Are we alone? It was only a matter of time before the truth was revealed....
Commander David Bryce is scheduled to lead a routine re-supply run for the Orbital Development Group (ORB) to the fledgling colony on Mars. Without warning, he’s taken away by government agents and told the mission parameters have changed.
They’ve discovered something. And it’s drifting closer to Earth.
Atlas Donovan tirelessly hunts for an artifact, and tracks it to Lake Como, Italy. After the recent news from ORB, Atlas is more drawn to the trail than ever. He continues his search, determined to uncover the significance of the strange markings, and more importantly, where the artifacts really came from.
As both Atlas and David draw near to their objectives, they realize a secret organization is working against them; a clandestine force with so much influence, they seem impossible to oppose.

There are three books in this series and they are all exciting and well worth reading.
Book 1.
All of Jasper T Scott's books have kept me wanting to read more. They are always interesting and full of adventure.
An alien craft is discovered floating in space and the team of astronauts who were going to resupply Mars Base are sent to investigate. Among them is a substitute astronaut who has a private agenda.
Also, there is the story of a man's search for alien artifacts on earth, but someone is trying to kill him to stop him. The two stories are linked.
This book is full of hazards, entertainment, is fast paced and enjoyable.
This story has a "wow" ending which leaves it open for the next book.
Book 2.
The Dark Team are trying to save the Earth from the alien invaders, the Stalkers and Crawlers.
Unfortunately, the insidious infection has started caused by the Crawlers. They are like spiders the size a crab. When people are bitten, they are turned into puppets of the Stalkers.
David Bryce is sent to Alaska with his family. He manages to get hold of an alien device which hopefully can help the Dark Team win the war.
Atlas Donovan has been looking for a piece of equipment named the Signal which is hidden somewhere on Earth. He must find it before the aliens do or it will be used by them to call all their ships to the Earth and the Earth will be overrun.
Dark Three, Lennon Baxter, finds out that the love of her life is alive. She thought he had been killed in an operation many years ago. Lennon was on the mission in space with Captain David Bryce who was the captain of the spaceship supposedly going to Mars, but in fact sent to intercept the alien spaceship drifting in space. She failed to blow up the spaceship in space, so when it crashed on Earth Crawlers, Stalkers and another group of aliens escaped. She is determined not to fail with this mission to eradicate Earth of the aliens and recover the Signal.
Carter and the alien Grazer were an interesting combination.
This is a fast-paced story, action packed and full of excitement.
Book 3.
This is the third book of the series From Beyond. It is full of action both on earth and in space. My face was glued to the book. I kept wanting to know what was going to happen to the different characters.
An alien spaceship suddenly appears out at the edge of the solar system, and floats inward, and this is kept secret from the populace that has reached the level of sophistication that they're colonizing Mars. Yeah, right. Well, we send a Mars supply ship to check it out, and they invade finding a compilation of weird residents that are either extremely numerous, or scary big. None of them are passive, but we escape losing only half the crew. Beyond belief. The ship gets to invade earth, scattering its inhabitants around the globe. We then find out that those little ones that look like spiders can create zombies much like in Heinlein's Puppet Masters, and they can reproduce at a horrendous rate. Luckily, they're kind of stupid, and have to follow the instructions of "fat momma." Nevertheless we've got the 9 foot giants to contend with, and they're a problem. Amazingly, we've got a secret weapon in the form of a Quisling. From him we are able to develop ray guns, FTL drives, and advanced spaceships with sophisticated weapons. Now that's incredible!! So what do we do? We attack a second ship that also makes landfall, and invade it also. Somehow we lose all the professional combatants (except the love interest), while everyone else survives. I was beginning to think this was going to be a multi book interminable war, but luckily, the author ends the third book with a nice resolution. Of course we are also left with the several times the enemy's final taunt is "we've already won," and there are a few minor loose ends that could blow up. Nevertheless, the books have their good points as tension bills during various missions which are extreme, but as initially stated, this book really stretches credibility to the breaking point.
I just finished reading From Beyond. At the beginning of the story, it gave you a bit of the background and daily lives on all the main characters. I do like David and Lennon who are good characters with a lot of relatable characteristics and depth. I can’t wait to see what happens between Lennon and Rutger in the future. Atlas is kind of a strange character, almost like a James Bond wannabe only with artifacts instead of espionage. He grows on you, but he is dangerous to have as a friend. Dark Leader is very mysterious and intriguing and it would be interesting to see how he will fit into what is going to happen in future stories. The entire crew of the ship Beyond were good characters. I am not too fond of the Dr. But you can’t have all the characters be likeable. There have to be a good mix like there are with regular people that do things you don't care for. Yes, there are some deaths in the story.
Spiders are the template for the aliens. They are just as creepy and deadly as you can imagine.
The story is entertaining and easy to read. It does end on a cliffhanger and you will want to know what is going to happen next through the whole series. I know I did. I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this story.
Jasper T Scott and Nathan Hystad have created a wonderful trio of books to read. I like to get immersed in my books and if you are so immersed that you feel you are there, experiencing it all live, then you're the lucky ones. ORB has sent a crew out early, under the cover story of Mars needing some supplies quickly. But the real problem is that something is spotted in space and it's best to get a handle on things. But they weren't prepared for what happens next. The fighting takes place in spaceships, in space, on Earth and under Earth. So many lives are changed by all that happens, but I won't say more here. Just sit back, relax and be prepared for what's to come. Jasper T Scott and Nathan Hystad, you guys make a wonderful writing collaboration and I hope you continue to do so for a long time.
The beginning of the first book seemed to be a bit of a slog as the author set the stage and introduced the characters. Very glad I stuck with it. Taking time to understand the events being experienced by the characters from their perspectives went a long way toward connecting with the main characters as “real” people. Getting to know realistic characters well went a long way towards enhancing the intrigue and anticipation of the rest of the three book series. After establishing the settings, situations, and developing connections with characters, it’s pretty much all a wild, fast, ride through a series of books that are hard to put down until the very last page. Highly recommended!
I read each of these three books when released and it's a very entertaining alien invasion series from two great authors, Nathan Hystad and Jasper T. Scott.
A perfect balance of character development, unique aliens and multiple storylines.
Fast paced, and a bit of a scary story that takes place in the near future. A unique take on first contact.
Never a dull moment would be an understatement, yet the character development is quite good even with this large cast.
Highly recommended, and a great price now for the entire set.
I enjoyed this series with its slow yet compelling start as I got to know the characters and try to figure out what is going on and make guesses to what was coming. Then the fun really began. Full of fun characters, suspense and then build up to everything and trying to guess what comes next. Surprises and question lead the story as things get wild. And then their is the conspiracy feel to it that made me think and wonder as I was entertained and rooting for the main characters as they piece it all together. And cannot forget the alien connection. Just a fun compelling read.
I almost never award 5 stars to any book. In fact, I've only ever done so a handful of times in my long life (I'm 78). However, co - authored by a couple of writers that I do like, I felt that this series had everything I could ask for. I found myself reading it almost continuously, apart from breaks for meals, toilet, sleep and medical appointments. What can I say other than CONGRATULATIONS gentlemen, you've surpassed my expectations! May you write many more like this.
Loved all the characters, the concept, the futuristic weapons, propulsion systems and aliens. Philosophical chatter re being apart from loved ones was possibly a bit too much .. having said that, I enjoyed the comradery and relationships within the 'darks'
Another fantastic read from start to finish. Great action, believable science and of course aliens that are down right nasty with a few that have admirable ideals if somewhat questionable actions. Another very talented key tapper ummmm quill pusher. Thanks and here’s to more from you.
This is a series that will start out being pretty close to life as we would expect in the near future, then blasts off at Mach 2 in a ride of first contact, secrets kept and revealed, and the fight for the future of humanity.
Just finished From Beyond: The Complete Series. An incredible book. Kept my interest the entire time. You really care about the characters. You won't be disappointed.
While the plots and characters were good, the writing seemed choppy. A character would be sitting, then all of a sudden, they're doing something far from where they were sitting. That, among other editing issues, pulled me out of the story.
But all in all, it was a good, plausible invasion story.
