Maravilhoso!

I first read these books in my late teens and early twenties and absolutely loved them, unfortunately being 30 years older either my tastes have matured or they havent really stood the test of time. Having a compilation like this means you realise how similar all of the stories are and by the time you get to the last one it seems identical to all of the others.
That being said I still absolutely love some of the characters, Druss will always hold a special place in my heart as will Tanaka Khan and I wish someone in Hollywood would realise how good a film Druss the Legend would make with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Druss.

A great grouping of several great novels. I will write a more detailed review of each of the books on that book's page.

For the record, the books in this omnibus are:
Legend
The King Beyond the Gate
Quest for Lost Heroes

Great short introduction by Gemmell. A real insight into the begining of his writing career.

And a very nice addition to my collection aswell!

Stirring military fantasy stories. Maybe too much of a reliance on "beleaguered defenders saved at the last minute" plots, but engaging nonetheless.
