It was the biggest case in former FBI Special Agent Janine Blackwell’s career, and it propelled her to the top of her field. A high-profile murder case where all clues pointed to NFL quarterback Bennett Chambers as the killer. Now, thanks to new DNA evidence, Barrett has been exonerated of all charges. When the Hope Island Securities team reopens the case, it will put Janine, Bennett, and everyone on the team in jeopardy when the real serial killer known as Judge comes out of hiding determined to keep his secrets even if it means silencing everyone involved.

Okay, this one had me totally stumped! And the romance is between the convicted and the one who convicted him! Didn’t see that coming.
Janine has been enjoying her career with the Hope Island Securities team. But when the serial killer she put away starts killing people again, there’s a big problem... Bennett was locked up as the killer, and there have been no deaths connected to the case since his incarceration. But now the murders are happening again, and he is still behind bars. Janine is forced to face the truth: she locked up the wrong person! They decide to work together to stop the real killer once and for all. What they didn’t expect was falling in love... or the fact that the killer has now set his sights on them!
This was packed full of mystery, the romance was so sweet, and the suspense was intense. If you can’t handle death on the page, this will not be the book for you!
I thought the story was good. But the romance moved a little too quickly for my taste, and once again, the lack of editing and really choppy formatting threw off the reading experience for me. But overall, I enjoyed the mystery and the unexpected romance!
Sins of the Past is another stellar romantic suspense from Mary Alford. Engrossing and super very Mary. The plot was unique and the ending so surprising. The only reason I couldn't give this book five stars was due to the terrible formatting. Chopped up sentences and crazy page breaks very much interfered with my ease of reading. But, don't let that keep you from reading the book... the story overrides the formatting.
I enjoyed the plot line and the way I was surprised at the end! I didn’t like the way it formatted on my iPad. I thought it must be my iPad and I re-booted it several times, thinking it would correct itself. This I don’t believe is the authors fault and I made it through the book. Hopefully it will get fixed and enjoyed reading it!
This book was great! I love the Hope Island Securities Series. Each of the members are people you learn to love. This had so many twists and turns and very creepy mysteries they had to solve. I had to read the whole thing because I could not put it down. This book is definitely worth reading.
Wow simply Wow!! This was a fast paced book that I read in one afternoon. It had so many twists and turns and suspense that kept my heart racing page after page. It was a physiological suspense thriller with romance all rolled into one book!!!
Really liked the book but it needs some serious editing! There were several blatant errors…number of murders, wrong names used. Huge gaps in spacing. All these things detract from a great read. Not sure if the author was trying to make a slur on Catholicism with the 7 deadly sins. I hope not.
I read the Kindle version which has MAJOR formatting problems making it difficult to follow the storyline in some places. Overall it seems like a good story even with some of the not quite believable character changes.
I love all of the good characters in this Christian suspense book. There is plenty of mystery, crime, and twists to the story, but it does have dark parts. The romance is enjoyable, and it has a happy ending.
