Jessica Sims lives in Texas. She hates writing a bio, so something cool will undoubtedly go here later when she actually thinks of something interesting to write. She has some cats, but what writer doesn’t? She plays video games and confesses to reading comic books. And she likes writing, but that one was pretty obvious.

Vixen is all about Miko who happens to be a kitsune that has chosen to live a solitary life far away from people. Miko has little tolerance for people, especially men because of the heartbreak it causes. She's spent most of her life trying to fight her true nature which has pushed her to the outskirts of society and her family. Being a horny woman has it's down sides.

Miko is a pretty cookie-cutter character for these types of stories. She doesnt want a man but she does, and its a bit of a back and forth for awhile. Miko is a pretty strong lady though and doesn't seem to want to be weak. She has to take charge and show she's the one callin the shots. Overall, I liked her even though I think she needed some therapy.

The two men that Miko takes an interest in are actually pretty cool. I would have liked a lot more from them and less from Miko, they helped round out the story more. Sam and Jeremiah are best friends but polar opposites not only in personality but in appearance which catches Mikos attention.

This is a super quick read with a lot of sexual tension and such running through the story. The novella itself really is focused more on these three hooking up with the "story" part taking a backseat and resolves quickly. I was happy with the ending, it made sense and didn't involve any outrageous or uncharacteristic moves which really made it seem like a solid conclusion.

18+ this is a m/f/m menage with sex scenes and themes

I didn’t like this one as much as the others. And its not because its a polyamourous relationship. I just didn’t think the progression of feelings from thought to action went very smoothly. We knew what they felt but it wasn’t articulated very well. I think this one is proably my least favorite one out of the series.

I didn’t understand her internal conflict. She didn’t want to be attracted to more than one person, but she was. And she had a real hard time dealing with that. I guess I just didn’t understand why it was such a big deal. Sure, she didn’t want to be like her mom, but really, whats the big deal? So you like variety, who doesn’t? It just didn’t seem like a big enough issue to ficus on for so long in this story.

And the reasoning behind their presence was seemed weak as well. The climax was a bit too easy and too quickly resolved. But it didn’t keep me from reading the rest. These a re a bit all over the place honestly. A reason I like them.

Basically if a were-fox is around males (of any kind) they have needs that need to be meant… in the bedroom. But if they aren’t around males those needs stay in check. So Miko lives a life of solitude, something that goes against her were-fox nature.

Miko’s overprotective mother decides that she needs a little help and sends two sexy feline shifters to her front door to be her bodyguards. Miko is confused at first until she finds out that local hunters are hunting foxes (nature and were).

Sam and Jeremiah, Miko’s two feline bodyguards are best friends and they are use to sharing things. And if Miko is up for it, she will be the next thing they share.

Compared to other stories I've read with multiple partners this one was very tame. It was an okay story. She was pretty annoying with her assertion to "do as she pleased" no matter how stupid it was.

Vixen

I didn't find the characters relatable. In fact I thought they were silly. I usually like this author's work. But this novella was disappointing.

Vixen was a short, entertaining read and I liked the characters. We meet a reluctant, and secluded were-fox who 'acquires' two cat-shifter bodyguards (courtesy of her mother) when an English fellow starts an illegal fox hunting club in the area. Needless to say, Miko, the were-fox has mixed feelings about this. I enjoyed the little that we got to know about Miko, Jeremiah and Sam. This story would've been even better if it had been longer and we really got a chance to know them, and see them get to know each other and interact more. The pacing was a bit rushed (for example, Miko deciding to lead the hunters into a trap after what, a day, maybe two?) and I really, really wish it had been longer so that we could get to know them, and see a real relationship develop. That being said I am glad it ended with a HFN with a possibility of a HEA and not an "I love you forever" kind of thing, which would've been completely unbelievable. It leaves us with the possibility of a HEA for our three leads, which was suitable for this short story.

Vixen is a very short story set in the Midnight Liaisons world. It was originally published in the anthology Wild & Steamy.

Miko, being uncomfortable with the more promiscuous side of being a were-fox, has chosen to live an isolated lifestyle. When her life is put in danger by a group of fox hunters, her mother hires two very capable shifters to keep her safe. When Sam and Jeremiah show up, the last thing Miko wants is anyone invading her space, unfortunately, her fox side has other ideas about the two men. It wants both of the men, and not just for guard duty.

This is one of my favorite series. Vixen is a great addition. If you have not read the others, I would highly recommend them. They are lots of fun.

3.5 Stars!

I think this book deserves a 3.5 stars as a short. It's well-written both grammar wise and plot wise, though the resolution was a little too easy and convenient. But since this book is meant to be a short, it works out. I definitely would've loved to see the story play out more. The characters are for the most part likable (our main character Miko being unbelievably stubborn occasionally) and the erotica starts out as a tease and ends with a steamy bang.

Basically, if you love paranormal erotic threesome shorts, you're guaranteed to like (if not enjoy) this story.

A quick, easy read. Not much thinking required, but still quite enjoyable. One thing I will say is that I found the description a little different from the story. Though she does make it clear that she doesn't want to give in to her fox nature and be like her mother and so many others, she really doesn't fight it much. Or at all really. Don't get me wrong, that didn't affect my enjoyment of it all, just happened to notice it. The girl was sweet and the guys were hot. I'm looking forward to the rest of the short stories thrown between the series novels.

A female foxshifter acquires two sexy catshifer body guards when a fox hunting club comes to town. I originally read this in Wild&Steamy and this was the steamiest of the the three stories in that anthology - FYI - foxshifter females are polyandrous and this one decides that two polar opposite males are just the right number to scratch her itch.

This was a fun, quick read. I loved the relationship that develops and the freedom that comes from it. It as a little light on emotional depth and action compared to some of her pervious books that I've read, but it is spot on for a novella. If you are short on time but want to read a sweet sexy story then this is the one for you!

When they were introduced in Must Love Fangs also written by Jessica Sims; I was curious and when I read the anthology I knew I had to Vixen and I loved every minute of it. I really enjoy Jessica's writing style in the Midnight Liaisons series and can't wait to read more of her work.

Vixen

Milo want to be normal, but is a were-fox. Were-foxes, normally likes lots of lovers to satisfy them. She finally found 2 of the most gorgeous, sexy men that don't mind a three-dimensional. Perfectly sexy book.

This was alright. I'm not the biggest fan of MFM books, but it worked contextually here. I just wish it had been longer; there wasn't enough time to really get to know the guys or get a good feel on what their relationship is going to be like beyond the sex.
