Mark Robson was born in Essex in 1966 and raised, for the most part, in Camarthen, West Wales. In 1982 he gained a scholarship to join the Royal Air Force as a pilot and has worked for them ever since. He successfully self-published the four book series, The Darkweaver Legacy, the first book of which was largely written during tours of duty in the Falkland Islands. He now lives in Northamptonshire with his family.
This book was probably the best in the series. It was awesome throughout the whole thing, action packed, dramatic and suspenseful, and even had long awaited character development from the four main characters. I loved Elian and Pell in this one. However, rather like Pell, I do not approve of Jack killing Segun with his rifle, Pell should've been the one to kill Segun. But this book did have quite a big flaw. The ending. While the first part of the ending was great, Nolita and Firestorm making the decision to sacrifice themselves instead of Elian and Aurora. Even just what was supposed to be the supposed sacrifice of Elian and Aurora, that is quite the plot twist, and then even more so with Nolita and Firestorm doing it instead. And then the Oracle was reborn, stopping the fighting and sending the Night dragons back to their enclave. I just didn't like the final chapter, the last part of the ending. It just kind of felt rushed, almost like the book was in a hurry to finish. Maybe we could've got one more chapter, like with Elian and Aurora as they start their journey to the dawn dragon enclave, Kira and Fang as they start their journey to the dusk dragon enclave, and Pell and Shadow as they return to the night dragon enclave no longer outlaws and begin their new life. It just feels like it ended a little abruptly, but then I suppose, this is a book for a slightly younger audience. However, that last part about the "joining" I don't think that was necessary. I really don't think readers cared that much about that.
Overall 9/10! An awesome book, great detail, plot, characters, action, and who doesn't want a war with dragons. Just a bit of a rushed ending was he only flaw. A really great book and a great series for young readers to really start reading.

Dragon Orb is a lovable fantasy adventure series. I read the entire series in my late teenage years, it is unforgettable. All protagonists, including the dragons, are just lovable. I highly recommend this series.
This was my favorite of the series. I teared up twice. Once during the exchange between the dragon, Blaze, and Elian concerning the last egg. (Shooting for no spoilers here) and at the end. The great sacrifice which I did not see coming. I loved the tie in of World War I throughout the series and the way it was all wrapped up in this last book of the series. I loved this book.
I really liked this book; and that is a rare thing these days. It may be aimed at children, but the story is very well executed. It's the forth in the series, and I haven't read the previous four (must fix that mistake) and it still makes a complete, understandable stand-alone story. It is both light reading, and epic at the same time. It's one of those truly rare books that do dragons and dragon riders justice, and don't use them like tired tropes. The character' stories weave strong emotions around the dragon-rider bond that would make a Pern fan happy, while giving the dragons more autonomy and character, which is always good. This is a story where protagonists take turn, I'm guessing one character per book, with this one being the final one. It's a good idea to read them in order. Still, it's a series worth placing high on your "to-read" list. Not since "Her Majesty's dragon" by Naomi Novak have i been moved so emotionally by a dragon/dragon rider story. I've gotten the previous three already and can't recommend this one high enough!
Why is it always the first and last books of a series that quicken my heart-rate? I totally cried when my favourite character jumped into the well instead of Elian. Elian is such a scaredy-cat! Even Nolita can do that (which she did)! I LOVED THE STORY. that's all.
