the entire series. Fun reads, that with a little imagination, have been very entertaining always looking around the next corner to see what will happens next. MC remains very likable along with all the misfits around her.
