Computers and Education: Computers Assisted Learning

Rate this book
The special issue of the journal which is associated with the biennial CAL conference is always a somewhat eclectic affair because it seeks to represent the range of issues, concerns and interests of the whole conference. This is not to say that the issue is a collection of papers without there are significant identifiable themes connecting the 17 papers presented here. The conference theme was "Superhighways, Super CAL, Super Learning?".

The themes represented at the CAL97 conference both implicitly and explicitly recognise the tensions brought about by the human's slowness to adapt and the technologies' seeming inability to stand still and provide a stable platform from which considered decision making can take place.
